Can i just say something?

Can we ######### apretiate the devs for once their doing their best. Coding is hard it takes time and when you add something its bound to mess something else up. Give them a break their probally burnt out by now doing the same thing over and over just to get berated by selfish people who want everything to be perfect. You try making a game even half as decent as this one and you'll see that its hard. So stop complaining and just enjoy the damn game.

Sadly your words will fall on deaf ears. Even my brother is telling me the devs are incompetent, it's honestly pretty disappointing.

DBD is still a fun game, it functions and despite the bugs and the spaghetti code the devs still manage to create a fun experience for both sides, so the least we can do is thank them for that and not be too hard on them when they're trying to fix bugs in this game in particular.

Sorry, but coding really isn't that hard once the game is made. The have the code already, now they can literally change numbers already in the code to fix things. Map changes are drag and drop matters since they already have the assets. The dev's are incompetent because they havent changed or fixed problems in the 4 years this games been around. They are really lucky the game has been alive for that long, maybe they should appreciate that instead of removing events and adding battle passes.

Yes, however my counter argumene is that - The mid-chapter was so PTB for 2-3 weeks.

And people did tell them bugs that were active during it and those weren't fixed. Like that Hillbilly thing that's going on right now.

Let's back the forgiveness and patience train up here for a moment, and pump the white knight brakes.

Ever since the dawn of this game, with every single patch they release, not only do they break something (and it's usually something they have broken countless times before, like audio), but they do things that nobody asked for. Not to mention all their absolutely abysmal balance choices (such as the ruin nerf BEFORE maps were changed, when it should have been at the same time). Add that to the fact that they started doing PTB's a long time ago, and you'd think "Oh, pre-release beta's! This will lessen the bugs/issues!", only to realize that the actual release 90% of the time releases in nearly the exact same sate as it was in the PTB.

So, with them breaking vital things with nearly every single update, and not actually making good use of a PTB even once in their history....and then this HUGE mess of a buggy update, if this is their "best"...my god they need to have some serious retraining done.

I don't mind expressing my gratitude, but that's not really what the forums are for.

Besides, i like the idea that i show my appreciation by still playing regularly after almost 4 years.

Sorry but I won't defend them anymore. They have been consistantly releasing very broken patches for a while now. Like there were pretty obvious bugs on the PTB and they didn't fix them on launch. They can delay the patch as much as they want, I won't mind it at all as long as they fix the bugs but they just don't.

Not to mention how they couldn't be bothered to add an option for disabling anti aliasing and how they didn't do anything to fix the deadzones on the PTB.

Honestly I am so glad they made this game to begin with. They have worked themselves to the bone to try their best to please all these entitled players. It's kinda ridiculous that people can't just stop and thank them for even making this game to begin with. Does it have bugs, well yeah, but all games do. I love the game and I think the developers deserve better than what this community is. Not everyone, but people are complaining about everything that doesn't go their way and I'm sick of it. The devs can't make it so everyone wins. People need to deal with that.

Still a better love story than Bethesda...

Sorry but I gotta disagree with you here

It's been 4 years and devs still haven't changed the base code of the game

It's a spaguetty code that something new can ruin something old

Devs are great at creating cosmetics, and sometimes awesome characters, but godamn the code should have been remade

The Devs do seem to be doing good work. Slow, and occasionally misguided (Anyone else cry in frustration when they gave their reasons for the Gearhead nerf last stream?) work, but still pretty good work. It's clear they want the game to be as balanced as possible. The design team is definitely amazing and the game itself looks great, and now we are finally getting basic map reworks (for the longest time, the most core of core issues). This alone has reinvigorated my faith that the Devs understand what they are doing.

That being said, there are some changes that would be extremely easy to implement and are practically no-brainers. For example: Locking keys and mori's. Not removing, not reworking, just locking them like event offerings til a better format can be found.

They didnt add anything tho. Just removed map tiles and number of pallets, quite the opposite of adding, we should call it not-adding or something.

  • nicknack
    nicknack Member Posts: 253

Well they did add things. They added more unsafe pallets.more dead zones. Alot more stuff but all im sayings is to just stop giving them crap. Be honest how would you feel if you had to code a game every day five days a week. Its tiring and just like other jobs can burn you out quickly but people dont understand that. They think that its because their being lazy or unwilling to but reworking many things adding other things just like anything else will mess something up. This past day ive seen so many posts giving devs crap and its really sad to see how this player base is when not everythings perfect.

  • yikers
    yikers Member Posts: 94

If they did a pretty good job so far maybe people wouldnt be giving them crap ?

Why would anyone praise the devs for adding dead zones ?

Praise for useless new perks ?

    etc.

If it really is that hard to make a fun game then sell it to someone who knows what they are doing.

  • nicknack
    nicknack Member Posts: 253

Really?is that what you have to say? Killers and survivors were complaining about safe pallets and how many safe areas there were and now that there is less the same people Are complaining that it's too unsafe. Make up your mind you people wanted that stuff now it's here, the people wanted perk nerfs they came and you still complain. You may not find it fun but others do and the devs have stated that they are passonate about it so back off them, because frankly your acting like you could do it better. You guys asked for this, and it was provided so the least you could do is not complain for a single day.

no,the fact you cant disable anti aliasing in this game is stupid on so many levels I just cant play this game anymore, its a complete joke at this point

ladies and gentlemen, we got our thread troll, who has no clue how coding works, thinks fixing issues is as simple as "changing numbers" or "drag&dropping assets", and, cherry on the cake, thinks nothing improved in the past 4 years, when any person with common sense wouldn't be able to count the improvements on their fingers.

keep it up, forum community, you're perfect the way you are...

  • AnarKaos
    AnarKaos Member Posts: 28

Right? Like coding is the equivalent to building in Minecraft or some time killer app. LOL

Even as simplistic as programming was in DOS (or Basic) "easy" changes were rarely as quick as changing numbers. These entitled jokers that think this way probably also think hacking works like in Fallout or Watchdogs.

Coding can be difficult but every updaye shouldnt have a chance to break sounds on either side. They have a bad case of spaghetti code which is one reason why they get such a hard time. Though it can just freak out and do something unexpected because of an unrelated issue. Still it shouldn't be as normalized as Bhvr experience.

I get that there are a lot of problems that should be a lot of changes that should have been made by now, but I think that people tend to forget that bHVR aren't a Triple-A company like Ubisoft, Blizzard or Epic Games. Those guys are MASSIVE and have larger teams working on games in general.

There is also the potential issue of using a somewhat outdated game engine, and while the game could be completely redone in a new game engine, there is also the issue of changing everyone to that new engine.

One thing that I will absolutely support bHVR for is that being a smaller company, there isn't the issue that a lot of them have taken to lately, with trying to have "broad market appeal". Dead by Daylight does seem to appeal to a very particular audience, and that is 100% ok.

I think the devs do need encouragement. And there isba difference between criticism and just douchebaggery.

That being said, the bug with huntress losing her devious points at the same time as releasing an archives focused on her is a bit much.

So yeah, for that i tell the devs to 'git gudder'! /s

  • arslaN

What do you mean by outdated game engine? Unreal Engine 4 is one of the best game engines available and it's used by a ton of game companies for all sorts of different games.

  • PigMainClaudette
    PigMainClaudette Member Posts: 3,842

The game is how old again? I thought that they might be using an older game engine, and this is why I also used the word potential when I brought it up.
