How about having slightly bigger base hook distances

Lets be real, the biggest reason DS is used in the first place, is due to the massive amount of hooks that are within a 50 meter range practically anywhere. Basically, in the current state of the game, there is not a single hook in the game that is far enough for someone to wiggle off, even if we're including Flip-Flop at max recovery, Breakout, bodyblocking and sabotaging hooks, odds are still pretty much that you get hooked regardless.

DS is literally 1 perk that is better than 2 perks at their best, people risking their lives and destroying killer objectives.

THAT is the reason why DS is so commonly used in the first place.

Ofcourse that doesnt mean for hooks to spawn at least 50m apart, having 2 close hooks is just as advantageous to the killer as having 2 generators spawn on the opposite sides of the map is advantageous to survivors. However, I have yet to find a single location on the map where I can use Flip-Flop as effectively as I can use DS. Not that I use DS, but if I ever do use flip-flop, I always instantly wish I'd have picked DS instead.

    I disagree.

It's nor primarily run because it's an escape from a hook, it's run because it's a free escape from being downed. Hook distance is only useful in this conversation to distract from that real issue.

You're not meant to escape by wiggling out, it's primary purpose is to force the killer to hook you nearby where you were downed instead of bringing you to the basement every single time. If all it took was Flip-Flop to have a good chance at AVOIDING hooks altogether the meta would be wiggle-out loadouts mixed with sabotage set-ups. But it's not. Right now it's all about second chances [DS, DH, BT, etc...] and making it take as much time and hits as possible to down someone.

I used to think there were too many hooks until i started playing as a killer after getting burnt out on survivor. If it were easy to wiggle out or if every time someone was carried it was a close call it would basically break the game. Wiggling is to punish a killer who didnt notice a closer hook, and as coppersly put, a deterrent to throw people in the basement

I agree, flipflop alone shouldnt affect wriggling to a point of countering being hooked. But Flipflop being fully charged kinda should have some impact. I mean, it would be a punishment for leaving people slugged. Let alone that if someone else used breakout to aid in wriggling, that still means the killer has 20 meters reach.

I also play killer, and even with current wiggling, I can easily reach the basement in a lot of cases where I dont think I should be able to. I got someone from halfway Bradham's School to the basement. Maybe he was at 99.9% on escaping, but going from halfway of the map to the basement without Agi or Iron Will is simply too much. Essentially, the killer already should want to hook a survivor as close as possible to not waste any time walking to a further hook in the first place. Giving the killer the ability to essentially walk halfway across the map and still have enough time to hook is ridiculous. If the wiggle meter is meant as a way to force killers away from far away hooks, then why can I still reach 50% of the hooks from practically any point on the map?
