Can someone explain this to me, why do survivors instandly lose any exhaustion they had after being hooked?

This was added for things like dead hard or sprint burst so that if a killer is tunneling they get a chance to escape.

It was added because survivors can't lose exhaustion while running. This was added with Clown's chapter

To give survivor a chance from getting tunneled.

Yea that sounds okay to me. It gives survivors a chance of getting away with they’re exhaustion perk to prevent tunneling. I don’t think you realize how unfun this game is as survivor if you don’t have a chance to defend yourself against tunnelers and campers. This whole DC system is broken too in the sense that rather than make the game more enjoyable they force you to endure suffering. 😰

It's fairly obvious, to reduce the power of tunneling. Although this does also add minor encouragement to farm off hooks more so what can you do :/

Same reason Adrenaline works when they're unhooked. There is none.. ..In terms of realism or lore that is.

Gameplay, helps avoid tunnelling as everyone else said. I guess?
