Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

What's so unbelievable about a Survivor that loves facing killers like Freddy and Spirit?

I just want to preface this with saying, yes, I am a Spirit main. No, I don't play Freddy, I suck at playing as him. Yes, this thread is made in response to another thread. No, this thread isn't about balance discussions. This thread is about people seemingly thinking it's impossible for someone to have fun when facing killers like the two mentioned.

Right, lads. It's me again, I'm pretty sure I have a pleathora of controversial threads under my belt right now. And here's the next one.

I've mentioned in various threads in the forums that I love to be challenged as both Survivor and Killer, that I think playing Killer is easy, and that I think the only detriment playing Survivor has is if you play Solo and your random teammates screw you over. Basically, I think playing as either side is really easy right now. And I think that is a massive issue and problem, as this means until we get the MMR update, Survivors and Killers won't exactly be matched with Survivors and Killers who are matched with their rank and skill.

Which is why, as of right now, I am perfectly fine with killers like Freddy, Spirit, heck even Ghostface (because I know people find his no Terror Radius BS) to exist. In fact I'd love for Killers like these to continue existing even after the MMR update because they pose a challenge, a threat to me as a Survivor that no one Killer is able to replicate.

The way you counter them is unique, it forces you to change your strategy sometimes midgame or get inside the mind of the Killer and think what they are thinking while they are chasing you. It basically is a real true challenge for a Survivor. To survive, to sometimes make sacrifices, to go for reckless and risky strategies.

And like I've always said in my posts, maybe I am an exception. It sure sounds like it when it comes to this forum. Basically every single one of my opinions is the exact opposite of what seems to be the popular opinion.

I think Object of Obsession is fine.

I think Survive With Friends aren't overpowered. I think there should be more people playing with Friends because Randoms tend to give the most boring games as both sides unless they know what they are doing.

I think Decisive Strike is both underpowered and overpowered at the same time. It should only be used as an actual anti-tunneling perk. Probably should have 2 charges, infinite duration during a chase, but deactivates whenever someone else gets hooked, or 60 seconds is up while out of chase. (I'm pretty sure my opinion on this is literally just myself)

I think the Nurse rework is fine, she's still fun to play as and against.

And I think the recent update is fantastic, I love the new map changes on both sides.

The list goes on.

I've said it time and time again, I know I am probably the exception when it comes to stuff like this. I know a lot of people will disagree with me on stuff like this. And I am aware that some people have valid reasons as to why they think certain things I disagree with should be changed.

The only thing I think is an invalid reason is thinking a Killer/Perk is boring to go up against. Or thinking they are uncounterable, but are unwilling to learn how to counter them.

That just bugs me, it frustrates me as a player. But maybe it's because I am a lot more hardcore when it comes to challenges than most players like a certain someone has mentioned to me.

I do get why you would get frustrated with a Killer/Perk you find boring, heck, I hate going against Legion because his power forces me to not be in a chase with them because they will run off away from me after hitting me once. I want to be chased, I wanna be in chases. But Legion denies me that and forces me to mend over and over again. But I do not DC against them, I still try to play against them, and when they do chase me, I try to make sure they never get to use their power if I can.

Then again maybe I am taking a casual game way too seriously. Maybe I just adore something the majority of the community doesn't.

But, why should I stop caring about how competitive I am and the kind of killers I want to face when the forums has thread after thread asking for Killers and Perks to be nerfed just because the players who want them nerfed are unwilling to try and try to beat them, or are unwilling to learn how to beat them, or are unwilling to accept that their loss is the result of their own mistakes, not necessarily because their opponent is overpowered?

As always, I never make threads like these with the intention of sewing dissent or cause people to argue, or be bitter with each other. But I am honestly just kinda sick of being told my opinions and voice is invalid just because it's not the norm or the majority?

I want the game to be hard, brutal, absolutely intense as a Survivor. That's why I love Moris.

I want the game to be difficult, challenging, and forces me to outwit 4 highly skilled players. That's why I love OoO SWF teams.

And I know my opinions are not something most people consider reasonable. I want a casual game to feel very competitive and difficult for both sides. Whatever changes the devs make, I will accept them because it is their game and not mine. Whatever they feel is necessary to keep the game alive, up to them.

If they feel Spirit, Freddy, or Billy deserves to be nerfed, who am I to judge their decisions? It just means I have to keep bringing my A-Game as both sides.

Sorry for the long text wall/rant/rambling/whatever this turned out to be. But I just needed to get this out. Hope to see you guys in the fog, and if we do meet, bring your best items and perks. Show me the best you got, because that is all I want from Dead by Daylight. To be heavily challenged by Survivors and Killers to the point where it can feel unfair.

Might stick around to reply to some replies to this thread, but I'm just gonna enjoy the rest of my morning (It's 1 AM in Aussie time) playing in the new update.

I personally beg for a Spirit every match, my friends hate it but I love her so much <3

And is it not satisfying af to win chases against Spirit? That stuff is exciting.

It is isn't it? I always screenshot my Chaser Emblems whenever I finish playing games against her. Usually it's a Goldie or an Iri <3

To me Spirit matches are great. It really brings out the use of Iron Will and Spinechill, and her chases are unique.

As for Freddy, majority of them use Forever Freddy, a build that uses Jump Rope and Swing chains, usually paired with other slowdown perks.

Additionally, in the chase they just spam portals, making each loop impossible to run.

They require more than one braincells to counter them

I do admit Freddy players who play like that tend to play with a more boring playstyle, it's basically Legion on steroids (and I mentioned that I dislike Legion). But it doesn't bother me as much as Legion though because Freddy himself is still rather fun to chase around. If they spam snares they tend to be horrible at chases.

I know someone who is a Godly Freddy and he literally never uses snares, only teleportation. Basically playing him purely as an M1 and Teleporation Killer. I dread playing against him. Because I know I will lose even without him using Snares or Pallets. He is just that good. And that skill is transferred to the other Killers he mains like Doctor and Hillbilly. Such a good player, I honestly wish more people are like him.

You have some unpopular opinions, which seem to polarize a lot, but that's okay.

I'm in the same boat as you with some of your opinions.

I even enjoy chases against Nurses, because i don't have to run in circles and drop the pallet in the right moment.

And looking at these forums.. being loud isn't an indication of being right.

I hate Spirit because of the lack of reliable counter-play she has.

It's fine if the Killer requires a lot of skill to preform well like Nurse, but Spirit is just too easy.

I don't hate Freddy, but he is a little boring to play as and against.

I love facing Spirit (I run Iron Will always) because when I mindgame her, it gives me a euphoric feeling.

Freddy? I hate facing him. Same build every time.

Pop, Thana, BBQ, NOED. Every... Single.... Time.

Plus most PS4 Freddies are toxic. Smack the hooked survivor, tunnel them immediately off hook, and nod if they catch you.

In response to the title, I don't find it impossible as everyone has different feelings. I personally hate going against a Freddy, Spirit, Hag and Nurse because they're just really boring and unfun killers for me to play against in my opinion. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions so I don't judge anyone who likes going against any of these killers <3 they're just not my favourite.
