The Entity and Other Deities

This latest Chapter has made me wonder about the ever-expanding influence The Entity has, and its daring intrusions - not only into other dimensions, but dimensions ruled by powerful, deity-like beings.

The Stranger Things Chapter was the start, as The Entity delved into the world of The Mind Flayer, and now it's infiltrated the the realm of The Sun Goddess of Silent Hill. Not sure about The Demogorgon, but in the case of The Executioner's lore, it came to an "agreement" with The Entity, which makes me wonder if The Entity would have had difficulty prying Pyramid Head away otherwise.

Both the Upside Down and The Otherworld have invaded the real world their dimensions have been linked to: The Mind Flayer invading the town where the gate was opened; The Otherworld has also struck out beyond Silent Hill, most notably in SH4 and SH:Homecoming, so both dimensions, like The Entity, has the ability to cross plains.

So I'm beginning to wonder: As The Entity is now coming into contact with other Godlike beings, how does it react, and what does this mean? Will there be power grabs or alliances or wars? If The Entity is like a spider, then it would probably be very slow, methodical and patient, such as a spider waits for its prey. How hungry would it become to consume other realms? What happens if it starts grabbing the attention of even greater beings, such as Cthulu, Satan, The Crimson King (Stephen King's multiverse demon), or The Scarlet King (SCP).

Will it have problems with the ones it already has? Midwich has heavy chains embedded into the courtyard, not present in Silent Hill. Is it creating this to secure it, as maybe this realm was far stronger than it expected to connect with? Maybe if Hellraiser becomes involved we mat find out more.

Was Pyramid Head the only Killer the the Entity had to bargain with?

I believe so. The closest I could get to finding something similar was Rin, and in her case an "oath" was made, not a bargain. Considering Rin was shortly to die, there was little choice for her. This is what makes Pyramid Head unique, because even those who like it or don't mind it with The Entity were never given a choice (The Clown, The Ghost Face, The Shape). Even the demon Freddy Krueger was taken.

It is super interesting. I think the one thing that separates PH from the others is the fact that he is a created being with no free will of his own. So perhaps the forces of Silent Hill are "loaning" PH until he is needed again.

That's an interesting idea that the bargain may not have been struck between The Entity and Pyramid Head, but perhaps The Entity and The Sun Goddess. However, maybe it was done through Pyramid Head, and The Entity may have thought he was talking to one, but instead it was The Sun Goddess speaking through Pyramid Head.

I did wonder about any bargains it had with The Mind Flayer, but I get the impression there were so many Demogorgons, it probably didn't even care about losing one.

The biggest thing to consider as well is that The Sun Goddess may not even actually exist.

See in the Silent Hill theorycrafting community the big debate is "does the town itself have the power to manifest ones darkest most evil secrets?" or was "everything happening because of the cult?"

I'm convinced the cult has no power. That the towns strange abilities manifested Dahlia's and Alessa's visions of what God was and mostly Alessa's perception of the cult was to blame for the events in SH1.

Which to me seems like Pyramid Head is just a manifestation of the town itself. Possibly making him one of the strongest killers lore wise.

That is true, and The Sun Goddess may not exist! The land was apparently a magical place when the Native Americans found it, but when the Europeans started colonising things changed.

The blood spilt, and the ways in which the land was wrenched from the Native Americans, tainted this "magic" and manifested a reflective darkness.

Whether this was because it was a holy ground controlled by The Sun Goddess; a pathway to another dimension; an unusual, natural phenomenon; or even aliens, this corruption turned the area into a dark, reflective water. It's very possible the town is not evil at all, and merely reacts to others passively.

Never played a Silent Hill game but I LOVE good lore so I've read/watched a lot on the series. I'm also of the opinion that the place itself has a power to project the metaphysical based on the thoughts and feelings upon it, like a really fuxed up mirror. Pyramid Head was just a construct, an idea, of James mind and once its purpose was concluded it was prepared to dissolve back into the aether of the town but, The Entity, sensing the rage, violence and persistence of it, came at the last moment and gave it something so rarely offered to beings of such existence: A new lease on life. The Entity offered to THINK of Pyramid Head, extend its existence AND reimagine it. No longer just tormentor but executioner. Stronger, faster unencumbered by the stipulation of having to stay its hand if some lesson was learned, Pyramid Head can now slaughter both repentant and bold while its new "Mother" feasts. See, what I think a lot of people miss is that everything in Silent Hill is just a projection and with no mind to project with, it all fades. Such would have been PH but The Entity, in a twisted nurturing sense, rebirthed him. The map and survivor probably plucked out of fragments of the memories within the place but she chose him. Silent Hill/Dead by Daylight lore intact AND IRL graphic update explained. *mic drop*

First of all, please don't drop the mic. Those things are expensive, and I'm not paid to clean up :p

Again, that works well! Silent Hill is the reflection of others, hence why the lore states how the land became corrupted, and in turn adapts to each individual. That's why I liked Shattered Memories, with its frozen Hell. Granted, it turned out it wasn't "real", but I liked that idea. Also, in Origins, each main area had its own reality: The hospital was gore; sanitarium was green and symbolic of madness; The theatre had woodland and roots throughout; and the Motel was more like the emptiness of the protagonist.

Whichever way you toss it, it's neat to be able to think of the reasons behind The Entity and its relationship with other realms. Now, can you get someone to pick up that mess please!

There is no mess. The microphone was just another projection... oooooooOoOoOOO

OoooooooOOOOOOOoooooooo = the fragments still on the floor.

Mind you, the survivors could use this excuse for anything there:

David "Who the Hell thought taking a dump in my jacket was a good idea?"

Dwight "It's only a projection David! That poo doesn't exist!"

David "Oh, OK, lemme put it on... I CAN FEEL THE RUNNY BITS!! DAMN YOU DWIGHT!!"

Haha I don't think the emulated Silent Hill area The Entity created holds the same power as the original. I do, however, think Dwight is gonna need a new pair of glasses and a med pack. Haha

Pyramid Head comes around the corner, see David covered in muck and looking like he's gonna kill someone, and says: "Here, you have the Great Knife this time around. I think you're ready for the darkside"

Survivors would be peeved when DS suddenly disappears as a survivor perk, and reappears as an exposed status Killer perk. Dwight would not be long for this realm afterwards!

Cthulu may have a bone to pick with that. Or the Scarlett King for that matter! I'm not gonna mess with that walking titan of death!
