This patch hasn’t fixed gen speeds
The survivors objective is still too easy to accomplish, I play both sides and in my survivor games 8/10 at least two people escape . All survivors need to do is gens and waste the killers time by looping it’s so simple . This therefore makes killer stressful to play at times both sides should be enjoyable to play but unfortunately they are not atm . Now some people are gonna say your bad at killer , I played a game as huntress today and I was ending chases in less than 10-15 secs but as per the gems still flown by and one of them escaped . I honestly think the gen time should be increased by 10 seconds to make it 90 seconds per gen.

It's not even Gen speed that's the problem. It's the survivors having so many second chances there is no punishment for mistakes.
They should reduce the amount of pallets in a match to make the survivors to actually take reserving them into consideration again. The game kind of just went downhill since they added more pallets.

Even if Gen Time would be increased by 10 seconds, people will come here and cry they want additional 10 or 20 seconds.
If you have problems winning as Killer on those reworked Maps, you are probably at a too high Rank.

Ending chase fast is not enough. You need some strategy. Map control. Playstyle.

Gen time used to be 60 seconds if I remember correctly. Increasing gen times didn't solve the problem last time and I doubt it would solve the problem if they did it again. The problem with gen rushing is that there needs to be something to slow survivors down between 1 gen and the next. I've for a long time suggested that every time one gen is done, every other gen on the map gets reduced to 50% of it's progress. Or you could reduce repair speed for a certain percentage each time a gen is done. Either way, increasing gen times a 2nd time is about as likely to solve the problem as the first time they did it.

I think a big step would be to tweak survivor spawning. Without offerings, they should never spawn in 3-4 man squads and they should not spawn next to gens. Can't say a proper value as I don't know what is all behind it, but something like 16m away from gens would already help
If it is correct that he ends chases in 10-15 seconds, he is probably at the correct ranks (ignoring the fact that ranks mean nothing atm)

Every game has something that should slow the Survivors down - The Killer. But if the Killer is not good enough, what should the Survivors do? Just yesterday I had a game where we got all Gens done in like 10 minutes? Maybe 8, but not less. And the Killer was like "While Gen rushing? No fun." while using Iridescent Head.
What exactly should Survivors do when the Killer is not able to interrupt them?
(To be fair, it was on Ormond and this Map sucks... So not entirely the Killers fault)

I highly doubt it was 10-15 seconds. But it sounds better than "I took 2 minutes for my first down".
But I 100% agree that Survivors should not spawn together. Even tho, this might make it worse for the Killer since doing multiple Gens separately is better than hopping on a Gen with multiple people.

So I'm inferring that you're upset with gen speeds because you didn't get more than a 1/2k? Believe it or not, I've played several hours on Huntress and I don't always get a 4k. I sometimes get a 2k, 1k, 3k or sometimes 0k. You win some you lose some.

That’s terrible.. a camper would win every game if this happened. Camp first hook, survivors try to counter with gens, one pops and any others reduce by 50% or repair speed is slow down. Game over lol.

Yeah, I cant count the number of times where a group of us spawn around the same gen and complete it while the killer chases the one survivor who didnt spawn with us.

They literally reduced the map size and got rid of god loops.
What else do you want? This wasn't a patch to halt gen speed altogether, it was a patch to ease killer stress in matches.
It's been working fine, in my opinion.

well it might suprise you but survivors spawning away from eachother actually hurts the killer more. you can only chase 1 person remember so if they all spawn alone theyre all on a single gen meaning if the first person you find is good at looping you lose 3 gens instead of 2 (if they spawned together)

The true problem with gens are not how fast can be done with multiple survivors, but how multiple survivors SEPARATED can do gen fast. Imagine 3 survivors working on 3 gens alone and the killer is chasing an one survivor. When the killer downs the survivor, already the 3 gens can be done at this time. There is no way that any killer could apply pressure at this scenerio. If he could just leaved the chased survivor and go for other survivor, the previous survivor will just go to fix the gen, when the killer still ends up in the same scenario. It is better if survivors are working together at one gen.

Ironically, the killer getting a free down every time he hooks somebody would be very similar to survivors being able to pop 3 gens at the same time. Yet you hate if the killer can push multiple parts of his goal simultaneously but defend survivors being able to do it. Btw, survivors getting a penalty for completing a gen would be actually be similar to killers getting a penalty for hooking or downing which is ironically the case with a number of survivor perks.

It's really only an issue still on Mothers Dwelling where they can finish a gen before I can walk my ass over there. I know corrupt prevents that but if I'm playing legion I want the survivors to stay together and dont want to use corrupt and have them spread out.

And if one killer is able to down within seconds, then it is the Huntress. And you don't need to be an omega pro like with nurse to handle hatchet throws.

What kind of logic is this? So because people are in red ranks as killer, it's their fault for loosing? lol this makes literally no sense. OP is right, gen speeds are still too much and need nerfs. Killer's don't want free wins, but we shouldn't go into a game and think "yea this is a loss" before it even begins.

