Casual Gaming in Dead by daylight

I been playing for some time now and i have some experience whit the game. And i would say that we really need some casual more chill games. Were ranking up is not the hole game and winning the game is not the goal. More layed back were you still earn you're bloodpoint's.

I think we need a gamemode in Dbd were the rank's are turned off and were you play completely vanilla. That mean's no perk's addons and offering's but were you still get you're bloodpoint's. This can make it so people that are new to the game dosent need to meet people whit the iridesent head on huntress, or be looped the hole game from a purple flashlighting surviver.

    I sometimes play really casually. I usually concentrate on my chases, but sometimes i just mess around with sum ppl.

    Wheres the point in a gamemode where killers are even more encouraged to camp, tunnel and slug, casue theres now way to even soft-counter it?

    If by soft-counter to camping and tunneling you mean the emblem punishment you get for staying near a hook, I would argue that people who want to camp don't even care for the emblem punishments anyways.

    To be honest, what this game needs is actual punishment in game to killers that camp and tunnel that actually affect the match, making those strategies far less viable. Killers can do just as well if not better without camping and tunneling, there is no reason for such unfun strategies to still be as potentially effective as they are right now. Especially now that maps are being made fairer for killer, survivors shouldn't have to deal with such frustrations as well.

    You must have really bad luck or your not very good survivor because I can’t remember the last time I got camped or hardly ever get tunneled. Get slugged sometimes but that’s what Unbreakable is for.

    Correct me if i missunderstand you, but...

    I dont think this mode where no rank exist would help anybody to get a better gaming experience, actually this would make it even worse. Just because perks would be removed does not mean skill or behaviour would change. Also, a random rank 1 killer could show up in a lobby with rank 20 survivors (and around) which would totally lead to an unballanced gaming experience. How should this be fun for anyone?

    Good for you. The tunneling is real on PS4.

    But either way I'm not going to hate on the killer for doing this. I think it is a bad strategy because you are probably going to let 3 people get out why you tunnel 1 person out of the game. But that's the killer's choice.

    At least you get to practice that looping. Which is really the best way to beat tunneling.

    I play on ps4 also but not every game do I get tunneled like some ppl claim. Maybe like one out of five match’s. Like you said it’s a good opportunity to practice looping and jukes to get better. If I get caught it’s nobody’s fault but mine

    Decreasing the Bleed out Speed of hooked survivors or just stopping the Bleed Out timer in general when the killer is within a certain range of the hooked survivor will work if there are enough other conditions for that as well:

    • The survivor has to have been hooked for 20 seconds
    • no other survivor is within that same range of the hooked survivor
    • the killer is not within a chase
    • once all gens are powered, this mechanic is disabled
    • the killer can no longer see the Bleed Out progression of survivors

    If these additional conditions are applied, slowing down or stopping the Bleed Out timer would work as far as I can tell. Unless you can tell me how survivors could still abuse this?

    playing for fun is game mode independent. you make it by yourself. just don't be a try harder and stop caring about your rank. did the killer bring a mori? ok, go ahead and try to loop him for 5 gens. failed? ok. got tunelled and moried? nice, next game coming :)

    Main things here, for me at least, are that games are already extremely short so lengthening the time survivors are on a hook... I don't know about that idea. Especially if the killer just wants to patrol the area around the hook because, as you suggested, they wouldn't be able to see the bleedout bar of the survivor they hooked, and would still have to check around to see if there's somebody in the area.

    Plus, as a survivor I already have that mentality of "oh well I'm gonna get screwed over sometimes, might as well just buy my team time even if it's just by me dying really quickly." With that kind of change, I would get to feel even more confident about just luring the killer away from my team doing gens because I would know that he's screwed either way because he either has to stay in the area and hope that he doesn't just let go of all of his pressure by giving a free unhook, or stay in the area to try to defend his hook while the team, like normal, would just be cranking out gens and ending the game quickly. Plus, this also might cause the rise of less camping but more tunneling. I know as if I had survivors that were just unhooking right when I got out of whatever radius, I'd probably want to at least go back and punish that play.

    In the end I don't think it's the worst idea but in my head when I think of it this playing out, I imagine it solving some problems but creating new ones. At least with the current state of the game. In an alternate reality where the game was balanced differently, I would be more willing to agree that this should be implemented.

    That‘s why i suggested that the timer slowdown or pause should only start after the survivor has been hooked for 20 seconds or so, maybe it can be bumped up to 30 seconds. That way the killer still has some time to check around the hook for any survivors.

    The only Problem could be if the killer is certain that a survivor is near the hook, but there actually isn‘t a survivor. Then he‘ll be punished more, but since that‘s a misplay anyways, i don‘t really see a Problem there either. However this would make the most frustrating strategy for survivors much less viable, which I think is only fair, especially now that many maps have seen changes that make them much fairer for killers.
