Why can't we all just discuss our opinons instead of insulting eachother?

Because this place has become an echo chamber. Therefore people have this incorrect sense that their opinion is justified and any opinion going against the grain is to be ridiculed.

The forums are known for being killer sided. There are a bunch of smurf accounts that try to bait and interrupt serious discussions with inappropriate comments too. Just ignore the haters and share love!!! <3

@toxicnancymain Honestly people on this forum have gotten so used to feeding on each others hate that it's actually quite sad. I take regular breaks from this place because I'm genuinely just not a hateful person and it often shocks me just how nasty people are to each other because they have the anonymity of the internet to protect them.
Just be better than that. It's the only thing you can do

It is indeed very annoying, especially since these behaviors are also contagious, even on oneself.
I already made this request in the suggestions: to be able to hide the answers of certain users. I don't want to waste my time reading the answers: "No", "git gud" or "bait" (with the image, it's a very important added value!). It would be a huge step forward.

I've been on the forums less and less lately. All I ever see is constant complaining and whining about every little change, and arguments ensue

well, for a killer sided forums there are a lot of survivor complains, if you ask me. I, personaly, believe that the killer complains are often more justified. But thats just my personal view point.
I play survivor more than killer, but i do play both sides, so every nerf or buff affects me positive and negative.
As a survivor, mostly solo, my escape rate is way higher than 50%, and there are few killers i struggle against.
from the killer pov, there is much more potential for an unbalanced match. But if its too easy a 4k isnt satisfying, and if the survivors outclass you, the matter is not the 4 escapes, but the struggle for every single hook, resulting in tunneling and camping. Bit that has more to do with unfair matchmaking. And that inbalanced is accepted by the devs in order to shorten lobby times.

The objectives of both sides are opposed and people are usually too lazy to play the other side usually survivor mains because they want to play with their friends 2 the reason people are on the forums at all is because they have some sort of problem with the game and pair that with the ignorance of one sided bias that spring up during a discussion and it'll devolve into insulting eventually 3 this is the exact same thing that happened during the ruin nerf they're were a lot of no more easy 4k comments and git gud and adapt

The topic of discussion is DbD in this General Discussions section. The game is not and will probably never be balanced. The game plays very differently at the different skill levels and that means many problems/concerns/confusion can be found I this game. Since were here to talk DbD, then we’re going to point out and discuss this. The real problem is when people want to label this as Whining and Complaining and try to kill the conversation or attack the OP.
You know other sections of the forum exist right?

This is mainly due to people thinking that their opinion is better than everyone else's and that if they disagree then they should quit. Like say if i said this "i really like this game and the devs should get a break from working too hard" i would probally get comments saying that Im wrong and should just shut up or that the devs don't do anything to balance this game. It's just how it is.

I agree with you. I am sure without reading this post yet there is at least one person calling someone a name and acting tough because online we all can be strong independent women! lol I however believe in having spirited conversation and debates without the need to call names because I can make my point without being a bully and at the same time respecting others different outlooks.
The main problem and reason you won't ever see a non toxic room is because just like in the game people do not like to be challenged. It is why you will see many post about things being OP because something must be OP or broken and it cannot be the players skill. It is the same as you trying to point out why someone is maybe wrong and just like the game they cant lose or be wrong so you are a doodie head! ROFL jk jk
It's a sad but true thing but people find being toxic fun but it takes more to be the bigger person and be kind plus you get more respect in my opinion . I will never be toxic and enjoy being nice because it actually makes the toxic people EXTRA toxic and it's funny watching them get more upset than they hope you are getting. lol

Yeah the thing is, i don't think some people get the idea you need both survivors and killers to play the game. That and even if someone is x main. Well how does that degrade the point they make any way shape or form? Since it like how does playing the game, degrade or lessen your point about the game? Since if they make a good point, it going to be a good point. No matter if they are a survivor or killer main. For there will still be logic in it. It sort of like the entertain industry or comics industry, they try to dismiss your point by claiming you are x, rather than challenging your point.

Because if you brand someone as part of "the others" you are justified in ignoring or mocking their input, of course 🙃
And god forbid you have a mix of opinions and stances, some pro-survivor and some pro-killer. In that case you're just in an awkward superposition or something where you can be observed as a main of one side or the other whenever it's "convenient" for someone looking to discredit you.

Well gamers have raised alot of million for charity. So being a gamer = toxic might be questionable. Which game journalists really make things out to be way worst than it really is. Since they call everyone who doesn't agree with them demonized term. Don't agree with a easy mode for sekiro/dark soul like games? You are against disable games. Even with a easy mode not being the end all fix they believe it to be, since not all disabilities are the same. Because generally people do not accept an opinion that is different from theirs, that is: "I am right because it is what I think and you are not because you think differently than me" I am very happy with the changes, those who are crying are those rank 1 pros who used infinity and threw the pallets at you easily because as there were a thousand on the map that gives the most (It is sarcasm but it is understood) Surely those who cry are the same that were happy when they nerfed ruin, now those will feel like the killers felt at the time
