How would you feel if Pinhead was the new killer?

There's been a lot of new speculation for Pinhead recently, with many considering him the most likely candidate for the new killer. If he actually did turn out to be this new killer, how would you feel about it?

    Ehh,

I haven’t seen the movie in a long time. The hype is not really there for me. I’ll probably revisit the movie again if he is the killer.

I mean do like his aesthetic as a killer. It’s very unique.

I also haven’t seen Candyman in a long time. However, the hype was there for me because I remember as a kid being afraid to say his name 5 times lol. It was fun and scary at the same time lol .

Gameplay is the real deal breaker here, doesn't matter who it is as long as it's fun for both sides.

I've never seen Hellraiser so I'd only really care if their perks were decent and the power was fun. Oh and if the map looks cool.

I'm sketchy on my Hellraiser knowledge, but doesn't Pinhead chase after some evil sorcerer dude in his films?

How would they fit in as a Survivor?

No...people are looking for something a little more with sex than what most people want. Pinhead and the cenobytes oblige by giving maximum pain to go with it. In the first 2 they arent even bad guys necessarily, more like a force of nature. Like a tornado. You should absolutely check the first 2 out. CLASSIC.

Of course I'd prefer it to be Alien, but it really comes down to how he plays. I'd be glad to welcome him to the roster and play him if he plays fun and fair for both sides.

I like him, and the movies, but he doesn't really fit. He's not a killer than runs around killing people.

Not mad or disappointed, that's for sure. Im interested on what his powers shall be and the perks both killer and survivor will give.

A little dissapointed,Alien,Jason, Or Pennywise would be better Dlc,Even Candyman If he Comes With Helen, as survivor.

Really hope not. Never saw the movies and dont care to. Of all the theories this and pennywise are bottom of the list. Really hoping cote was purposely trolling and not serious with that hint the night before the livestream. They've actually been so good about not leaking anything, to have cote of all people spill the beans this late would be rediculous.

I want to see random chains sprouting from places (drains, trees, walls) the cellar hook made up like the post that Pinhead had in the 2nd movie with all of those faces.

His mori better be skinning the person, twisting them up to become a Cenobite.

We could also have the map in space, from the bloodline movie where it turns into the Box. Or a rug, like in Weaveworld where they are mentioned. Lol

I want to see how the handle the box cause there are rules with it. Pinhead and his kin can be summoned or banished with it, the person who has it can get scared and hurt, but not killed.

And the survivor better be Kristy cause Pinhead clearly has a fixation for her. Or a member of the Merchant family as a predecessor did make the first box which was used to summon the Princess to a nasty nobleman.

Hellraiser in all of its incarnations has been watched in my household growing up.

So the cenobites are just the supernatural embodiments of S&M?

There's no soul collecting? No chasing after evil sorcerers who thought they could get away with making a deal with the devil?

Hellraiser is just about some nonhuman perverts scaring human perverts?

Well, my interest in a Hellraiser chapter, and in the movies, just died.

"This new chapter will feature a classic license, one that has marked the world of horror since its inception."

I bring this quote up again and again. The 1989 film is based on a 1986 novella by Clive Barker. Maybe to some zoomers out there that was pre-industrial age, but in the grand scheme of horror fiction and even film, that's a very late entry.

So maybe BHVR doesn't know their horror history - or it's a typo because of a language barrier or whatnot, but if this statement is correct - there is virtually no chance of it being Pinhead, Pennywise or Candyman. Xenomroph would be the most plausible but still a big stretch. You have to look back further into licenses that start to fall into public domain. This raises new questions of course but it's something to consider. Frankenstein's Monster in the likeness of Boris Karloff while being a really uninteresting killer, would be the only killer I could think of that would fit the bill of being licensed AND there from the beginning. There are so many possibilities but it has a bigger shot than I'd have ever thought.

It'd be disappointing, but just because personally it's not an Emotional Milestone. Need much bigger for that.

I made an out-there post about Imhotep (The Mummy) the other day for the simple reason that its "Classic", very classic.

Though, Pinhead is looking more and more likely

They may have been referring to the inception of the film, not the inception of the genre.

