What's the consensus on BBQ + Pop?

With patch 4.0.0 coming up, let's take a look back at patch 3.0.0!

Pop was buffed from 30 seconds to 60 seconds, propelling it's use to the top of the meta overnight. I'd guess there's a 75% chance of seeing Pop + BBQ regardless of what Killer it is, but especially on Billy and Freddy (makes them super oppressive imo).

So what do you guys think? Is this combo fun to play against? Are there any changes you would make?

I'll start. Personally, I think this combo is so oppressive on high mobility Killers that you'd be stupid not to use it. That being said, I'd like to see Pop's duration changed to 45 seconds to strike a middle ground between pre-buff and post-buff.

I personally don't mind going against it, it would be dumb for a Killer who has high mobility or the ability to teleport to not use BBQ & Pop. I don't think Pop needs to be changed though, I think it's fine as is. As long as the meta is unshaken, Pop will always be used instead of other perks because of how consistent it is.

Pop wasn't very useful before they increased from 30 to 60. By the time you hooked someone and ran to the gen it was already over. Only speedy killers could make good use of it half the time.

BBQ was introduced because survivors were complaining about camping killers and already has half a dozen counters. If the killer camps he's considered bad, if he uses BBQ to find you he's considered bad. What do you want? The killer to be a bot and pose zero threat to you? Both perks are fine.

I find DS + BT to be oppressive in EGC with low mobility killers. Should I ask for a nerf because of that?

I imagine PoP will be nerfed down the road. Devs did say they want less synergy between killer slow down perks.

Still, wanting to nerf certain perks because they can be better utilized on high end killers doesn't seem like much of a reason. Think about how long it takes for killers like Bubba or Clown to cross maps.

Complaining about BBQ? It legit shows 4 seconds of people far away from you. It’s not near op. People don’t even use it for the aura part

I actually don't understand why people think BBQ is some kind of super strong perk.

Well survivors are about to get a perk, which might be helpful in counting ruin or pop. Which will protect a gen for 30 seconds. I don't think nerfing pop would be a good idea, when survivors are about to get a perk like that, since we have no idea how massively that might effect things. Which bbq tracking part of the perk, has a number of counters already. Hiding behind a gen, hiding in a locker like a Dwight. Going one way for a few seconds and than double back to go the other way. Bbq is fine as is.

That and any nerf you would make to these perks, would effect your standard 115% movement speed killer the most. That and if you were to remove tracking from bbq, you would simply have more people use something thrilling tremors to replace it.

I never said anyone was bad for using these perks. Why the hostility?
