Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Is motion blur bannable?

I want to try and find a way to put motion blur on dead by daylight, I don't know if that, in any way, gives me an unfair advantage but I really like playing The Forest with motion blur because it gives it a little edge to realism. Is this a bannable offense if I put motion blur on my game?

I got told the same question by a friend because he says a youtuber/streamer uses it, but I told him not to do ir because it's graphically beautiful but makes it harder to spot things like survivors in corners if you're moving the camera. I don't know if there is any game filter about it in the nvidia geforec experience which is not banable. You can also try to search for settings for the engine.ini file, wouldn't be banable too since it just enables/disables ingame settings, but I wouldn't recommend you try other way because that would be banable.

Since this question was answered, I have one of my own. Out of curiosity: why would you want motion blur if you're looking for realism? It's a camera effect, like chromatic aberration. It's less realistic.

I don’t know, when i play the forest with it enabled it gives a much more intense and realistic feel. when something is running st me and i can’t see it crystal clear like dbd, it just feels more frantic than not, yknow? nevermind for asking though, everybody on these forums has to counter my posts in every way imaginable

Not trying to counter, just curious as to why people like motion blur. Your explanation makes sense.
