Wraith shouldn't get stunned by flashlighs
When will this be changed?
Just had a match against a toxic swf, and when I was chasing a survivor, the one beeing chased and the one running behind me would flahslight me at the same time to stun me, this was one of the worst exprience I ever had in the game
Please change it to something where he can still become visibile, but please don't stun him, killer powers shouldn't be determinated based on survivor items
and for people that don't realize…. I am talking about when wraith is cloaked...

now... and this is almost painful for me as I'm usually for every killer buff I can get...
but i have to disagree... flashlights are countered by just looking sideways and you can still swing when blinded... that stun only happens if you really let them lock onto you.
even really experienced players have trouble using flashlights
I think it should stay

Doesnt he literally have a perk for this?

I disagree considering wraith get a speed boost while cloaked and a good wraith will use that to bodyblock.

This is different from a flashlight blind. Wraith can be lightburned and stunned whenever he is cloaked by shining a flashlight anywhere on his body. Wraith is unable to use his power against some teams if they have at least two flashlights and do gens in groups of two. I've had it happen to me. Whenever I would approach a gen someone would stun me with a flashlight. I had to play powerless Wraith for the entire match to avoid being constantly stunned by flashlights.

I see, I see, that sounds doodoo.
I hate SWF flashlight teams when I play killer. You catch one - turn around - flashlight save. You catch them again, against a wall so the guy on the right cant flashlight you, turn to the left to find a hook...there's a guy on the left, flashlight save. :|
I understand the sucky nature of flashlights...but at least thats not all that common.
But you shouldnt be able to shine it anywhere and have an effect on the killer. It should have to be somewhat skillful.
Im terrible with flashlights.

It's a loooong stun too. Like a DS stun.

It is the one single counter to his ability and speed boost from uncloaking. It can only be done with an item that won't even last that long anyway. If you see a load of torches in the lobby, play someone else? Use Franklin's to use the torches up sooner? People claim survivors always want killers nerfed for stupid reasons but all I see is killers whining for buffs and this one being particularly dumb because in one game they kep getting burnt by a torch. Jesus....

I remember a glitch where wraith would go back to being cloaked after being stunned with a flashlight. Omg the horrors.

It can still counter, but I don't think it should stun. Like just reveal. Wraith is already a rather weak killer. In many cases, the survivor can get the burn faster than you can uncloak, so you can't even defend against it.

What benefit is there to bringing you out of your cloak? I stop to burn you with my torch, you catch up with me and rather than ring your bell with slow down etc you just walk right up to me and hit me???? What use would that be to the survivor????
"Please hit me Wraith, I'll even uncloak you for it."

All killers are able to be stunned, that’s that, if you find it hard to go against these kinds of people just play how you’d normally play and then move on, ignore there flashlight clicking or t-bagging.

yall realize I am talking about cloked wraith right???
Flashlights should be used to blind killers and saves, not to disable and stun a killer with his only power

As someone how plays Wraith I disagree with this. It takes survivors 2 seconds to burn the Wraith while uncloaking takes around 3 seconds. Survivors have to react very fast or they won't be able to burn him in time. Another strat you can use is when they start burning you, you can stop uncloaking and avoid the flashlight by running into them. They are stuck in position while using a flashlight so you can use your increased speed in cloaked form to outmaneuver them.

When Wraith gets burnt by a flashlight, he gets stunned for like 5 seconds. Any competent survivor will be LONG gone by then

As cool a mechanic as it is being the only killer afflicted by it, especially one so utterly addon dependant to even be functional seems wrong. He's already weak, seems especially punishing to long stun him with a simple flashlight.

Nurse can be lightburned too but only when she's charging a blink and you have to shine her face. It forces her into fatigue.

The Lightburn mechanic is just really stupid and should be removed entirely. It's basically giving Survivors with a flashlight a second DS.

no

I do miss the times when Enduring also affected Lightburn.

The lightburn mechanic was used on 2 killers. The nurse and the wraith plus it an old relic of the past. It might not even be bought back for other killers. If you get blinded like this go behind cover to uncloaked.

I wouldn't remain cloaked midchase. Id go for the bloodlust or uncloak around the corner for that little burst of speed when you leave and hit them that way
I find wraith most effective if I play him almost exactly how I play spirt. Witch is to say only use his power for movement or short range sneaky dash attacks
Oh and I target and tunnel the first flashlight mf I see to death. Face camp even. If they realize it makes them a target they won't do it as much.

