Old dbd players will understand
The year is 2016 the game was released.
The perks weren't one up the another, it was a line.
We'd had Brown perks and pink perks, and that one costs your whole bloodpoints.
Sprint burst activates every minute, even when you were being chased or you were running.
The most scary thing that I remember was seeing the HUD, that thing was so ugly.
Saboteur, oh that was delicious, you sabotage a hook, and never needed to do it again.
The amount of hacker was amazing, 4 survivors using hack and the killer with it too.
We'd had the brown and yellow map offerings, that even now days I don't understand why did they removed it.
No one used to look behind.
Skill checks were the most difficult thing on the game.
Wraith was really invisible.
We'd had hillbilly's space program, you uses your chainsaw on the harvester and fly away.
Vacuum pallets and windows could be used in literally the other side of the map.
You could flashlight save when the killer was hooking a survivor.
Killers, when breaking generators, had noodle legs.
The LAG, was so huge that you could escape just by it.
Our blood points were just counted to 5k, then it, it was just think when you had the 8k.
If you read to the end, vote up just because yes LOL, and if you have more memories from this game age comment. Thank you for reading

This is a USELESS thread.
When I look at your profile all I see is USELESS.
All your post start off USELESS.
I will never call you anything but USELESS.
....

I also miss the solid 10 seconds it took to buy each item from the bloodweb. Half my gameplay was watching strands of the Bloodweb slowly fill up as I held the button down.

Old shack with 2 windows and dont forget about the jungle gyms. Like today there is 1 pallet on the other side of either the longwall window or shortwall window. You could loop a killer into eternity with no entity blocker and fast vault if you just spress shift from any direction/speed.
Old killer vault animation/time. Old wretched shop with 3 windows was probably the safest space for any survivor in the whole game (except for the glitched spots, like disturbed ward top floor, crawling up next to a locker outside the building. Killers couldnt reach you).
There is a video of tru3 being juked there for minutes until he gives up.

i miss the atmosphare that this game had back in the day

I miss the old menu so much

The most funny thing I won't forget are floating pallets after you broke them. That was legit "space program". Pressing space to yeet those pallets into another galaxy.

Wraith being called OP back then is hilarious from today's point of view.
7 -
Wraith still pretty good. Just a bit weaker than before

I love the current Wraith tons more.

Double Windstorm or Purple Windstorm + All Seeing are insanely fun and strong combos.
Old wraith was great until people discovered you could sit at the old god windows, then trapper and trapping under the hook became everyone's go to killer.
God I hated trappers that wouldn't leave the hook and trap under it, that was no fun trying to edge yourself perfectly to get the disarm prompt over the unhook one.

About this old trap technic, it still possible, but harder

Don't forget the moon offerings. I never saw a difference anyway.

I feel like there should be an option for the line of perks tbh
0 -
The good old days when trapper was the strongest killer in the game just because he could trap under a hooked survivor and just camp with insidious
2 -
Youre mean wow

Change my mind, the line was better than the diamond. That said I don't miss the thick borders the perks used to have.

Does anyone remember the original Survivor run animation? It was hilarious.
3 -
Yeah, do you know why did they removed it?

Insta blinds though 🤤

Hooking a survivor as Wraith and cloak/uncloak over and over for blood points. Hooked survivors were basically free money!

I do hope you saw the sarcasm in my post and this isn't a real response.
If not look at the OPs name.

I will always miss original Tinkerer. Dual-speed addons+Original Tinkerer made Bubba crazy fast. I still remember starting my chainsaw in killer shack and hitting someone with that chainsaw attack at the jungle gym window that was NEXT TO the killer shack.
The survivor messaged me afterwards:
Survivor: "what the hell was that ?!"
Me: "Bubba on lots of good stuff 😎"
Tinkerer was a direct ability buff perk and thus allowed to spice things up. Really miss it.

I didn't used to use it too much, I remember using the old brutal strength that was literally 2 times better than the newer one

I miss not knowing that DBD exists. I played more games and had more fun. This game is ok but sooooo addictive.

