Is Nurse really worth it to learn?
Don’t get me wrong, I love Nurse and her aesthetic and she is still by far the best killer in the game...but her skill cap is so high that a majority of players are not willing to play her.
Honestly why would you put hours and hours into getting bullied as Nurse when you can play Spirit and pretty much get the same results? Nurse is better but not by much. Spirit is basically Nurse but easier to play while getting the same results.
I also play on PS4 so playing Nurse is rough. Wish I was good at Nurse but it takes so much time to master her blinks and she is extremely punishing if you screw up.

As long as the survivor wasn't already good at evading Nurse before the rework I can usually 4k. If they were good though they can make a 400+ hour Nurse feel like a 2 hour Nurse with all of her bugs, limitations, and bullshit from dedicated servers.
I would say keep going if you really like the character from top to bottom like me, but that was if you were on PC. On console? Give up? Learn someone else, like Freddy or a non-aim sensitive killer. She's really a M&K killer.

On PS4? No way, not worth it.
On PC? I still see some nurses running around perkless/add-on-less at red ranks absolutely slaying people.
3 -
I'm a Nurse main and no.
She's still riddled with bugs and they haven't addressed them.
4 -
It really depends what you're trying to get out of it. You're right in saying that other killers, like Spirit and Freddy, can do almost as well as Nurse for a fraction of the effort, so she's not the right pick if you're trying to maximise your reward to investment ratio. People who put the effort into learning Nurse usually do it because they enjoy her playstyle, because they want to feel like they've really earned their wins, because they like the challenge or the prestige of mastering the hardest killer in the game, or a combination of the above.

If you wanna feel non existence against loops do it.

Or they just played her before the nerf and have the muscle memory down. She really isn't that hard if you have the map knowledge of the game, and have a few hundred hours on her. I started off with billy, then swapped to nurse many many years ago because she was just that overpowered.
Sometimes I still mess up a blink but nail a survivor anyways and it looks like I outplayed them from their side.

Nope nope nope! Stay away from her. Before her nerf it was already a difficult killer to learn. But at least she wasn't that boring and frustrating, you were fast all the time. Now it's just a super annoying and frustating killer. Even when you master her at one point and shred every lobby I will guarantee you you won't have any fun. That's my experience with her. I destroy lobbys but do I have fun? Nope
3 -
Nope. I mained her every day for two weeks straight, got to where I could do well with her, but its just not worth it. I can do just as well with hag, or doc, or spirit with less frustration.
2 -
As a dedicated main, I think she is worth it. You will struggle at first, but she has more potential than almost any other killer. The sensitivity changes on console make her much more viable now. As others have said, she has her share of bugs, but even with that, she is still less frustrating than playing M1 killers....LOL.
2 -
I disagree. Before her nerf she was insanely overpowered. I remember feeling great about murdering people with some perfect predictions through walls.
Now? You put on "im all ears" and get wallhacks for free.
She has been nerfed, but rightly so. I don't kill people as fast as nurse on any other killer in the game. I don't play her often, because she is so easy, and also annoying with the constant self stuns. It usually takes me a few games to warm up on her though.
But if you want to 3-4k? Nothing is better. Not even Spirit.

The reason I'd much rather play nurse over spirit is BECAUSE of the challenge. Not everything is about winning and just because I could play spirit half asleep and get the same results doesn't mean I actually want to. I think nurse is a lot more fun because she requires a bit of skill from the player. Not a ton but enough to make it engaging and fun for me. Spirit is just so incredibly dull to play. There's nothing to her. So I don't agree with the "spirit is the same as Nurse" statement.

Don’t master Nurse: you’ll be part of the 99% of people who “play both sides” or “main killer” but never bothered to learn the nurse.
Master Nurse: you’ll understand the game on a whole different level than most people.
*Note, this goes for all Killers you should learn to play as and against.