No, Lightborn does not work on resisting Lightburn. You cannot counter it in any way. Looking up doesnt prevent it, turning around doesnt prevent it.

Unless they fixed it (i have not had a situation recently to say they did or did not) you can get chain stunned because there is a bug that wont allow you to get out of cloak. It is ment that you get uncloak as wraith when stunned by a flashlight, but a bug prevent(ed) this. So they can simply stun you as long as they want until they run out of battery.
So yes, if this is still in the game they have to fix this asap, its no game mechanic, it is a bug.

I mean... I'd always say fix bugs : /

If i understand @Thatbrownmonster correct, this topic is about this bug we apparently still have in the game. I think you were talking about getting blinded or something like that, which is not the case here.

don't cloak then.... or play Franklin demise to make that flashlight drop and lose durability...
0 -
Yes he should, its funny, and harmless.

The person I was responding to was saying the burning was fine but all it should do is unvckoak him and not stun him. Which is why I asked what the point of a survivor doing it would be? Maybe read the full thread instead of just stating the obvious about what currently happens and thinking you're the smart one.

A lot of.people dont realize that this is eveb a mechanic because the devs havent put it on a killer in a long time. The problem though is that it is a mechanic and, yeah you shouldnt be able to ds stun with a 1 second flashlight blast
0 -
Well aparently acording to most of this comments wraith should get stunned because his power is extremely strong, soo he should get stunned while clocked. Good job keeping a weak killer even weaker
0 -
I'm honestly glad you're banned, because that statement was out of this world dumb.
Cloaked Wraith can't ignore the Flashlight, when it's done, you get stunned.
0 -
Are you serious?
3 second stun? Missing boost from uncloak? Notifying everyone by releasing his TR?
1 -
it benefits the survivor by disabling the speed boost wraith gets?? And it doesn't ruin his entire exprience by giving him a stun everytime he tries to use his power?
0 -
The speed boost wouldn't matter the survivor has had to stop to flashlight burn him and if all it does is uncloak him he can walk towards the survivor at full speed being uncloaked whilst the survivor can barely move burning him. There is no need for the speed boost the survivor has given the Wraith a free hit by using a "counter" to his ability. Next level dumb.
1 -
Flashlights last like 12 seconds
0 -
How would the killer get a 3 second stun? If you read the post by the person I responded to, you would see that he has suggested the uncloak remains whilst the stun is removed, so the survivor stops to burn the Wraith and all he does is uncloak whilst coming towards you at full speed and hits you? Maybe try reading the quoted reply before jumping in with your ideas?
***This post is thanks to big brain Meg for taking offence to everything.***

No, please don't remove it. I love when survivors try to burn me out of my cloak just to give me a free hit. Since the patch where time to burn wraith was increased I don't see any problems with flashlights anymore. You have more then enough time to evade them.

Wraith and Nurse (although damn near impossible on Nurse) can be stunned by shining a flashlight on their body when they are using their power.
Wraith is invisible, shinning a flashlight on any part of his body for X seconds will cause him to be stunned for 5 seconds and be de-cloaked.
Nurse is holding her blink, shining a flashlight on her for X seconds stuns her for 5 seconds (take this with a grain of salt it may actually have been removed....or bugged)

I don't think it would be a good change. What Wraith needs are a lot of QoL bugfixes and a few addon tweaks...again. Wraith imho has the potential to be a solid M1 killer that can still apply pressure, he just needs a little oomph.

Or better, use ebony and straight up mori people off hooks. Simple counter and resolution.
0 -
Yeah good idea, play a really boring game requiring zero skill or ability.
0 -
What do you mean? It's in the game, just as flashlights.
0 -
I don't have an issue with flashlights countering strong killers like nurse or hag, or that suggestion posted recently about them revealing a phasing spirit, but them working against wraith feels pretty cheap (like trapper + old toolboxes) so it should probably go.
Or you could just buff wraith instead0 -
Hiya! I'm 90% sure that was me following you around, just like any normal person with a flashlight would do when looking to get a flashlight stun on a killer picking someone injured up.
Easiest way to counter the whole thing? Don't cloak. That's really it. If there's a dude with a trailing you around and you know he's there, why would you cloak anyway? Hell, hiding behind a wall for a sec ruins it anyway since the time to stun is so long now. Even after getting burned for the... second time? Third?
