Killer mains who's your go to.

I'm new to the forum. I just recently got the nightmare edition. Birthday gift from my wife. I started using huntress from the start. And I clicked with her. She's fun to use. Has a few flaws. But who doesn't. The Dr it took a minute to get used to. But both are level 23.atm.and I do pretty well with both. Freddy is good cannibal too. But I get more hate when I use the huntress. I don't believe in camping. I hook you then move on. Terrorizing everyone .

Doctor, Wraith, Trapper, Hag. At low ranks especially, you can play mind games on survivors.

I used to main Huntress, got her to prestige 2...but I dunno...it started to not feel viable for me at higher ranks. I think that's why I switched but I can't remember. Then I mained Doctor. He can be pretty good in terms of survivor visibility, lots of things really. I used to main survivor but the queue got too long.

Now I kinda just jump around trying to level up everyone. I buy a new guy or two every month. I really like Spirit. I enjoy the ones with a speed element. Deathslinger is interesting if you like Huntress. Really enjoy Ghost Face. If you like stealth he can be really fun. I just got The Legion today. He definitely doesn't seem great but maybe I'm not using him right lol. I don't like any of the slower killers at all.

Glad to see you went with Huntress first choice though. You don't have to camp with her to be effective. I don't see why you'd get hate. That's what you are supposed to do lol. This community can be very toxic. But there are a lot of guys especially here on the forums that are really helpful and knowledgeable. And there's a good few that are very sportsmanlike and against any of the hate

Nurse or Hag. Both have steep learning curves, especially Nurse.

Nurse can teleport through pretty much everything. Those pesky pallets and windows? Lol, just blink to the other side. She takes a lot of practice though.

Hag is super fun. You place up to 10 traps and teleport to them when survivors step on them. It's fun to prepare your "web" and then rapidly do a ton of damage.

I play all Killers (my lowest is a tie between Hillbilly, Clown, Plague, Ghost Face and Deathslinger, all at 35), but if I had to pick who I'd prefer to play more than any others, it would be either Doctor or Oni. Doctor has always been fun for me (even before his rework), and he's one of my Killers at level 50 (the others being Trapper and Spirit, because Archives). Oni is not that high (39), but he just clicks with me. That and his very existence has become part of an inside joke between me and my friends (his name sounds identical to my old Chem teacher, who is fully aware of it too).

GhostFace, Pig and Legion in that order. I LOVE fast paced chases, hide and seek styled hunting and because of them basically just being ordinary human just in masks I kinda feel thematically tied with survivors. Hope you love the game!

Mine is Doc, Freddy, and Legion.

Before you say anything, no, i don't specifically choose these killers just to annoy survivors. I'm actually a killer that follows survivor rule book (Kind of :))

I play the weaker killers like Clown frequently, but when an SWF tells me I'm bad for losing to them, abusing god loops and dead harding for distance, I will immediately play Freddy.

    Freddy.

was an old Freddy main and now a new Freddy main.

occasionally Wraith and Pig if I have some decent addons.

Doc and legion if I’m point farming.

    I don't have a go-to killer anymore.

You never know which killer might get nerfed these days.

That said, I'll probably main Deathslinger since I enjoy shooting mechanics.

Always leave last person a hatch.

If one of survivors leaves during the match you have to play nice and guve up couple of gens.

Never chase a person who was on a hook less then two minute ago.

    Never slug.

    Never camp.

Never bring franklin's demise, pop goes the weasel, or any perk which gives exposed status to survivors

and NEVER bring memnto mori to a match

Stick at least to those simple rules and i can assure you that you get good at the game really fast and earn a little respect from noble survivor master race

oh and yes, go with nurse she fun to play against

Just enjoy your game and play however you want to.

Oni is very fun to play if you ever want something new. Trapper is very good.

Don't listen to whoever tells you their imagined rules.

    Huntress.

She is the top skill ceiling for killers imho.

It's so satisfying when you hit your ability through a tiny hole, or when you predict where survivors are moving to and hit them from the other side of the map. Her mindgames in short loops are fun and the best of her is that the only thing that stops you from make an outplay to the survivor is the mere existence of big objects. And you can use iridescent hatchets to play like a sniper, 1 powerful shot but if you miss you have to reload and reposition because if they now where you are, they can easily react to the throws.

Also survivors don't usually bully you on postgame chat if you hit them all hatchets, predicting their lateral dashes or hit them with parabolic throws.

