My vision for an end game rework
So this is a bit of an old idea I posted..however I feel the topic is relevant to many things in dbd right now so I'll being it back for dev and player alike to see .
So essentially it's my idea to rework the egc, moris, and keys..all at once..How does it work? Well we start with The moris..both keys and moris power spike the player using it , and turn the game on its head...I like spice in my games but its certainly not the best way to do it.yellow Mori offerings will no longer exist , theyll be base kit as it's way more entertaining and survivors will insta die if they're last anyway..Green and red moris now only work on death hook,/ however the killer receives 5k bp at the end game screen for each mori kill, survivors are granted 1k..kind of a glory kill bonus you could say.
Now I hate the idea of reducing moris to just this so dont worry it gets better from here . I have always felt the egc should activate upon the last gen..the timer is already very very long especially with someone downed plus the timer can always be extended if absolutely necessary.. .This change alone would light a fire under survivors a little bit , but with a twist..anyonecwjo would die upon their next hook can be moried at base at this time..the benafits to this are as follows
1. DS: My biggest grief with it is it grants a legit god mode during the egc..some reward for not tunneling..but with this it's fair as if your on death hook during EGC it's useless, but if not you still have an additional life as your not moriable.
2: way more fun use for moris and makes them a way to enhance the game instead of derail it, doing what they promised the EGC would do originally and "Bring the trial to a brutal close "
3: It gives killers one last shot to make something happen..it never made sense to me why the EGC had so much potential yet was completely squandered and does nothing in the majority of matches..it could be so much cooler.
Now it's time for keys..keys were a tad easier to fix as they being items makes my fix simple. Keys will now only be able to open black locks during the EGC..so this gives the last survivor a backup plan in case the match goes south but still allows the killer to react to the keys presence while once again not derailing the game out of nowhere. Now to compensate for this keys at base recieve a new function , with no addons needed keys will have the power to reveal your team to you during the channel, the benafits are as follows.
1: Green keys will have an actual use
2: The achievement for keys remains intact
3:keys overall see more use and have a function to enhance the game over derailing it randomly
The amount of things this idea addresses are surprisingly numerous and I feel itll really spice up what is currently the most boring part of the match and fix several glaring issues for both sides all at once..if you stuck around thank you for reading and if the devs read this..Well...hopefully this helps

So you want the 3 minute timer to start once the gens are done, Mori is now base kit, and best part of all during egc you now have no more chances even if you weren’t hooked because it’s not fair to the killer that they didn’t get any kills. So best choice is to just make it to where every survivor is on death hook. No the egc change and the hook change is a bad idea however the Mori and key changes are good.

You clearly didnt read what I wrote very well..

Egc is fine as is. It prevents survivors from holding the game hostage whilst also not discouraging altruism too much. No reason for DS to deactivate during egc except killer entitlement to free kills. DS secures trades and that's fine. Moris still encourage tunneling so that's not really the best change.

EGC is fine now. Devs have even said it was never meant to help killers get kills at all. If they do, lucky them. It was solely meant to prevent games being taken hostage ie. Hatch stand offs and survivors just staying around the exit gates.

Never said it was disabled and it's more fair than what we currently have

Doesnt matter what it was made for..doesn't mean it cant be better and it can

Good so I know you wont be adding anything to the convorsation ^^ discouraging ideas with no real reasoning behind it shows me I'll be talking to a stone wall

My my..you really are good at being unpleasant right now ..all you mentioned were second chance mechanics which are a tad too prevalent to begin with..this was meant to give both sides an "advantage " scenario..but I've indulged you plenty

Well actually you may want to respond to my DS thread. I even have some fun ideas suggested there.

I'll take a look see
0 -
Sure. Lets just go ahead with your idea. Lets just give killers everything they want. The devs do it anyway. Lol

I have a strong feeling you either didnt read or you fidnt understand what I wrote..either way both sides lose and benafit from this

My philosophy? If it can be improved or made more useful why not do it? The end game is exceedingly dull and this version of the egc makes it all the better..after all it's not like there isn't ample time..this just smooths out a few edges and sprinkles some spice on the dullest part of the trial

No, I read it, but all I saw were a lot of killer advantages that don't need to be added.

I'm going to take a wild guess that you are more a killer than a survivor.
No mori should be basekit during any point in the match. This is just obnoxious. I dont mind being mori'd every couple of matches because Killers wanted to burn an item. The animations make it kind of fun. I would not enjoy being mori'd as the last survivor on the map every. single. time. because every aspect of end game is stacked against a solo survivor. Insult to injury. Would get old extremely quickly. Hard pass.
People who have their DS in end game deserve to use it. They brought a perk at the risk of not having to use and went through the entire match with 3 perks as a result.
Killers have all match to "make something happen". They dont need any further advantages in end game. EGC is simply a mechanism to make sure people leave the match and already advantages Killers by pressuring survivors and ensures their time is not significantly wasted. It does exactly what it was designed to do. It doesn't need to do anything else.
Also, EGC is already a pile of bullshit for solo survivors, especially the last solo survivor. Under no circumstance should it start at the last gen. If for nothing else, this could be massively broken when combined with perks like BW. IMO, EGC shouldn't start until the door is open. Even if the hatch is closed. As someone often last in a match, EGC does not provide nearly enough time for the last remaining survivor to have a fair chance at escaping with door RNG and the number of high mobility and ranged Killers now in the game. It went from being an INFINITE amount of time to two minutes. There is NO circumstance that should make EGC even shorter. Killers already completely won this one.
Your key change is also garbo by comparison. A killer can tunnel a survivor to death and use their mori right away. A survivor cant even use their key unless they are the last person and EGC is active? No. Survivors don't need to be any more cucked during the end part of a match than they already are. Keys are used in matches farrrrrrr less than their mori/iri addon counterparts. They are fine as is.

Mm..maybe..I dunno really

Ok so your not really reading it then..my bad..wasting my time here

People who are saying "oh no moris are now basekit" obviously didn't read the damn post. How about you actually look into what someone says before you say something about it

Why do you have to be so rude, grow up

EGC is working as intended to the purpose it was intended for. It doesn't need any changes.
The default way to kill is by sacrifice, moris are an exception. As such, they always require a trade-off, i.e. spend bp on the offering, can't burn another offering. For these reasons, they should never be basekit, but I agree they should require far stricter conditions, instead of being a legalized cheat card as they are right now. Same with keys.

If you want to force the EGC on survivors so badly, you can always open one of the exit gates and start the timer.
0 -
Great I guess..but how do you do that without making them useless? And I'll repeat..it doesnt matter what the EGC started out to do
0 -
You miss the point I think
0 -
They wouldn't be useless. Mori'ing on death hook still allows to skip a step and works around DS.
And saying that it doesn't matter what the egc started to do is not a fact. It might not matter to you, but that's the extent of it. If you want heavy endgame pressure, you van run noed. Egc is not meant to enhance either side, compatibly with its primary scope.

Please tell me

Survivors shouldn't control the EGC to that degree
