I really do like the fact Cheryl is now on dead by daylight but I do have one problem.
It's the face, just like Laurie and Quentin, you're like. "It's her, but is it really?"
Like when you try to draw Mario's head, yeah it's him but the brain will feel repulsed that there's something off.

I think they designed her pretty well. I only see a slight difference in the shape of her lips and maybe her chin but other than that she looks pretty similar in my opinion.

I agree she does look a little different. I think it's cause the eyes are too big. At least it isn't as bad as Laurie or Quentin tho.

The shape of her lips, chin, jawline, eyes and her skin color seems a little off judging by the pictures you provided.

I think it's the lack of freckles. Her face in DBD is as smooth as ice cream.

Yeah, I think that's it. Cheryl's face is a lot more rough looking, she's looking like one of those Olay models.

It’s because they don’t prioritize the complete rendering of the characters so then we have ######### character models that look right and their cosmetics look ######### terrible

Thank you for providing a side by side comparison. I think it shows the differences pretty well.
1) Size of her eyes
2) Nose is too pointy and narrow
3) The so called "cupid bow" (the section between nose and upper lip) looks totally different
4) the shape of her lips is off
5) her jawline/chin/cheeks are somewhat off
That's all I've noticed so far. That being said I still think they designed her pretty well.

I really don't see that much to complain about. I mean it's not that I don't see any differences, but any differences are minor. She still looks great, and I personally think they did an amazing job on her considering some of the other characters they've come out with. It's not like she's got Quentin Syndrome or something.

This'll make it easier to explain why Cheryl's likeness (as well as Quentin's and Laurie's) don't exactly hit the mark:
Notice how when I overlay the OG Cheryl model over the DBD one - there's a visible outline around the face of the DBD model? This shows that the head structure of the recreated Cheryl model isn't as accurate as it could be... which in turn makes the DBD model look quite a bit off. Now, this in turn with the slightly inaccurate plotting of facial features (lip size, eye size and hair volume) completely changes the likeness of the character.
I give major props to the 3D artists that worked on Nancy and Schtev - these licensed char models were done wonderfully well and y'all managed to capture not only the likeness of the character's - but also in the way that they hold themselves.
But yeah, just sharing some knowledge, maybe this'll help someone
(I'm an illustrator who specializes in character pin-ups. Nailing character likeness is something I pride myself on)

Dbd Cheryl's hair doesn't have black roots, and she lacks freckles.

Sorry to bother you, but could you provide sauce or title for that second picture's video? Nevermind i got it. Typed cheryl mason dbd adept and got video. It has the picture as that picture on the second picture, also i think mrs. Mason has extremely big eyes and bad part between nose and mouth. She also has worse hair, but i kind of like, i like the outfit change.

The Dbd Version Has Black Roots,could be wrong too,and about the freckles,depends too what Quality And Resolution You Play the game,she has some kind of freckles from what i've seen
