Why do so many Pigs tunnel off the hook.
Is it me ...or why? They put the RBT on you come back when you are rescued and tunnel you right back down or go get you at the jigsaw box.
It seems unnecessary when playing the pig. You already gave the survivor a new priority. Why not chase someone else?

I see that with a lot of Pig players too. Just like Wraiths and Ghostfaces who stealth and lurk around the hook waiting to tunnel.

The trap is still just a slow down tool tho, just cuz you have one on your head doesn't mesn you're not fair game. Yeah its not the best use of your time, but sometimes you need the added pressure of slugging the guy, or just rehooking them in order to kill them quickly

I guess. It's just when they straight tunnel you off the hook with the trap on that I mean. Sure you find me later and that's fair game. But you go out of your way chasing me and never let me even get to a box.

People with traps tend to not heal or go on gens. You know they'll go to the nearest box and you know they'll go down in one hit. Why wouldn't they go after you?

That's an honest answer. But it is unfun to go against and not my preferred strategy when playing killer.
But does confirm my thoughts that some Pig players do this as there primary strategy.

RBT are extremely RNG dependant so unless it's already active they buy very little time. If you get unhooked soon and your trap isn't active yet, the chance of pig focusing on you is very high since she doesn't want you to remove it before it even gets a slight chance to kill you.
Maybe if the traps were actual threat even while inactive pigs would care less about losing them so easily. When you have only 4 you gotta make them count since you're not getting any back. Right now you need to have bad RNG on distance between boxes, gotta do all 4 boxes and need to have the trap activate while on hook to have still very small chance of it actually killing you.

Getting someone at the Jigsaw Box is a good way to catch them while vulnerable. You don't need to hunt them down to do so if you use BBQ. If you are actively patrolling the boxes, you are either already in a dominant position or you are wasting precious time.
Deliberately tunneling someone right off the hook is usually pointless unless someone decided to unhook said person right in front of your face, especially if you played around Borrowed Time by crouching.

I don't think it's that intentional.
I typically leave a person with a trap on them, but if I just happen to run into them again I'm not gonna pass up a free down or hit at least.
As a killer you can't afford to pass up on free chances to apply pressure.

Most killers rely on finding survivor's by returning to the hook. It's not just pig.
Why the hell would any killer run across an oversized map at 110% speed when they know for a fact, at least 1 survivor will come for the save. It's a sure thing and when you're mediocre as a killer, have some tunneling based rift challenge, or just don't give a rat's ass, why the hell would they care about some imaginary rule that was made up by butt hurt people to counter the shortcomings in the game itself?

There are so many pigs that are like this which is why she is in my top 5 hated killers. As soon as I see a pig play this it’s not worth my time in game and I’m yeeting myself out of it.

It’s not just pig. Most killers tunnel off the hook. The pigs just forget they don’t need to.

I have noticed a large increase in tunneling off the hook with many killers lately. I think it's all in your perspective. I prefer to challenge myself as killer and not take the low hanging fruit.
Others think #########...easy kill..but you will only get so good doing that and be really challenged by high rank survivors.
Tunneling might get you 2 kills, but can you say "damn I'm a great killer."

I won’t make this my priority but if I see the trap survivor alone I will slug them and leave them going around the map possibly going back when they get up if I’m not in chase but only to look for the other survivor who got the save the hard tunnels on traps I don’t get myself why add pressure just to get rid of it quickly?

Mostly because it's an injured survivor moving to a very predictable location. Easiest pressure you could ask for. If Hatties healed up more often they'd be a lot less tasty prey.

Yep, you need to play better getting hatcheted off the hook, getting shot of the hook, having GF camp the hook shrouded, etc.

Any pig that does this should be banned from playing pig. It's sad to see this as a topic tbh it totally makes a joke out of her power and its already a joke. Because the Pig excels at camping hook. All you have to do is stand behind a nearby structure, crouch, look away from the hook to deny spine chill and just wait and listen for someone coming.
I try really hard to play in a non-frustrating way, but a tool is a tool and I will mix it into my post-hook playbook to keep the survivors guessing. If you don't camp hook the first 4-5 times, the 6th time will almost always get them.

I suppose a secondary reason could also be that if you tunnel someone into dcing you actually get more points than if they die from the trap, as stupid as that is. If the pig in particular is particularly point hungry I could see a few doing it. I've certainly uh benefited from it before when people dc trying to deny me hat points.
Pig also has a lot of addons specifically designed to tunnel hatted players. Mangled, exausted, even aura reading. Pigs the only character with tunneling litterally built into her addons. She is I suppose the ultimate queen of tunneling by design.

I deal with it just fine, thank you. I am allowed to feel annoyed if the killer comes back and immediately shoots me off hook, for instance.

Ah, no that wasn't my intention. Someone commented that in order to not go down after being tunneled off the hook, you have to play better. Hence why my statement "yeah, because I can elude every killer all the time," because even the best survivors get hooked.

The problem with tunnelling trapped survivors is that it's so easy. There are generally 4 places a survivor is likely to be, and 99.9% of the time, they'll be injured.
Ironically, you are better off ignoring them entirely since they are basically written off as they're only concerned with removing their trap. If you run across a trapped survivor, then slug them. It'll apply more pressure on the other survivors. Just don't go out of your way to find them.

I don't see too many that do. But maybe I'm just lucky. I've seen a couple that do. It's much more likely that a wraith is camping or a ghostface is proxy camping. Seen a lot of Huntresses who don't stray far from the hook either.

I personally really like to do yes-yes with the snout to downed and trapped survivors, and if you do that without a good ol' tunnel it feels less satisfying.

Feel how you want about going against Pig, but whether or not it's possible to beat, it's still annoying to go against. It's similar to a facecamping Leatherface in that regard. Does anybody think it's impossible to escape against Leatherface? No, but it's still stupid when a killer uses such a tactic because it's only really something that benefits lazy killers who settle for the low hanging fruits and just want easy sleezy kills.
It's honestly sad to see people try to turn the topic into "just play better."

I slug the trap and then camp it and it helps me win games. Survivors are stupid and always go for saves so free win for me. They not very good at chases just hold m1 on gens

You are not thinking of total map control/pressure. If I have one with a trap on his head running around trying to find a box and another being chased, I have 2 off the gens. If I'm tunneling down the one with the trap on his head, I have 3 on the gens. I lose. I prefer to have one trapped, one slugged, one in chase. That is all 4 likely off gens.
