When people say "survivors have perks for every situation".
When they have 19 killers to verse that can also have various builds. Each build works better for one killer more than for another. Am i right?

DS, BT, Unbreakable and DH/SB works against any killer. That's the problem.

I'm mad i don't see flip flop or boil over used more. So many interesting perks but most r1 survivors use the same predictable builds...

DS is basically useless against spirit or nurse. Clown can counter ds to some extent . BT is useless against killers with low TR or just a killer that dont come back to hook at the moment of the save. DH doesnt work against insta down killers as good as it suppose to.
3 -
DS is a momentum breaker, so it's godlike against spirit and nurse. BT triggers against any killer (except scratched mirror myers lol) if you time it right. DH works against instadown killers after your first hook. SB is a good alternative. Unbreakable counters slugging = the counter to DS.

Survivors have more all purpose perks than killers. The meta perks are so dang strong when combined. Pop, corrupt, and bbq are about the only all purpose killer perks. Everything else is specialized.

BT doesn't work against silent killers/freddy.
DH doesn't work 1/3rd of the time.
Also, none of these are a 'problem'.
6 -
Because most r1 Killers use the same predictable play style they need to counter.

Really a survivor main response to an open ended post. I'm not taking sides im saying killers have more build varieties then survivors use. You ether have a camping killer or one who hooks u and walks away, 50/50 but survivors have the same build over and over again 10/90 in R1.
I see thrilling tremors used, endurance, i just always see different killer builds. But survivors seem to just build for being tunneled. Sad, isn't it?
One of the beat survivors I know runs Windows of Opportunity. Thats nice to see.

Doesn't work against me.
1 -
They mean any killer in the roster of killers players can pick from.
Not that they can work against any killer player and most definitely not against a godlike individual such as yourself.
0 -
U're completely right on that. Both sides use the same perks over and over. Atleast it's like that in my games.
2 -
Nothing "godlike" about me. I literally just go after other people. Dead Hard still gets me some times, but not as badly as other killers claim.
I just never tunnel, slug occasionally when pressure is needed, never camp, main a Stealth killer but always target the unhooker if they're close anyway. I don't have a 100% kill rate though, but I don't have 4 escapes ever. 99.9% of the time I get at least one kill. I think.
4 -
Every silent killer needs to get out of undetectable to attack (except scratched mirror myers). And against freddy you can be awake if you wanna use BT. So yeah it works against every killer with one exception (a meme build).
DH got way more consistent in the last patch. And it doesn't got counters if used for distance.
Doesn't said they're a problem btw. xD

Because you're a god with Pig, that's not really a fair comparison. :(
0 -
I'm no god. I'm Rank 11 for several reasons. Almo is probably a better Piggy than me.
0 -
Because meta perks usually always help and they help tremendously. Other perks just... Meh.
0 -
It ends up being useless 99% of the time because even if you get your full recovery you'll still be within walking distance of a hook...

What is sad is that Survivors HAVE to carry the same build because regardless of the very different Killers abilities and perks, every killer plays the same. The vast majority of killers in this game camp, tunnel, or slug. Not "50%", almost every single match this play style comes into play. Which is why in order to level the playing field against this inevitable game play, that doesn't require a specific killer or perk set to execute, survivors have to bring the same boring ######### perks every time.
You think survivors don't WANT to carry other perks? Sure we do. But we also want to escape or not see our teammates die because a Killer has a hard-on for them. Every time I change out a typical meta perk for something else...something fun that would allow me to change up my play style or try a new tactic...I am made to instantly regret it because inevitably the killer plays exactly as expected and I'm left without a perk to combat it.
Killers have the luxury of being able to add more variety because all killers are different, with different strengths and abilities, before you even add on unique perks. All survivors are the same.
So, sure, it is sad. But you're never gonna stop Killers from camping/tunneling/slugging as long as BHVR continues to reward it...so you're never going to see the majority of survivors gravitate to more unique perks. I have one available perk slot that I change around, depending on how the day is going. Even then, it just rotates between Unbreakable or Kindered. *yay variety* 🙄
The only alleviation of this is when you play SWF, because you don't need 4 of every meta perk. But I play solo. So my build is pretty much locked in to try and give me and my teammates the best chance against the games most unfun and rampant play style.
5 -
To be fair Boil Over is only good on indoor maps, and even then it's still pretty bad.
1 -
Really haven't seen a game without DS lol
But survivors have 12 slots as a team that if they build together can absolutely handle any killer.
If they build with the meta in mind and know that only 4 killers are strong right now and build against them its power.
So everyone takes 3 perks to live and then the 4th is a team slot
So SB adrenaline DS or whatever your fav combo is
And then the savor takes BT +toolbox
The gen jockey takes provethy+ map
Runner takes head on +medkit
Bone patrol takes small game +flashlight
Everyone covers a second roll with the item slot in case someone gets found or chased out of turn.
We've also found its fastest to do 2 stacks then 3 or 4 on gens and its better to spread out but be near.
Using coms gives us kindred and all the aura reading perks basically on base kit