It's more luck that technic, it already happened to me when I was playing trapper that one of my traps spawned under the hook, but me with my pickle brain, I picked the trap up instead of setting it up

The devs said that every killer add-on they added basically had to be coded twice, once for with tinkerer once for without. It got removed because it was just a pain to do, but I definitely miss it.
Numbers wise it was, but that's just because old pallet kick time was insanely slow. Old brutal and new brutal kick in the exact same amount of time, just new pallet kick is faster so Brutal gives less improvement

Anybody remember the cult of pizza dwight? You'd all put on the pizza outfit and just hide in the basement forever, keep moving around in a circle down there until the killer gave up and left the game or found you guys hiding in the basement.
Lol pizza dwights were on strike refusing to deliver throughout the realms of the fog.
I also remember falling through the floor of the map a few times, took a few screenshots when it happened.
And the old Cow Tree! Gosh, so many memories.
The best part was the blissful ignorance that these were low-key the worst days of Dead By Daylight. And hardly any of us even knew it lol
I also remember wishing for so many things back then, like for cosmetics for killers (killers would not see very many cosmetics for a long time until the Store eventually opened) or Ghostface to make it into the game. Crazy a lot of that came true, can't wait for the fourth anniversary to celebrate four years of this great amalgamation and celebration of horror: can't wait to see Candyman, Pennywise, Pinhead, The Xenomorph, hell maybe even Jason and Chucky someday! and all the great unique and creative stories bhvr comes up with on their own.
1 -
I can't imagine Chucky on the game, he is too small
0 -
I'm confident somehow, someway, someday, even if it's years down the line, the devs will figure something out.
Nature finds a way.
On a more serious creative note though, I've always kind of wanted BHVR to incorporate multiple height variations for their killers. It always felt so limiting to me that their only height classes are "Average" and "Tall". I would love for that to be expanded upon with two other categories on either side so that a spectrum is created going from: Short, Average, Tall, to Towering.
Reason for this being, for a game that prides itself on an asymmetrical experience, it feels weird that all the killers are about the same 2 heights. This not only answers the question for Chucky, but also greatly expands on the creative boundaries for what BHVR can come up with in terms of killers, we could maybe get a super creepy child-killer (not a killer who kills children, that's what Freddy is for, I mean a killer who is literally a child) that some people have asked for. On the other side of the spectrum BHVR might have killers who are even bigger than the "Tall" killers, the Oni is a great example of this in the trailer in his trailer the guy looks absolutely huge, even bigger than the tall lanky Michael Myers, but then it threw people off how he looked a bunch smaller in game. The Oni would be a perfect example of a "Towering" killer.
This also introduces a new dynamic when selecting killers gameplay-wise. Smaller killers might have the advantage of being harder to spot and even run loops better, but at the same time being so short might reduce their FOV and make it harder to pursue survivors. On the flip side being a Towering killer could make you much easier to spot, but also give you a kind of birds eye view / just a higher vantage point for the killers camera to see things they might not otherwise.
That's just my little shpeal about that, I don't mean to change the topic of conversation or derail the thread, I like reminiscing about the old days with my fellow veterans as much as anybody else. I just figured I'd throw that out there for some people to see and think about is all.

gosh, i really miss the days where i would watch streamers like 72hrs just 360 killers all day. those were good times...
now pepole treat killers like they're some kind of endangered species that need to be protected from the predator survivors...
0 -
I think towering it's ok. We could have siren head, but short would be to bad either sides, for survivors will be difficult to spot and for the killer it will be difficult to see something while in coldwind farm

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That may be true, but at the same time I've got this feeling that it wouldn't be as bad as people think it would be, it would just take some adjustment to the new mechanics being introduced, like any change in regards to balance or any new killer release. People thought the idea of a hatch being closed but the gates turning on was a terrible one and it either didn't solve the issue or created new issues, but for the most part the endgame collapse and all its associated mechanics have been received pretty positively.
It's a fun thought to think about either way. I'd make for some incredible variety character-wise.