Sadly, this patch has broke blinks; fatigue times can either be faster than usual or extremely slower, you sometimes can chop around the map instead of a smooth blink because the servers are broke, you sometimes do short blinks even if you charge your blink enough (which has honestly broke my muscle memory), and sometimes your second blink won't even work AT ALL until you either hit someone or perform an action.
When it isn't broke? It's probably not worth it to try to get into her anymore. If you tried to get into Nurse before the rework, you could do it fairly easier than you can do it now because you can learn from the mistakes you made when blinking compared to being punished for missing even 1 blink with a 3-second cooldown instead of being able to get your muscle memory down. It's still possible, but you have to wait so long at this point to get the muscle memory down that its better to use both recharge add-ons just to get a grip on how to use her.
Is it worth it in the end? It depends on how long you plan to spend your days playing DBD. This is because you have to spend hours now just to get some basic concepts down compared to before, when someone who has things they need to do every day could sit down and ENJOY PLAYING HER. It's not enjoyable being punished for trying to learn a killer (or servers screwing you over) in such a demeanor that you could lose a lot of chases just by being unlucky.
TL;DR:
Nurse will always be the strongest killer in the game if you know how to use her.
She is now extremely hard to get down due to how long you now physically need to train your muscle memory.
She isn't fun to learn, and it's arguable that it's fun to play as her depending on if the servers have a good day or not.

Yes, teleporting 5 times through walls to down people was very hard.
She now still one of the few killers who can equip all tracking perks, eat DS for breakfast as you relentlessly tunnel down people, and still be fine.
There is a reason she was the killer you saw 80%+ of the time at red ranks before her nerfs. It was obnoxious to only see one killer in the game. I am glad she got nerfed into the floor, even though she is still the killer with the most potential in the game.
2 -
Every time I try her, I give up. LOL if you manage to get good at Nurse, mad respect. <3

I’m sorry I though OP asked if it was worth it learning Nurse now, not pre-patch Nurse. Forgive me, how can I have missed that.
0 -
She is still the best killer in the game. Her only counters are some corn maps, the treatment theatre, or playing terribly. Or maybe playing on console but that almost doesn't count does it?
1 -
There is a difference between sensibly nerfing a killer because they need it, and nerfing her way into the ground so that no inexperienced player can learn her in a timely manner. Her add-ons were ridiculous, but people who had skill with her used her without addons. What they SHOULD'VE done is nerf Nurse in a way that makes her more fun and skillful to use as well as nerfing the add-ons. Adding a cooldown does make playing Nurse more skill, but in the wrong way.

Or dead zones, or 99% charged blinks, or pallet stun+blink fatigue together, etc.
But you couldn’t have missed this stuff unless you played Nurse post patch, which I’m sure you do, right?

I'm talking about the fun aspect.

Best killer based on what? The stats say other wise even at red ranks. She feels awful to play right now as well.
1 -
No. Especially not on PS4. Play Spirit.
0 -
If the community has ever learned something, it's that the dev stats are skewed. The amount of good Nurses vs. bad are maybe 1 in 8, and that 1/8th is what the nerf of Nurse in the first place was based off of.
Nurse is broken atm, she's stuttery and is an overall glitchfest. However, that's just THIS patch. While some glitches (like not being able to blink twice) remain from the last build, that's the game's fault and not the Killer.

I dont think nurse is that strong. I was nurse main at a time and i can say that Spirit is way stronger than Nurse. Nurse has more counters than Spirit. She s also not fun to play. Everytime you destroy survivors you feel pain. I switched to hillbilly and he the opposite. Good to feel solid ground beneath you and have decent speed.
1 -
Spirit is unfun to play simply because of how easy it is. As well as that, survivors nowadays tend to throw the match if they know it's a Spirit because it's unfun for them aswell. Can I blame them? No.
While Hillbilly can be good, a good Nurse will always do better in a chase against a good survivor regardless because of the loop potential Billy has.
1 -
The stats mean nothing. That's why you can look at the win-rates of some of the champions played at a professional level on League of Legends and they are like 30-40% winrates. Because they are nerfed based around the top players, who still destroy with them.
Dead zones sound great for nurse. Her add-ons let her basically play the exact same as pre-nerf nurse. I have played and 3-4k'd plenty as nurse post nerf, but usually don't because she is and has always been annoying to play. But that doesn't mean she isn't the strongest killer. Kalista is annoying as hell to play in League of Legends, but is a regular pick or ban at the professional level in Korea, with a sub ~40% winrate publicly.
1 -
I have to agree with @Shocktober the stats aren’t very useful in a tier list. Nurse has one of the lowest win rates but she’s obviously better than a killer like Trapper who is more picked and has a higher win rate.