dont tunnel, dont camp, dont slug, keep hunting. all of this perks have counters. amazing, right?

Behavior doesnt reward this playstyle. They are punished by the emblem system for being too close to a hook. Killing everyone on first hook or not getting in enough chases.
Survivors reward camping by unhooking in killers faces before giving the killer a chance to leave.
Crappy as it is for the first person killed, a quick death makes the game easier for the killer. The one thing the emblem system rewards is downing the unhooked, as killers are penalized for survivors healing.
A full redesign of the game would be needed to fix that.

BHVR absolutely rewards this play style, 100%. They are not punished, or it wouldn't be a go-to play style at Red Ranks. You would like to think it's not rewarding, but it is. And the game goes a step further and even ENCOURAGES this behavior by inputting challenges like the one where Killers need to death hook everyone in the basement.
"Survivors reward camping by unhooking in a killers face before giving the killer a chance to leave"....if a killer is CAMPING, they aren't leaving. This doesn't make sense. I think you're trying to say that it's a survivor's "fault" that face camping can be viable because they feed the killer. Which has its merits as an argument. But, this happens because a camping killer is ruining everyone's match. And aside from just being empathetic humans who want everyone to get a chance to play the game, survivors need off-hooks, heals, chase, bold, etc. to pip and gain points. Killers can gain points A LOT quicker doing less because their pts are not shared.
An unfed, face camping killer is probably the least rewarded of them all, but still racks up decent BP and depending on how their post-kill game progresses will at least safety PIP. If they couple this with NOED, they will very likely get more than one kill.
And facecamping is just one of these considerations. A Killer who doesn't face camp, but proxy camps to return to every hook and tunnel the off-hooked survivor is HEAVILY rewarded for this behavior. Assuming people don't kill themselves on hook because this is no fun at all, the Killer amasses tons of points for finding, hitting, re-hooking, and ultimately sacrificing survivors...and can do so pretty quickly. Couple proxying, which often allows you to return to the hook for the off-hook animation and hit the off-hooker, with slugging the off-hooked survivor and downing the un-hooker, and the game slows down immensely and now you have two opportunities to tunnel/down your next two survivors. Lather, rinse, repeat...this tactic is not difficult and highly rewarded...which is why THIS is more frequently seen in Red Ranks than something like an insidious camping Bubba.
And because all of these tactics are allowed AND provide killers with decent BP/pips, they are rampant in the game. Thus, again, survivors - especially solos - don't have much option to vary perks and instead need to be mindful that these are consistently used play styles that require specific counter perks for the best probability of survival.

Camping Isn't rewarded and is supremely punishable by the gens getting knocked out while the killer waste time. You solo que I get that but killers only camped because it pretty much became a SWF hot zone. If you all didn't flock to the hooks at the same time to make a save you probably would get away. I've won so many games with only 1 person on the hook during EGC
Cause survivors wanna play tbag hero and save EVERYONE. Do u think killers enjoy going thru hell to catch someone just so u can have a second chance and a third chance to just get away with all the bs perks. Some killers are not that great and are forced to play this way due to the current matchmaking but if you honestly believe a killer enjoys to sit by a hook all day and stare at your ugly mug you're mistaken
1 -
Every single one of them? Sure. The combination? No. I get hit with DS regularily and i'm a freaking fair killer. I play only solo queue fiy.