The other killers are fun to play, but none as the huntress <3

The Plague. She is easily my favourite killer. I'd reccoment getting her for her perks alone, but if you enjoy Huntress you will probably love Plague as well. Super difficult killer, though

My go to is Demo, but I wouldnt recommend him if you are still learning the game, he is not ultra hard like other killers but his shred is quite punishing and can be really unfun if you miss it a lot and portal placement is a bit clunky.

My second to go is legion, they can inflict damage fast and stall the game quite a lot, but his power has a long ass stun that gets triggered just by failing a hit, again, I wouldn't recommend him if you are still a beginner, they are really, really punishing with mistakes.

And lastly, but not least, its Oni, Oni is really, really fun, his power is a bit complicated but his demon rush (or whatever it was called) Is quite easy to use, well, at least if you are not getting looped, I would personally recommend it to a beginner that wants a different experience.

I play pretty much all of them depending on what I feel like, but my top 3 favorites will probably always be Huntress, Trapper and... 3rd slot is sort of on rotation actually, at the moment it's Hag and sometimes it's Doctor, Wraith or Nurse.

No particular reason, I've always played them all and I've just figured out they're the ones I enjoy the most 👍️

Ive tryed alot of different killers. But huntress. When she sings the lullaby. Your in trouble. I've got better with her hatchets. Hitting someone from long range while also on the run. Takes lots of practice. But she's fun to use.

Right now it's Demo or Doctor, but I mess around with Deathslinger and Billy from time to time. I used to main Myers but after these god awful dedicated servers came out, and the ruin nerf, I've had absolutely no desire to play him since. His stalk is so broken it's unreal. Completely unacceptable that him, GhostFace and Nurse have been this broken for over 6 months now.

Been playin nothing but slinger since his release except when I'm doing challenges or dailies. Easily my new main. Other than cotton eye joe I like stealth myers with monitor and dead rabbit and bubba with nemesis + pwyf.

Welcome to the game and the forums!

My go-to killer is Hag. I love planning ahead, putting traps where I expect the survivors to go, imagining their routes and how best to cut them off. I also enjoy Trapper for the same reason. :)

You trolling? I can understand being a little more lenient in play if someone DC's or not being a douche and face camping but that's about it.

Not going to let a Survivor just escape through the hatch. If I find it before they do, I'm going to shut it for points.

If I hooked a minimum of 1 other person during those 2 minutes from when the original dude was unhooked and I see the original individual again, I'm going to hook them again.

There are perks specifically designed for slugging that create pressure in game against survivors. While there are also perks like unbreakable that counter slugging. Slugging is okay in game for both sides.

You didn't specific face camping so I'm delving into this one too. If there are Survivors in the area that are waiting for you to walk 20 meters in a different direction before the unhook, you're absolutely right I'll stay in the area to find them. It's ridiculous to expect a Killer to walk across the map so someone get's their guaranteed 3 hooks, even though 1-3 other survivors are all right there in the area.

I only ever use Franklins when A.) A survivor brings a Key or B.) 2+ Survivors bring flashlights. PGTW is an anti gen perk and is no different from Ruin, Surge, or Overcharge. There is nothing wrong with that perk. Any perk that brings the exposed status is typically avoidable. Iron Maiden - Don't hop in a locker, hardly anyone runs it these days and the killers that do, Survivors find out immediately and just don't hop in lockers. Devour Hope - Cleanse totem. It's also an incentive for Killers not to camp and it takes 3 tokens to be exposed. NOED - Cleanse totem. Make Your Choice - Stay hidden when you unhook the individual. Haunted Ground - Don't cleanse totem. Or cleanse totem and stay hidden. Rancor - Stay hidden.

Pink Mori - Understandable frustration when used immediately. But it is still allowable and should be used if you spent BP on it, no different than using Keys.

Spirit, Huntress, Pig, and Hag are my go to killers. Depending on my mood I'll be playing one of these 4 killers. High chance I'm either playing Huntress or Pig because the other 2 I more often than not get the 4k. Huntress is common for me to get the 4K, but the maps can make or more RNG or raise the difficulty. Pig I honestly love the most as killer. I'm more likely to start my day or end my day as Pig depends on my mood when I load up DBD.

Spirit is my go to killer. Was trying to get good with Oni last night and I ran into a swf that bullied me and couldn't walk away with their victory in post game chat! When I ran into them the next match they were salty that I was using Spirit and that they couldn't get any gens done.