Nah, I mean that they probably dont belong to Red Ranks then. But Ranking up is too easy on both sides, so on both sides people who dont belong to Red Ranks are in Red Ranks. And think they should be there, which is wrong.
Besides what was already written, there is also a Scoring Event (Reunited)... And for me its simply wrong to see this pop up 3 times at the start of the match. Does not feel right.

It makes perfect sense. These survivors are going through endless trials of torture, they have got to have met each other in another trial or at a campfire at some point.

One of the major problems this game has is the maps are too survivor-sided. When you go up against survivors who know what they're doing, everything becomes clear.

Wholeheartedly agree. It's kinda ridiculous how DS still punishes me for tunneling and how survivors still escape if I don't pressure them. Idk why the devs continue to overlook these obvious issues in game design.

Make gens harder to find for survivors.
Removing lightpoles, darken spots, obscure them with structures ect
Make killers kicks more powerful so they are more useful as it stands a survivor tap is far more powerful then a killer kick... regression is a joke.
Require easily obtainable fuses for generator starts so they can't be just instantly worked on constantly and instantly, creating a sort of warm up for the early game trail
Trail difficulty should be influenced by rank for certain. Difficulty for both sides should go up for each bracket.
Purple ranks= less perks
Red ranks= longer gen times/less hooks

Gen speed is perfectly fine. Killers have many gen perks that can counter gen rushing. The problem with you killers is that you focus too much time on one survivor and don't proxy gens. Of course gens are gonna get done when you don't go to them.

Yea this is just silly lol. Ranking up is far from easy on either side, especially in soloque. All you are saying is an excuse as too why gens get done fast instead of the actual problem, which is gen speeds.

They already changed gen speeds. Before it was sixty seconds now its eighty and this patch wasnt suposed to do anything but change the repair penalty for multiple survivors. Like others have said if they nerfed gen speeds before and it didnt work it wolnt work the next time.

That's not how that works at all my dude lol. Could you imagine Riot nerfing a character once, they are still super OP and they just go "yeah we did the best we can." If a nerf wasn't enough nerf them again, because even with the intent of letting weaker killers get too gens faster it still fails in that regard since a gen or two is still done by the time someone is hooked.

And I've had games where 4 gens were done in 5 minutes and I had 12 hooks. That's absolutely insane and unwinnable for all but Nurse, Spirit, Billy. The only reason I won is due to my skill on Nurse. Those are the players people talk about when they mention broken gen times. It's still too easy for high level survivors.

I don't understand this pseudo nicey-nicey thing killers have been doing since this forum started.
They'll go on about having to play dirty all match to get wins, constantly "having" to slug etc, but you tell them that you can slug to counter DS and they come back with "But survivors don't like being slugged", as if they've ever cared before, same thing here "I didn't want survivors to spend more time on the hook because they don't like it" knowing full well you and everyone here will tunnel and camp at the slightest hint a match may be difficult.

Are you sure ? Which rank do you have ? In my opinion you still dont have many hours in game.
1) A lot of maps are now less secure
2) Gen time nerf
3) Window nerf

Example from ALT acc (no, i dont troll, i just do tests). I was using NO SLOWDOWN perks, NO POP, just 2 "silly" perks from Ghost Face, a classic sloppy butcher and Ranchor (useless until the end)... It means i was playing with 3, 3 perks without Slowdown at all.....
Gen are OK, probably your gameplay need fixes. I am sure if you pay more attention in game, you play more hours or you use just a better combo of perks, you can do 1000 times better than me.

The game is at it's most balanced in years. Good killers are winning pretty easily atm unless they are facing a swf. As long as you apply good pressure at the right times then you'll win most games.

Some killers don't have map control. Some killers are underpowered. In fact most are, there are really only 3 viable killers in this game, and that is terrible

The problem is both gen speed and second chance perks mixed in with how good swf is a survivor can go from having only 4 perks to x4 because of his swf now mix in how fast gens CAN go if they know what there doing then it’s just insane ..honestly just wait for the new MMR system high lvl games will be hell

For starters, the idea that "at least" 2 people escape is a fallacy. The latest stats before the patch clarified that even the worst killers have a 50% kill rate or better, which means all killers average at least 2 kills per match. BEFORE loops got taken out, gens slowed, dead space added, palettes removed, etc. Also, as far as BHVR is concerned, 2 people dying and 2 people surviving is considered balance.
You are complaining because 1 person escaped your match...?? They are supposed to?? You are not supposed to 4k every single match?? That would be the definition of imbalance by this game's standards. LOL Just because you didn't 4k doesn't mean there is anything wrong with gen speeds.

I am not proving i am good in this game, i am not proving i am bad in this game. I'm just proving that gen speed is not a problem posting a screen where ou can see i am not using at all slowdown perks.
Disclaimer: Of course i had to do some extra work without slowdown perks but it's not an impossible situation (if you apply some strat, you do pressure at gens and you dont do a lot of errors in match). And survivors were good, a good SWF, they were not Potato.
