Dead by daylight with Unreal Engine 5
Regarding the recent news that epic games unveiled its new graphics engine for 2021, they believe that there will be a possibility that they update the entire game with the new graphics engine for all available platforms. I would really like to see that new facelift that the game could have

I can only imagine the number of bugs that would bring...

I'd honestly be willing to risk it; imagine if they could re-code the game from the ground up to remove all the spaghetti code too (even though that may take several years). Plus, I'll take better graphics so long as current performance isn't harmed. I'm already at 13fps as an average, I don't fancy more issues.

Recoding the game from the ground up won't happen. The effort that would take is enormous and not worth the payoff.

I know it would be difficult to make the whole game from scratch but at least I would like to see those graphics with the new engine

Not "difficult" so much as "ridiculously expensive and require the entire team of developers to do it while sinking all the company's money into it".

Just because it won't happen (ever, I know) doesn't mean I can't dream about it.
But yeah, even if that won't happen, I'd love to see it in UE5 provided there's no massive performance drops.

High Definition bugs!

Killer stands at window the survivor vaulted a few moments ago and swings his weapon, records hit on survivor that's now 32m away.

I am a solo Unreal Engine 4 dev. I am honestly surprise the game is design in UE4.
The issue I see is not an engine issue. UE4 is capable of far better visuals then what we have in DBD. The coding for certain can be improved, but so is the lighting. But even so, many assets in DBD are pretty low quality. Many textures looks muddy, some low res. so are the polygons.
I am it is okay for currrent gen. But if the game is to continue though next gen. They need to seriously rework most of the assets & lightings or start from stratch & made DBD 2.

It would be wonderful, but with all the platforms they're supporting, I don't see it happening. Sorry.

Better would be if they made DBD 2 using the new Unreal engine. Not sure if there are any plans for that though. Trying to retool the current game to fit would be too difficult.

He said the bugs it "would" bring, not current issues.

I'd probably have to set my graphics to the lowest of the lowest to be able to run the game with that engine.

This would most likely leave a bunch of people unable to run the game properly. So I can't see this happening.
