Should the pigs boxes be changed?
Hear me out on this.
Before y'all start, I'm rank 3 on survivors so I understand the game.
I really really, like playing against pig. She's scary, she feels fair, her mechanic slows down the game really nicely and actually gets your heart pumping. Overall, I just just really like her. The problem is that her boxes' design is just far too simple. Its like the trapper issue of either being insanely lucky or just getting a death sentence with no counter play sometimes. I've legitimately had games where I sprint across the map and die anyway because it just happened to be the last box, or the pig just happened to be near the last box so I couldn't do it. That's what inspired me to write this post. My last 2 games against pig I sprinted the entire time but she was defending a gen next to the last box so there was legitimately nothing I could do.
Similarly, I've had plenty of games where the pig just gets steamrolled because people just keep getting the masks of instantly.
The mechanic should be more consistent and more counterable. Pigs should be able to trust that their boxes will slow people down significantly, but survivors should never just be screwed.
My thought right now is simply to spawn 5-6 boxes every game and survivors have to activate 3 boxes to escape the trap. This way you never just get unlucky with the placement and auto-lose, but the pig also can't simply get unlucky and get insta-escapes every time. This would probably reduce tunneling by pigs since they know you'll be occupied.

That would be pretty cool. Sort of like each box has a key but you need 3 keys to get it off?

I never liked the idea of using skill checks for remove RBTs, it doesn't feel as unique. Also it's funny how the survivor is literally putting their hands into the box, getting cut up and bleeding, but nothing actually happens to them and it's all visual.

tbh I'd like them to remove the rng from the boxes cause imo its bad for both the killer and the survivors. It can take 1 try or 4 try and die before, nobody knows. its a huge lack of consistency to play around

Yeah, I dont mean to say that they couldn't do anything cooler at all. But the bigger the change, the less likely they go for it, unless really necessary. That's why i recommended something simply that could be done almost instantly. They could always go for a bigger change later.

Could do increasing chances of removal for every box. 1: 0%, 2: 50%, 3: 80% etc.
you always have to do at least two boxes but highly unlikely More than 3
technically, the chances do already go up because... math... if there’s four boxes, and yours is randomly chosen, it’s:
first: 25%, (1 out of 4)
second 33%, (1 out of 3 Total, you already searched one box)
third: 50%, (1 out of 2)
fourth 100% (if there are 4 boxes)
Ok math lesson over
tldr: make it so it’ll probably be your second or third box. Never first and probably very very rarely the fourth. Unless an extra box is added.

Yeah, I really wish there was something else going on with the traps rather than just RNG and, "Haha, you died because it wasn't any of THOSE boxes!" or "Haha, Pig lost all their masks for nothing!"
It'd be neat if there were some really Saw-themed choice to make with regards to removing it. Like being able to take one health state from a nearby survivor to immediately remove the mask. (Yes, I know that would be TERRIBLE and never actually happen! :D )

Interesting,i always hated the idea of powers with a RNG factor like Trapper and Pig have.
