Official Statement on Macros??
During today's Q&A the devs said they would not be changing the struggle mechanic, because they want the struggle to feel real. That's great, but some people can no longer play survivor due to carpal tunnel and such.
Can we get an official statement from devs that using macros is fine??

Couldn't you use a controller or would carpal tunnel still be an issue?

The struggle doesn't feel real beyond the first few hours. The only thing that feels real is my arthritis and the hit my wallet takes when I have to buy new equipment because of a repeated button mash mechanic straight out of 2005. They're ridiculously out of touch on this issue. Many other games have an option to change repeated button presses to button holds.

You're still mashing the same button over and over, it wouldn't make a difference. Honestly it's worse in a way, as someone who's heavily into DMC, rhythm and FPS games, my hands have taken more of a toll playing DMC on a controller than they have playing games on a keyboard.

Macros are definitely fine. I've been using one for struggling on hook and haven't been banned so...unless this comment gets me banned it's fine lmao

It's fine. I use macros with my logitech mouse for like 3 years.

Macros just means instruction and in this context a computed/automatic one.
In this context the OP is referring to having an automatic struggle feature due to health conditions. I don't have any of these health issues but pressing my struggle key can get tiring for me too.

The whole "We want you to feel immersed with fighting back the Entity" statement bullshit is what really rubbed me the wrong way. You mean feeling ######### immersed in a video game is more important than preventing your players from carpal tunnel? Caring for the people with arthritis?
The devs can straight up go ######### themselves on this one

Just use a macro. If you get punished for it, just report it and we'll bring out the torches and pitchforks.
Seriously, no-one likes this forced struggle mechanic. It wears down equiptment and inflames pre-existing medical problems that are extremely common among gamers, not to mention the professions that most gamers come from. If anything can get this community united, it will be getting rid of the forced button-mash.

It's easy to say that when you're not the one being punished.

I've been openly using a macro for nearly a year. This is the advice I give everyone that asks that question.
