    Hard disagree.

I want variety, not the same stuff everytime.

No one is questioning the winner's skill or quality of submission. It won because the Judges liked it.

The criticism is directed at the judges, and the fact that this thread exists means that people would have wanted it.

There could be a part of claudettes personality that was never revealed, and why do you feel the need to ######### on someone’s drawing like Jesus, they did a great job, congratulate them Don’t ######### all over their work like ######### hell

Complaining about different tastes in regards of cosmetics is pathetic.

I think it should just be community judged. Give us the 4 the devs picked then let the community vote

Actually her family shut her out. All shes wanted was her parents approval but they never gave it.

That's not what her description says:

She felt smothered by her parents who refused to see the potential of a future in games, so she left home and spent her time in internet cafes and LAN parties where the old rules didn't apply. She spent hours playing, streaming, competing to rise to the top. Her parents became what she called "holiday parents" as she never saw them outside the holidays, and she became the black sheep of a one-child-family.

Feng Min pushed her limits to prove she was the best. Sleep was less important to her than training. At the top of her game, she filled stadiums with fans who adored her. But it couldn't last forever; The pressure to be the best grew stronger and stronger. She pushed herself too far, slept too little, and her performance began to slip. She started to lose. At night, she would stay up, tormented by the thought of disappointing her parents… and her fans.

while her original reason for leaving was because she felt smothered so she could actually pursue her dreams it is clear that see you too have asked success in the gaming and esports industry to try to get her parents approval.

Despite being the one to distance herself from them the fact that she put disappointing her parents above disappointing her fans shows that she did extremely care about their opinion. Disappointing both parties did extremely hurt her but it was her parents that stung the most.

I agree that the community should vote. I was disappointed that the Claudette cosmetic won. It does not fit her character and it's not that inspired, I saw some really good ideas for costumes and have no idea why they chose that, besides them thinking "well, this one will be easy to make, so let's choose it". Let the people vote and choose what they want to be in the game.

She might have gone before she was in esports? You can't just say something like that. It has never been said by the lore that she wouldn't. Not like with Claudette, where the lore disagrees with that principle.

You did not read my post clearly then, because I commend the artists on their talent and effort. I say that it is the responsibility of the Devs to choose the cosmetics that the characters would actually want to wear.

I never disparaged their work once. At all. I may not agree that it should have won, but it did, and they did a good job with what they turned in. Shows you see malicious intent where there is none.

This isn't about my subjective desires. This is about showing that there is little care in the actual consideration of the characters inherent personality.

Then again all I've ever seen from you are bait comments, so I shouldn't take you seriously.

I would ask for more than just 4... maybe the top 10 for each side, then give the community vote. That, however, does not solve the issue that I am trying to solve: cosmetics that do not show the character as themselves.

This was exactly my issue with the set. It just doesn't say Claudette... Nea or Yui, maybe, but not Claudette.

That's why I say "It's a stretch." OP is complaining that the Claudette costume doesn't fit Claudette in any way based on her character, but nothing about Feng's character suggests such a thing about festivals, but it's being overlooked because "eh, she's Chinese, close enough." It's a random collection of clothes that simply looks cool on her. And you know what, that's fine. I have no problem with outfits that might not necessarily fit the character's personality but still looks good on that character. There's nothing wrong with dressing Jake Park using dyed blue hair + shades, or Ace Visconti as a war pilot, or Feng Min in a "demon slayer" outfit, or Claudette in low-hanging pants + low-cut top and hoodie. Those just look cool, and that's the only excuse you really need.

Her potentially disappointing her parents is a thing, but it's not the same as "she's doing this to seek approval from her parents". And you can't tell me that disappointing her parents stings the most when she immediately mentions disappointing her fans right after. Her habits aren't described as "I'm doing this to make my parents proud!" They're described as "I'm doing this because this is my calling and if you guys can't see that, then you aren't worth my time and I'm better off abandoning you!"

That's purely speculation with only the thinnest of grasps. I can absolutely say "It has never been shown to be the case for Feng." I have to go with how the in-game lore portrays her. The in-game lore portrays her as someone who prioritizes her esports career above all else to a massive fault, giving up everything around her to spend hours upon hours in internet cafes and focused entirely on gaming to the point where she was destroying herself. That doesn't really mesh with the idea of embracing cultural festivities and whatnot.

Okay just adding my own opinion in there as i have been reading others etc, i can understand why people wish to keep clothing to the lore of the characters, and yes to me the idea of Claudette in a thong i don't like. But if the designers constantly kept adding the correct attire to each lore character, i think it would be a little boring. I mean think of yourself in a sense or another person that you may know, because you like heavy metal, just say as an example and very much a huge fan horror, like thegoth style stuff, yet you dress like barbie? all pink and sweet, do make up and nails......point there is just because you like something does not mean you have to dress to stereotype. Why do they have to fit their lore character without expressing other clothing? I think it's good to see the characters not wearing their typical normal stuff, because it makes fun to have different and other clothes I would love to have Claduette like Beyonce in Golden member but since she is "shy and likes science" etc i guess this is wishfull thinking.

But we see what their default is... and the outfit details a different personality to what they have been described to be.

To put it in context, it is similar to watching Luke grow and develop in star wars... but then seeing Last Jedi. A betrayal of character. That is my take on it, anyway.

There is also many ways to show a personality, so it wouldn't be a stereotype. They already have a wide variety of stuff for Claudette. There are a lot of people who have wanted a lab coat/scientist claudette, which is something they could have tried.

yes i can understand that, but it just feels to me it would be a little boring, perhaps they feel the same? even though they have set a story, a back ground for characters it is just nice to see them wearing stuff that is not fitted to their originality

    Yes.

    Yes it does.

    Yes it most certainly does.

Eye candy for the killer, extra "spice" to the survivors tbagg.

I would like to give my 5 cents to this topic.

First of all, I think they should choose more than just two cosmetics. We have so many original characters that it's becoming really frustrating to see specific ones getting cosmetics.

I don't know to which extend it is possible to include one design for each survivor and killer.

Second of all, BHVR could do two things to keep such contests in order and still original.

Either they give a theme, that limits the designs a tad bit or they decide internally four designs for survivors and four for killer.

These eight designs will be in polls. To decide what design will win they could separate the votings TO 50% community and 50% BHVR.

So artists with big followings won't be able to make a significant step to win.

Third of all, to give everyone a fair chance, they could provide bases of the characters (Bases are literally the characters in a dress-up game style) so that anyone can provide a detailed design.

Last but not least: To me personally, Feng Mins skin seems to be more like a Cosplay kind of situation. She's a gamer and maybe her main dresses like this.

    Hope everythings readable
