Why DBD is a 18+ (Mature) game?

USELESS
USELESS Member Posts: 1,151

I don't know about how they classify a game but we'll, at least in my country this game is 18+, but all other games that is 18+ have explicit content, DBD is a way far from this so why it is not classified as a 14+ or 16+ game. Also I want to apologise for my bad English, that's because I am pretty tired right now so I can't think properly

Murder gore sexual themes porn tapes (looking at you Clown) Eldritch goddesses and ######### up situations that would warrant hysteria from the general public.

That ^, but mostly violence I guess. They don't want to be responsible if some underage kid goes on a killing spree at his local supermarket after playing their game

because of the simulated violence, the mature themes, the aspect that the game is getting you to kill someone else (or avoid being killing) and the blood (though that is minor) this is why most places rate this game Mature

If it wasn't for moris, I could see it being something else. But due to them I can't see what else it would be. Although the original moris were very mild, the moris since then make it fairly reasonable.

There's also stuff like Clown's actual pubes being in the game (I wish they weren't, since it grosses me out to think about).

the media has used DBD videos of moris for push to censor video games, the game should have an 18+ rating if it doesnt, I never look Im long past 18 but have seen many people play this who claim are in teens LOL

It's funny if they've actually done that cause one day I got bored and started looking at parental reviews for dbd and most of them say "the gore is very mild, there's a way of blocking communication with strangers, and while you may play with ramdom people there's no way to speak to them in game". Most parents are actually pretty chill about it.

i don't think moris are "brutal"

    I find them very boring

especiallys when the canibal/hillbilly don't plit in half the the moried survivor

or when freddy don't make a hole in stomach to see him behind me before the mori ends

on general i hate the moris don't make "injures" on the corpse and the corpse don't bleed, and don't make a pool of blood... i need more gore

Because Nikki says "Buckle up fuckos".

Assuming this gets hit with the swear filter, it's Hope's flavor text.

That's honestly the only thing I can think of that has been in DbD since the beginning that would be worthy of giving it an 18+. Unless of course, cartoonishly chainsawing someone in half and not doing any visible damage counts as violence too gruesome for anyone under 18.

It's a game which involves hanging living people on hooks.

Then there is the fact that many of the franchises attached, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, A Nightmare On Elm Street and Saw are all 18 (Mature) rated films which involve grisly murder and highly adult themes.

Obviously this is different from a younger person purchasing a, for example, Halloween Michael Myers action figure or t-shirt. The character representations featured in DBD, show these imaginary individuals in motion, commiting horrific acts.

If a game gives the players the opportunity to assume the role of a fictional serial killer and use various weapons to maim and torture their victims, with graphic, gory results...it's going right on the top shelf.

Well, I don’t think it’s a very brutal game but there are some gruesome mori’s including the clowns mori. The clowns mori shows him eating a finger and other moris show deaths. But I don’t think the game is such a 18+ game.

There's also the archives videos, which include toenails being ripped up and a guy being stabbed in the throat.

I would think they would focus more on something like MK that actually has gruesome violence, unlike dbd that could be aired on cable television without even being censored..

are you kidding em this game is brutal AF there is a lot of dark and gorey themes that would be way too much for those under 18,

No, she's a zombie corpse who's missing three limbs. I'm more concerned about people who think she's sexual.

XD, once saw a review of her DLC that said (Ima find it):

'Sexy killer wearing just some wraps....

Although she's falling apart a bit, but still is a MUST BUY.

Small price to pay for boobies in DbD'.

    Had me concerned.

While it’s kinda mild for a M rated horror game it’s still pretty violent and has gore so it can’t be a T rated game.

I experienced that for the first time last night - it was more brutal than Ithought it would be!

What's also concerning is that the spirit has breast physics even though she's wearing a sarashi. The whole point of a sarashi is to bind your chest so that your breasts don't get in the way. It makes no sense.

Idk when, just click the funny tab of the shattered bloodline DLC reviews and scroll down and you'll find it lol.

That has to do with the ratings board, which also has to do with the morals and standards of that particular country. In North America M for Mature is 17+ The only category above that is AO, for Adults Only, which is extremely rare, and almost guarantees your game won't be able to be sold in physically in stores,or on any of the major consoles digital stores. Most companies would rather make cuts the the game or just not release it in that region. I can only think of one AO game in the past like two decades that was released on any major platform. The others were all for old CD based consoles back in the day,and were basically pornography. I would assume in this case it's for violence,or maybe even just the overall theme. The US seems quite a bit more lenient towards violence in games when it comes to ratings. Especially compared to somewhere like Japan. They are almost like the opposite.

It's Mature because you're hanging living people on hooks, some of the Moris are pretty violent, the characters' backstories contain some messed up things, and you have characters from Halloween, NOES, Saw, Scream, TCM, and Silent Hill, all of which are M-rated games or R-rated movies.

That doesn't mean you have to listen to them though. If you think your child is mature enough to play a game like DbD, then go ahead and let them play it.