Well there is soul collecting...its kind of hard to explain πŸ˜‚ but yeah the whole movie (1 and 2 at least) is based around sex. Theres even a giant monster at one point trying to eat Kirsty thats...well...phallic πŸ˜‚

Im not doing it justice. Its totally worth the watch

I have no idea where the sorcerer thing came from. Theres a ton of occult references πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

    Who you callin' Pinhead?

Jokes aside, I'd be alright with it. Personally I'd be excited for Candyman or Jason the most, but I'd be cool with anybody as long as the power is good and they don't make the character into an actual joke just for them to be able to fit in the game

Hellraiser was my least favorite in the genre. Maybe it would help me learn to like it? Not a fan of Pinhead though and I hope it is a different killer.

Currently my list for the candidates being talked about is Alien, Pennywise, and Candyman. The two dark horses that I would love are Jack Torrence and Hannibal Lecter.

Pyramid head and Pinhead are both at the bottom of my wish list, with Imhotep being somewhere in the middle. I've heard other speculations, and at this point it could be anybody. It'd be cool if the bees and Candyman references were to draw us off the real killer, but if they aren't I'd be happy with Candyman.

My initial reaction would be a little disappointed, but that’s mainly because my expectations have been built up to hopes of Jason or something completely out of nowhere and mind blowing like Jack Torrance. After that feeling fades, I’d be fine with Pinhead. It could be worse. Of all the names most talked about, Candyman would be the legit letdown, or something like Pyramid head would be awful.

    Everyone has a preference.

My first choice is Jason, and Pinhead is my second.

Now I understand there is a lot of younger players who aren't familiar with Pinhead or the Hellraiser films. Pennywise is obviously a big favourite because he's been exposed to a modern audience in a popular reboot. Pinhead hasn't.

If we get Pinhead, I will be pleased but disappointed that it's not Jason.

My third choice is Maniac Cop...and that ain't happening! 🀭

    I'd be... fine I guess.

I just don't know ANYTHING about Pinhead, and the Hellraiser wiki doesn't help any. I mean, he looks cool, so there's that.

I'll still buy him and play him because I honestly love this game, even with it's many flaws.

The sorcerer isn't the dealbreaker; the fact that it's more about sexual gratification via pain and less about eldritch horrors from hell and the perils of tampering with the occult is.

I probably just had it inaccurately explained to me.

A friend, who encouraged me to watch it, gave me a brief summary of the story by saying some sorcerer tries to one up some demons he's summoned by sacrificing the souls of others so he doesn't have to lose his, and Pinhead tries to catch him.

I didn't watch it, because I didn't think a horror movie where both the protagonist is as bad as the antagonist would be too enjoyable.

If it's mostly just about sex though, I can understand why my friend toned it down\made it vague in description (I'm a bit of a prude).

  • Dead_by_Gadfly
    Dead_by_Gadfly Member Posts: 3,772

Oh its for sure about the dangers of messing with the occult. Thats not the central theme but you could make the argument its an underlying message.

A guy has so much sex hes unsatisfied with it. He summons the cenobytes using an occult puzzle box believing that with that comes unimaginable pleasure. Through a stroke of luck he manages to escape and tries to *ahem* restore himself by eating the souls of people with a little help.

Hes not a sorcerer though? Not sure where your friend got that. And the guy is the antagonist, Kirsty Cotton is the protagonist, Pinhead and the cenobytes are a force of nature wreaking havoc on both sides. It would be like a movie where a guy summons a tornado thinking its a good thing but then regretting it and the protagonist just trying to stay alive despite both of them.

Its on Shudder if you have that, totally worth a watch

    Agreed on most being cash-grabs.

The original was great, the second was very good, and I like the third too.

The majority of the rest were just bad with Pinhead appearing for mere minutes in some of them.

And torture porn. The Hellraiser franchise has interesting lore and psychological aspects that could be explored, but they're wasted on making torture porn cash-grabs for people who just want to see big blood splatters.

I agree they could of really made something of the franchise as it progressed. There were some interesting paths to go down...but instead it was just nonsense.
