Waving hands on hook means camping/nearby/don't save!!! Flicking hands means come!!!
FFS just had a incidious Bubba in the basement and I wave my hands around and like a noob a purple rank tries to come and save me!!!
I was happy to sit there waving my hands and tapping away for second hook till death as the generators should have flown by.
Can everyone please understand that waving hands that it is safe makes no sense as what would you do with the Bubba, sit there not waving hands? #rantover

I address this in pre-chat.
Waving hands means camping killer.
Flicking hands means come save.

There’s a lot of camping bubbas around at the moment. I’ve been running kindred which helps.
Had a game earlier where someone got hooked in basement and surprise surprise the insidious bubba was just camping out in the corner. There was no way I was going down to get them or we’d both be dead but one of the other survivors had no idea and went for the save and ended up on a hook right next to them.

I've tried to block other survivors from going into the basement before but they didn't seem to get the message.
I've heard some people say hands waving is for come and get me!!! In this scenario would they just hang on hook???

The difference between a flick and a wave is not distinct enough. If you are moving your hands at all, it means killer is nearby. Otherwise, come save.

I'll hang on the hook and if nobody comes I'll flick until I see one on their way.
Map wide comms would fix this issue of none or two survivors unhooking me

I have never heard of a survivor arm flick. That seems complicated. Is it a 'flick' or a 'wave'...as I'm starring at an aura 40m away?
I've always heard it as:
No arm movement = you're all clear
Waves = you're being camped
This seems much more definitive. LOL

if i run near a hook and the killer is patrolling or camping and they were waving I just leave them to fate. Its globally meant camper for years now I aint letting any new free weekenders change my mind

I personally don't care I'll do w/e I feel like lol I don't care if your camped or not
All your waving hands do is tell me were the fun is

AAAAAAND another day to fresh up the non-comm communication, very welcome.
I also use no movement to say "all save" and flapping to say "being camped". And when noone is coming, I do 95% of the animation to say "I need to kobe cuz noone helps me, pls someone"
I hope the flapping should be clear to understand, would be great if all three methods get common

Tapping / Flapping is where the arms don't go above 45 degrees but hardly used as most people get saved

It’s basically tapping the mouse. To me it means that come here you lil sh_t or I get 2 hooked.

Occasional flicking is 45 degrees or below for someone please start coming to get me
Above 45 degrees is flappy bird for Piggy is camping me do gens please

Hahahaha Ive played for 2 years and never knew that there was a difference. I did always notice that a killer will get agitated and paranoid if I ever waved at him to make him think a survivor was near. Next time I ll either wave or flick

I learned the exact opposite, and survivors always know what it means when I do it.

You'll probably notice people doing gens instead of coming to save you straight away then, the flapping has been a sign of camping since the game came out. Up to you bud but it will just confuse your fellow survivors especially when Ghostface pulls them off the generator and thus making signaling even more confusing for survivors (except SWFs)

I’ve been playing for about 3,000 hrs and nobody comes unless you flap your arms. When you flick them, they stop.

I can only think you were playing with the green rank survivor who was doing this, it always seems to be the new ones that wave their arms thinking they are signalling for someone to save them

Yeah, this is what I've been going by, and I'm sticking to it, lol.

Not saying I’m right, just saying this is the first time I’ve heard of this.

The problem is, no one can actually agree on this so there is no right answer anymore. If any of us are in a game with you specifically, that information is useful, but otherwise there's no guarantee that the random people we're matched with will have the same understanding of 'hook language'.

Yeah, I'm not recognizing the arm flick as a thing.
I am not going to try and gauge the degree to which you move your arms to decipher your message.
If you're moving your arms at all, I am going to assume you are being camped and I will not save you. LOL
But alas, I run Kindered, so for the most part I already know what the deal is. 😂

Unfortunately 90% of players use the arm wave as a "hurry up and rescue me" motion, which is ridiculous. People already know to rescue you. It's a pointless and meaningless to wave your arms for that. In fact you may reduce the chances of people rescuing you, as most, correctly, assume that it means you are being camped. Survivors need to universally accept that it means they are being camped. I often run kindred, but stealth killers can get around that, and some of my survivors don't have it. It would be nice to be able to rely on players using the arm waves properly.
