What's the REAL point in using Calm Spirit?
Reduces chances of alerting Crows to #%
Your calm spirit can overcome the urge to scream.
It's a really bad perk since crows don't much affect the game at all.
Preventing urges to scream only works when versing Doctor, Clown and against certain perks.
And on top of this, you don't get to know who you'll face so that makes it useless eve more.
Rework it to make it more useful or at least let players know who they'll be going up against.

what's the point of using every other perk which isn't meta? none, that's why everybody runs meta and not mediocre perks like calm spirit, alert, haunted grounds, and so on. that's why devs should heavily change perks to shift the meta.

As someone who plays killer a good bit, crows help alot more than most people think.
Despite this, I do think the perk needs a buff of some sort.

Crows are actually a good tool to find people. As Killer, if you are looking out for Crows, you can see Survivors where you dont have any Line of Sight to them. It also gives information if a Crow just landed near you - this means, a Survivor was at this spot not long ago.
Sadly Crows are something which is in the game since the Beginning, but I feel that this is a mechanic the Devs did not do that much with. It is also quite unique, yet I think that nowadays players dont really care for Crows anymore.
Regarding Calm Spirit, for me, this is a Perk I would never run. Like I said, most players (aka Killers) dont care about Crows. And it only really helps against Doctor, but eh. It also gets you killed faster on the Hook.

Maybe just for some obscure non-meta builds that make you a bit harder to find. But I have heard that it makes you die on hook faster like Aven said.

I think it's a mechanic that requires the player to learn Crows spots... and there are a lot of them. That's probably the reason why people don't bother using them and the fact that spotting survivors is not that hard. Also you have to be near the crow spot to check, it's not like whispers that works through walls.

It cancels out Spies From The Shadows (not a popular perk), but it can be handy in that you don't scream because of Doctor, Clown's tonic, Infectious Fright and Iron Maiden etc.
Taking away the crow element, it's a circumstantial perk like Slippery Meat, only more beneficial.

It's a useless perk and it takes up a spot for a better one.
My argument would be to either completely rework it or just flat out delete and add another one.

It's just another effect to diversify the list, not everything has to be meta defining, although I do agree it's a bad perk.
Personally as a killer it's the perk I find the most unnerving. I get creeped out when they don't scream after a hit/hook.

Feel like people are REALLY getting caught up on that crow part, lol. The perks main use is to counter various killer effects that would make you scream. The moment your facing a Billy or Oni who's slugging your team with infectious fright... you'll be glad you have it. Pyramid head is also bringing another scream related perk to the game, so thisll be a counter to that as well.

I use Calm Spirit on every survivor build along with Spine Chill (my two favourites^^).
To me to the perk works very well because it denies the killer important information - where I am! It counters Doctor Shocks, Clown Tonic, Iron Maiden, Infectious Fright (very important against Hillbilly, the Oni, Nurse and Michael Myers), Crow alarms, Oni pink add-on, Nurse add-on, usw.
It is very underrated! Many times I have changed the match for the killer because they didnt realise where I was or what I was doing :P
I cant imagine to play without it.. Also, I like it that the survivors dont scream because the screaming in this game does my head in

For the crow part of the perk is map dependent:
In the swamp maps the crows alert the killer to survivors in the main buildings so calm spirit is actually useful there.
In the underground lab its pretty much the only thing that can keep you hidden from "Spies from the Shadows" there as crows are so common and are nearly unavoidable that killers more or less have permanent reveal with "Spies from the Shadows". Look up videos of it its kinda silly how good spies is there.

It’s a great perk for people with a stealthy play style as it’ll help you to keep that stealthy play style even if it’s a Doctor or somebody using Infectious Fright. And since a lot of streamers are using Infectious Fright it’s becoming quite the meta perk for a killer to run.
