Killer has priority over survivor?

so I don't understand why killer always seems to have priority over survivor when it comes to hatch. Even if I get to hatch first. Is there a certain angle or a trick to beat the killer when it comes to a stare down at hatch?

No I'm talking about i get to hatch first before it opens and the killer comes after and it becomes a stare down. Both waiting for it to open.

Killer will have priority in that instance.

If you're both at the hatch before it opens (and the killer is standing in the right spot), the killer gets priority.

I've been halfway through the escape animation when the killer closes the hatch and I get pulled back into the game. Pretty dumb

Yeah, the killer has priority. You think the survivor should be able to outmuscle the killer in that case? If so, why?

Killer actions have always priority. Thats how these dedicated servers work.

Yes if I get there first. I'm dead center and got there first. Why is it that killer can be on the side and still close it? I think its dumb.

If the killer is standing on the hatch, the survivor cannot jump in. But if both the survivor and the killer are standing around the hatch, the survivor might escape. In that case it's pure luck I guess.

It depends on your connection. I've tested it and I don't feel that preference exists for neither side.

I just went against freddy. I was being chased while the last teammate was on hook. As I'm being chased my teammate dies on hook and I happen to run into the hatch as im being chased. I stand dead center on top of hatch and the freddy was off to the side of hatch and it became a stare down. The hatch opens and he closes it.

The only netcode priority the killer has is hits. Its clientside for them. But in the latest developers stream they said they were gonna remove that. Survivors have a bunch of priorities in the netcode, like grabs, flashlight blind & saves, pickup & hook (for the DS skillcheck), and a bunch of others.

If the killer got 3 people before you finished all 5 gens, they deserve that 4k.

I get it my problem is that I got there first and sat dead center of the hatch. To me that seems like I should get priority

You stood on the hatch, but the killer could still close the hatch from the side, while you couldn't have jumped in from the side if the killer had stood on the hatch. That is kinda bullshit. In a case like this (when you stand on the hatch -> so basically you were on the hatch first) the killer should have to down you before he can close the hatch. That would at least increase the chances of the survivor escaping.

Agree. The freddy didn't attack me he wanted a stare down. I dont get why killers can stand in the center of hatch and block u but survivors can't do that. My main problem is that I got there first and I stood dead center and he still got to close it.

Still complaining about this, even AFTER the nerf that stopped killer from grabbing your asses as you jumped in.

And people say the killers are needy. 🙄

It's as if your next to something several times your characters strength

Why is it that killer can sit dead center of the hatch and block you but you can't do the same thing to them

Yes the killer takes priority personally I don't care either way I feel like you should use logic when it comes to certain situations.

If you I think that the killers going to arrive there before it opens and might possibly get the priority on it abandon the hatch and go for a gate. If you know the killer mostly gets priority and you know the killers going to arrive at the Hatch long before it opens you can't really shocked Pikachu face when the killer gets priority

I thought this was going to be a different discussion. But I feel like the killer has priority for a lot of different actions. Some of it might be down to the servers or whatever,as far as the hatch or other things, but it does seem like it.

Killer action pretty much always takes priority and in the case of the hatch, it's extremely killer sided in that you can be literally standing on it and they can close it on you, but if they are even standing near it, you cannot jump in. There is no way to better get the hatch - you just have to be far enough ahead of the Killer, otherwise you're dead.

It's supposed to be this way but it's not.

If the survivor is standing on the hatch it should block the close hatch prompt. I've been robbed of hatch escapes even when I got there a full second first because hatch close animation cancels the hatch jump animation. It's seriously dumb.

Shouldn't you be happy? Survivors were the center of attention for years.

First of all I do not care about any other priority or survivor sided action. I'm simply saying I got to hatch FIRST and sat in the dead CENTER of hatch and the killer STILL closed it on me. Whats that about?

Because that would highly encourage hatch camping as soon as it would spawn especially in a situation with 2 survivors left.

Killer gets priority because they did their work protecting the gens and killing off majority of the team, and you and your team failed to complete the gens.

If the hatch were supposed to be survivor sided, then it would be a really FREE escape. But thats not. Its just a CHANCE survivors can take.

If the Killer get there first before you fan jump in you still have the doors.

And no, its not impossible to escape though the doors once the hatch is closed.

Wanna hear a trick? Wait on one door for the killer to leave, start opening it BUT cancel slighty before the first light shows up and hide. Wait for the killer and when he suddenly leaves again open it completly. This way i almost always escape unless the killer can see both doors from one spot. (Which really should be changed)
