I think its time we modify this current hook system.

since 2016 the dbd hook system has been extremely flawed and has caused many obvious issues: camping, tunneling, hook bombing/farming etc. newer asymetrical games (including death garden) have beautifully implemented a different altruism system that has had ZERO complaints about and has lead to both more fair and skilled matches.

if some are unaware of what those are; essentially when someone is downed, they are teleported to a location in an object that is unknown by the killer as this ultimately stops hard camping and tunneling while still providing pressure for the killer for getting a down. so how do we implement this with the hooks? simple...

once a survivor is hooked an animation of the entity taking them (but faster) goes through and theyre teleported to a pig box esk or a freddy dresser esk object that survivors need to run to, to get their team mates (altruism is still present). overall this would be extremely more healthy for the game as it would make games more fair instead of watching a bubba rev camp someone out of degeneracy. it also incentivises killers to go patrol gens right away making life for them easier deleting the camp mentality.

as dbd is the older and bigger game idk how something like this hasnt been implemented already.

    The thing is:

    - It makes flashlights completely useless outside of destroying Hag traps.

    - Kills, literally kills, a lot of perks.

    - Removes the possibility of saves once downed (bodyblocking, pallet saves).

    - Makes the game boring by simplifying the flow of the match even more.

    - What if they are sent right next to a Survivor? That removes any pressure from hooking survivors.

I think they should be transferred to the Entity's Chamber, where the Killer can't enter. It'd be kind of like the survivor's basement.

Adding on to your idea, what if the hook the survivor got hooked on is still disabled by Entity tentacles or whatever until they get unhooked?

Or just fix the hard camp killers

They could also buff the wiggle progression. I'd like it if Survivor get small bonuses if they've already been hooked or as the Killer gets closer to a hook.

Having a Survivor teleport somewhere takes a chunk of strategy away from the Killer. As much as I go for the nearest hook because it's easiest, sometimes it's better to plan out which hook to go to because it's further away from the other Survivors or gens, removing that and having them teleport to a random location will just add frustration to Killers if they end up next to a Survivor who can unhook them or a gen from them to work on when they get off.

Yes, Camping Killers are terrible and I hate them even though I mostly play Killer too, but the solution isn't to remove part of the control the Killer Players have in the game.

I'd rather the game keep its unique style and build upon it instead of copying other games that already had failed releases and are either re releasing themselves or dead.

I definitely agree, the hook situation is tiring and needs a change. but with that, comes lots of work.

I agree. Dbd's system may be flawed, but if they shelled out and reworked it it just wouldn't be the same.