BT doesn't work against Stealth killers, so not just scratched mirror myers. It also doesn't work against Freddy at all unless you're awake. So yeah, BT can be useless for a lot of killers
0 -
Some of those work against me... some of the time
I suffer from CRS... (Can't Remember "bad word" Syndrome)
But then again it's hard to remember everything in a 4v1 situation)

Deja Vu, Flip-flop, Mettle of Man, and Hope also works against any killer. More problems I guess?
1 -
So you're mad r1 survivors are trying to survive? K.

Arnt you flashlight clicker? And its not like other perks are a deathsentence. Relax kid :<
0 -
Using other perks can be a death sentence. Like @NursesBootie said, that's a problem.
0 -
it would be a shame picking a perk to help you with traps and you go against a billy :S
Perks should be kinda generic, unless you get to know the killer you are facing.
2 -
Yep, and there is no counter to this build for any killer. There are no perks the killers have to counter it, only mitigate it, and only slightly.
0 -
Same goes for every killer perk.
0 -
Play the game like it is meant to be played and none of this will affect your progress significiantly.
0 -
Where did you get that dead hard stat from fren
0 -
Personal experience from being paired with people who insist on using it while remarking, "######### DEAD HARD!" every time it doesn't work, at least once a match. I have never run it because it is well known to be buggy.

When you verse Spirit , Nurse , Freddy for example you may not even use unbreakable because those killers are not good at slugging and you most likely not going to use ds because they will either eat it and down you in split second or just counter it. On the other hand you would most like need unbreakable if you verse Oni or Billy.
0 -
BT does work on silent killers depending on the situation. Wraith just needs to be uncloaked, Freddy you just need to be awake, ghost face...make sure he’s not in stealth mode, same with pig. Freddy is probably the hardest to get BT to work against but it is possible
agreed that DH is broken. It hardly ever works.

I wanted to get ash but the sale ended so I only bought Laurie for DS and yui for... The pallet perk and her looks I guess
0 -
You talking with a guy that handicap himself on purpose by playing with no addons.
0 -
(he's a god, i know it)
0 -
Honestly, i think so too. We only need to adjust the powerlevel of some perks.
0 -
Maybe people would use flip flop or boil over if the hooks weren't "patched" to be located right next to each other.
0 -
Those killers are good at slugging, what are you on?
0 -
Same. I don't devote enough time and BP to killer to waste all of my favoured add-ons.
0 -
A Killer who is coming to tunnel someone off a hook is not going to come in uncloaked/stealthed/etc. and get hit with BT. They will simply wait until you off hook and come out of crouch/stealth/invis. If you take a hit from Freddy as an off-hooker in order to get your BT save, it ruins your BT as getting hit puts you in the dream state. So, I guess if you want to get technical BT can work against all killers...it simply won't because all killers who can have a zero terror radius can avoid it very easily.
0 -
They can easily avoid it but in 98% of those situations I’ve been in the killer doesn’t. I was just merely pointing out that bt can work on all killers but like I said it depends on the situation
0 -
BT technically doesn't work against stealth killers, but it creates situations where its a free escape anyway:
- Cloaked wraith - Free unhook, you can bodyblock for the unhooked guy
- Pig - Free unhook cause shes crouched, can bodyblock again
- Ghostface in stealth - Only a very well timed stealth activation will work here, but you can bait unhook and put him on cooldown
- Myers - Terror radius isn't small enough
- Freddy - Make an awake survivor unhook so BT activates, another survivor bodyblockes the unhooker.

The thing I always tell people if they want advice is to play both sides as killer and surviver. Half of these people haven't done that, I play both sides as a rank 1. I'm telling you, you really don't need to rely on your perks as killer or surviver, you just need to know what the other person might be thinking in order to avoid or kill them.
Perks are easy to go up against when playing as killer!
- unbreakable along with ds can only be used once in a match, just don't tunnel unless you need to! (if you feel like they have unbreakable let them use it, then they can't use it anymore)
- dead hard and sprint burst are to help survivers, once they use it they can't use it while still in a chase unless they take a break!
- borrowed time is fine the way it is! I don't know why people complain about that perk. Just don't tunnel or camp!
Killers complain about perks when in reality you should try in think like a surviver and play the game knowing what they have in mind.
Survivers do use the same perks over and over but thats because they are trying to survive... You know... Like the name says.
