Please get rid of ebony mori
facing a killer with ebony mori is one of the most un fun things in the game. Unless the killer is really bad then you’ve basically lost as soon as you’ve loaded into the game.
if you want to remove keys to make it fair then go ahead. Ebony mori is just an insanely unfair mechanic that needs to be removed.

go and google "#KillerRebellion". You won't believe that #########.

Inb4 “nerf keys too then”
keys are bad it nowhere near how bad Ebonies are

It won't get removed. It will be changed at most. The mori is a key gameplay element and it isn't gonna be going anywhere.

Having ivory mori is fine, it’s just ebony that needs to go.

I'm honestly surprised they haven't changed the use conditions to something more balanced yet. It has to be obvious how much it gives the killer an advantage way bigger than any other advantage in the game.
4 -
lol what?
I'm all for killers believe me but Ebonies are a lot more broken
You can get all 4 kills at 5 gens, and with keys you have to have survivors do at least SOME gens for the key to be used.

They massively reduce the amount of the objective both sides need to work on in order to "win"
You could have played like ######### and still escape with your body just because you have a key
You can be a ######### player and still kill all four survivors easily if you have an ebony mori

I think the difference between ivory and ebony moris is not that great. If the killer kills a survivor 2 minutes into the game with only one gen done, the game is most likely over (at least in most solo lobbys), so killing other ones doesnt really matter that much.
Still i think moris are just as ok as keys. This game is not esports, just accept that from time to time broken stuff happens. I never encountered it on a regular basis.Survivors dying on the first hook break the game way more.
2 -
No that's dumb don't take it out just instead have only available on last hook thats more understandable and I guess survivors can't just insta use keys

I have to repeat myself time and time again.
Ebony Mori's would be fine if "Ultra Rare" actually meant ultra ffing rare.
Imagine having gotten only 1 after 600 hours of playing this game, you would be so happy with such a rare item you would not even think to use it.
In warframe there is an item called a "legenday core" now this is an old item and all it does is level up 1 mod up to max level which is not entirely interesting anymore these days, but the item is sitll in the game and its so freaking rare that in my idk 6000 hours.... on the game I have gotten...2.
Im not going to use those ever, they are collectables to me.

Keys are also unfun.
Get rid of them as well.

In my opinion just make it to where they can't Mori you off of first hook with it. That would make it more balanced since keys they require more work to be done, gens finished and all that

Hey we got a deal right here. Rework keys and rework moris. Woop woop!
1 -
You're right from the raw balance view, but in my opinion to get moried off first hook is as frustrating as seeing three survivors escape through the hatch when you got a 3gen.

Isn't that, you know, the purpose of a killer? Having an advantage above the intruders on your terrain?
And btw, what's next after this? Remove Myers tombstone since it can kill survivors WITHOUT even to hook one?!?!?!?!
2 -
Keys are necessary because of killer-sided hatch changes, so no.
2 -
No.

Ivory sucks just as much as an ebony for the survivor who gets tunneled off hook with it.
0 -
exactly - thats why mories should require the killer to hook everyone once before they can use them.
that would be sooo much better...

It's fine if all 4 survivors get to escape for free
But killers get to kill 4 survivors and it's worse than a war crime

Honestly, I don't see the Ebony getting too insanely nerfed—not because it doesn't need to be, but because it's meant to be really powerful; the idea is that it's a rare treat that makes you feel like an unstoppable monster. I do think it could use some tweaking, however.
If I had to change every single mori offering, it would look like this:
Cypress—No longer kept a secret; it doesn't need to be and only encourages Survivors to get upset since they think it will be an Ebony.
Ivory—Only works on a Survivor who has been hooked twice.
Ebony—Only activates when ALL FOUR Survivors have been hooked at least once.

You guys don’t seem to know what “Inb4” means lmao please look it up
i don’t think keys are anywhere as criminal as ebonies lol

Everything I write is theoretical and not talking about one particular game.
Writing about an unnamed game. Moris aren't really that over powered. You have to find a survivor, chase the survivor, hit the survivors twice to down them, hook the survivor, wait for someone to take them off the hook, find the survivor again, possibly hit the survivor two more times to down then, then initiate the kill. A good group could have done most of the gens by this point.
I don't personally see the mori over powered. I hardly see them being used by killers. I see more keys being used that moris.

I was in a match yesterday where I spawned unfortunately close to a Deathslinger in a dead space area. I was downed within the first minute of the game. He hooked me and walked a little ways away, around a corner, my teammate (random) unhooked me right away and by the time my feet hit the ground the killer was back in LOS, shot me and mori'd me. I got 1,900 pts and was outta the match in a lot less time than it took me to get in. It was the least amount of pts and the shortest game I have ever had. 😂 I don't really care about moris that badly...but they can be a bit OP. LOL

Nobody, not even survivors have said its fine for all survivors to escape via key.
Most have said keys need a nerf

Ebony def needs to be reworked, either to 2nd hook or as others have suggested, all survivors must be hooked first.

Um I’m sorry but that is the worst logic ever. Here let me demonstrate
in my opinion, a killers job is really hard and it is extremely hard for them to get a kill. Firstly you have to find a survivor in which theoretically all generators could have gone by this time. Then you have to hit them, after this you are slowed down for a bit and the survivor gets a speed boost which may allow him to escape you; making you start the whole process again. If you still can see the survivor you then have to hit them a second time to down them. Once downed you will have to hook the survivor and hopefully hook them without getting blinded or body blocked by a SWF. Once the survivor is on the hook you have to repeat the process another 2 times!!! How is a killer meant to kill anyone? I rest my case

honestly then you are super lucky, the game has not interested me for about half a year now I think but up to that point I did sorties just about every day as well, again, only ended up having 2.
But yeah, still 20 is a lot better then the hundreds of ebony mori's people have

I think it should be changed , I play both roles at red ranks and the same way the key is a long haul for getting most the generators done and having to lose some team mates to possible get use out of it , maybe have the mori work after 2 hooks or after the survivors blood counter reaches a certain level?

Yes, I perfectly know what inb4 means, that doesnt stop me from trying to give my opinion
0 -
There's an extremely significant difference between having an advantage 4 times as powerful as any advantage a survivor has and an advantage 10 times as powerful as any survivor advantage.
0 -
They put in major effort in creating distinct moris for the killers. Why would they turn around and reduce the options to mori?
Also MC has stated before that dbd is supposed to feel frustrating at times.
0 -
Alright then make it so you can only mori on Last hook, you can then mori the same amount of survivors if you’re good enough
0 -
Those people are goddamn insane.

Atleast don't allow more than 1 per bloodweb

Yes.

Well, if having a Mori meant that ranks would be unaffected for the match, then it'd be FINE! But they do. And tunnelling is given the all clear by the devs.
And this is after facing 4 NoED/Ebony Mori's back to back.
Iri Huntress, Prayer Bead Spirit, regular Spirit and (almost) insta-saw Hillbilly in case anyone was wondering.
