is it fair that the killer gets blinded while breaking a pallet with flashlight

when a killer breaks a pallet the traditional way ( without chainsaw or gorgon's charge pounce ) should the killer be blinded by the flash light considering he has no way to avoid it and that he is looking downwards towards the pallet and not at the survivor's flashlight , unless he has the lightborn perk ?

I mean, I don't see a reason why there should be certain circumstances where you aren't allowed to hit a flashlight blind. If you have the aim to land it then you should be able to get it

Just a bit confused where this question came from since I've never heard anyone talk about this before. Flashlights are a thing... that's about the end of that discussion

I think it's fine, especially that it can be countered by just listening.

if your breaking a pallet and your not looking upward then how is it that you can be blinded it makes no sense and the killer breaking the pallet should be the only thing slowing him down in that moment . he/she should not be blinded during the breaking of the pallet .

It is fair to be blinded when breaking a pallet. Is it likable? No. Is it toxic? To some people, but it's fair.

The killers are taller than the survivors who are shorter, so even if the killers are looking down the survivors are more or less still shining the beam of the flashlight upward into the killers face.

Also, to bounce off what @CheersTC said, this isn't even an issue especially for veteran killers because they know in that moment to stop relying on their eyes and rely on their ears. Just by listening, especially if the survivor is injured, you can tell where a survivor is running next so you won't really be slowed down much at all since when you regain vision you'll be heading in the same direction the survivor is running, if not right behind them.

for me it is the same thing, no matter if they blind me, I can hear their footsteps and I will have a predator to not lose them for a second.

Blinding at Pallets is actually not the smartest move, especially when being injured and not running Iron Will. If you can hear them (injured sounds, footsteps), you can still follow them while blinded, so the Blind will result in a bad situation for the Survivor, since they spend the time blinding you instead of getting distance.

So it can easily backfire to them.

I personally have no problems with being blinded, most of the time I can hear the Survivor and they will stop blinding after I got in a hit or two.

I love it when they do that instead of making distance, then it's too late when they realize that I have headphones. It used to bother me to no end when I was a baby killer, but now I know better. They can blind all the times they want at pallets. It won't be worth it the spanking that I'll dish out shortly afterward.

You're not gonna be using your flaslight while you're running, removing this would be pretty bad.

Exactly, most of the times its completely useless unless you are running iron will.

It would still be a much better choice to create distance after a pallet stun than to blind the killer.

I don't see any other way to even use flashlights anyway. Every time I try to save someone picked up, I get like blind and a two but the killer never gets stunned. I don't understand what it is maybe my game is broken.

Its nearly impossible to blind a killer if they are not breaking a pallet or picking someone up so why remove the only time you can get a blind? Also the blind duration is half done by the time you finish the break animation, you can even negate the flashlight by using decent headphones.

I would say it's fair because for a survivor to bring in or find a flashlight in a match it has charges just like other items so the survivor can only blind the killer a certain number of times. A killer can also use lightborn if he/she sees a bunch of flashlights being carried before a match starts.

You can pretend to break the pallet and then avoid the blind. It's a good way to make them deplete their precious charges.

When playing killer, it usually never bothers me because I figure they're just trying to do a challenge or get some extra bloodpoints. It rarely ever helps them lose me, and actually wastes a bit of their time making distance.

That being said, if you approach a dropped pallet as though you're going to break it and then look straight down at it without actually starting the break action, survivors will sometimes just shine their flashlights at your face trying to blind you. When looking straight down, you can't be blinded. I've had many survivors try to blind me for a full 6 or more seconds of straight flashlight time trying to get the right angle but just burning through their charges.

It isn't really a big problem, since you can hear where they are going (even easier when they are injured) and follow them by sound. That's if you don't bait out the flashlight.

It's kind of crazy as the killer would turn away from flashlight to look down at the pallet surely

Its not bad if the survivor doesnt have Iron Will it should not be Hard to lose him

I don't understand. I don't think i've ever been blinded by a flaslight while breaking a pallet. In fact, usually when Someone is attempting to blind me, breaking a pallet interupts this process..

guess it depends on perks that speed up pallet destruction.

Being blinded while breaking a pallet has never affected my chases unless the flashlight was equipped with those thingies to extend the time the blindness lasts, which is rare, so...

It's completely unfair considering if there is a squad of flashlight welders you can't get un blinded for some time even though you couldn't avoid the initial flashlight

If you have good headphones it's a good thing. They lose distance and you can still follow them using your earphones.

Also with Lightborn this basically guarantees a free hit.

I see no reason to remove it.

The survivor isn't using that time to gain distance from you by blinding you and outside of sound bugs you can usually hear where they are so it's not like being blind prevents you from keeping on their tail.