It’s not the fact that I don’t want a challenge, it’s just that I simply don’t know if putting the investment, time, and hours (not to mention the constant survivor escapes until you’re actually decent at Nurse) into Nurse is really worth it for MAYBE a better pay off than a killer like Spirit. Especially because I play on console.
Yes I have mained Spirit since her release (not so much nowadays though) and I don’t think she’s braindead but it does get boring playing her after a while.
And when I compared Spirit and Nurse I meant that they both are basically ghosts, can teleport, and are the two best killers in the game. Spirit’s phase walk is just an easier version of Nurse’s blink.
Just that Nurse requires a lot more muscle memory and is mechanical more difficult while with Spirit you just need to know how to track survivors and use your ears over your eyes:

No, if you are playing on the console. I would never consider nurse. If you want to sweat for kills, play Spirit or Billy.
0 -
She has an awesome aesthetic, if that factors in. If you find her fun, go for it. But it's a commitment. She's the only killer that will consistently get you compliments on 4ks.
0 -
I think a lot of people over-exaggerate exactly how hard she is to play. I'm not saying she's brainless to play, but I think for being the strongest killer, it's a small price to play to put in some hours to learn her. Especially because it's not some herculean task just to know how to hold down a button and predict a survivor's movement.
0 -
I mained Nurse since mid 2017 until her "Rework" (secretly nerf) and i'll say no it's not worth learning her as of now, as there's so many factors working against you. Bugs since her release are still there, map designs & her 3 second recharge per blink.
1 -
I tried the nurse for the daily challenge and put her on my never play list. The survivors are to good and they avoid every attack and you're punished with the animation of blinking at the end.
You should be able to blink and not get the animation unless you hit a successful hit on a survivor. She's way to slow to chase down a survivor to even hit them with a normal attack.
Nurse is a killer that just isn't worth doing to me.
0 -
Well, I would say it is, you can always say that you mastered a killer that barely anyone did. Even if you don't get to master her. I know, you will probably be bullied and that's not cool. I am not a "nurse main" but would love to.
My advice is to use the Plaid Flannel so you will get an idea on how long she can go, then keep practicing without it. My second advice is don't be afraid in blinking, you will have to wait more between blinks with the rework but the only way to get better at blinking is making mistakes with them and practice with them.

fatigue times can either be faster than usual or extremely slower
Wow I thought it was just me thinking sometimes it took forever to go into fatigue on some hits, glad to see it's a bug.

Yeah, it's pretty dumb. I played against Yerv yesterday and he noticed how broke Nurse is atm aswell
0 -
Yes! Been learning and practicing Nurse on Xbox for a few weeks now. All killers is worth learning and Nurse is very different to all other killers, so she is not just another killer.
I get bored fast so I'm switching killers all the time. Nurse is pretty fun to play and a very good killer, so no reason not to learn.

You're playing Nurse. On a console.
God bless you

I'd say that if you are patient enough, I think she is worth learning. I started learning her around 1 month ago, I'm finally starting to get decent, even if I have much more to learn about her, but I discovered a killer ultra fun to play. She feels really rewarding, guessing is a part of her gameplay I like too. I'd say the only problem is that she has a lot of bugs.

Wait until you get players that actually know how to play against Nurse, and you have to change your strategy constantly to get them by surprise. It's easy after a long time of studying how survivors move versus a Nurse, but you'll be bullied until you do.
Playing Nurse is like playing a championship game of Chess; you constantly need to think up strategies on the fly based on how your opponent moves to win. While someone who loves Chess will also love Nurse, you can't play her in long stretches because it becomes too mentally tiring to do so without taking a break.

she is a bugged piece of trash. calling her the best killer is delusional cause most people don't know how to abuse dead zones against her on some maps and her cd makes her unplayable on demo's map, freddy's map, and doc's map.