Depends on the survivor setup. Two or more health kits? Plague. TTV? Wraith with Coxcombed Clapper and a mori. Two or more toolboxes? Doc. A full on sweaty SWF build? Dodge, as I don't want that toxicity.

Usually, though, it's just Plague. I love her.

If you like Huntress I think you're gonna love Deathslinger (maybe)

Personally, I love the Deathslinger a lot more than I do Huntress, she's very satisfying to use I'll give you that but I always hated running out of hatchets and having to give up pressure or even worse disengage from a chase. With Deathslinger you don't have to do either of those because there's no ammo to run out of, he can reload while maintaining a chase and never has to sacrifice pressure to leave an area.

Of course he does have his own problems to deal with unlike huntress he has a limited range of 18m and his projectile does not deal a confirmed state of damage right when it lands, you have to reel that survivor in first to attack them or let the chain break (which would allow them to gain a bit of extra distance while you are stunned). However, there are plenty of things Deathslinger arguably does better than Huntress, unlike the huntress he does not have a lullaby and his Terror radius is actually decreased from the normal 32m to 24m, where the lullaby on top of her terror radius makes the Huntress' presence known anywhere as far away as 45 meters. Deathslinger is far more stealthy and can sneak up on survivors especially when using Terror radius reducing perks like Monitor & Abuse or Furtive Chase.

The hitbox is also far smaller for the Harpoon of the Redeemer than the hatchets huntress uses, because of this it is far easier for the Huntress to bungle up her shots and for her hatchets to collide with some asset on the map. Whereas a skilled Deathslinger can use the smaller hitbox of the harpoon to his advantage and can make some of the craziest shots between hay bales or boarded up windows.

He also has a much faster ADS time, I'm sure you've noticed by now that it takes a bit of time for the Huntress to wind up her shots and this can make it a bit difficult to catch someone at a loop since they will just outrun you while your movement speed is down. Not a problem for the Deathslinger however, since he can basically aim down sights in a second making unpredictable quickshots on of the go-to methods for catching a survivor out, even if they're running a tight loop as long as you've got LOS you can hit 'em.

He's a lot of fun to play around with, and about as satisfying since you get to watch their faces contorted in fear as you slowly reel survivors in to their ultimate demise.

Outside of Deathslinger who I've been working at to get better with (since he's the newest killer in the game), I'm a Ghostface main, and have been ever since he was released in 2019, by far the best Stealth Killer there is out there, extremely mobile and versatile he can bounce between targets starting and stopping chases at a whim unbeknownst to the survivors and appear where they least expect. It can be pretty terrifying on the receiving end, but just straight up fun when you're the one dishing out the damage. He is and always will be my personal favorite, though I know not everybody is into the playstyle of Stealth Killers and I know despite having the most potential Ghostface also requires the most practice since you can actually be kicked out of your power by the survivors.

Second to Ghostface and sticking to Wes Craven's genius would be Freddy Krueger who I would consider my secondary. You've already discovered him it seems so I don't think I need to go into detail why he's so good and viable at higher ranks and why he's fun to play

Aside from these three which are my biggest Go-To's, I have a lot of fun playing as The Oni, Hillbilly, Trapper, The Doctor (post rework) and I've done a bunch of dabbling in the Clown because he's my favorite original killer aesthetic and theme wise. Unfortunately the Clown is quite literally the worst killer in the game, but I have a lot of love for the big guy and I hope he gets reworked soon.

Its in the name, everything about her is great, her add ons could be less....wasteful. But overall she's amazing. Followed closely by plague and spirit, who are my go To's when I want to approach the game objective blocking a different way.

Clown and Daddy Myers. Only two that click well with me. I do well with Wraith simply cause of my playtime with him but never was interested in the "op" killers like billy and nurse. A lot of Clown playtime lately though as I'm trying to prove a point that he's not bottom tier. :|

Funny, my experience is pretty much the same as yours-I recently started playing (about a month or so ago), started with huntress and sort of clicked with her and stuck, then tried out the Dr and while I couldn't quite get the hang of playing him to start with, once I did i found I really enjoyed him. My huntress is in the mid 20s too but as my Dr is my main now he's in the 30s. I've often seen people say the hillbilly is an easy killer to play but I'll be da**ed if I can get any good with him. As for people being toxic with you, honestly just ignore it-I've never played a game where there is so much bitterness and moaning, it's insane. Have fun and maybe see you in the fog!
