like an early rift fragments counter (without the rewards of course) that you would normally get by just playing full matches

Bah I wish the grind was heavy I like to feel I earn my rewards...

I'd like it if they could boost the shard gain for later chapters of the tome..it would make the ground a tad shorter and make challanges more impactful

As long as people buy tiers to complete the rift they'll never change it because people spend money to avoid the grind.
This is the entire point of the battlepass.
Not so you get cosmetics or content.
So they get your $$

I never thought the rift was as grindy as people claim it is. I completed both rifts with about 25 days left. I do play quite a bit though.
