What is holding the game hostage?
I had a huntress Kill 2 survivors and slug the 3rd guy (no hook). I wasn't sure what to do but look for hatch. The Huntress camped an entire survivor to death, while the 2nd killed himself on hook. After finding me and downing me he went to hook the other guy. Then proceeds to just look at me while I get crows. I DC'd because there was no point in waiting to bleed out honestly, I just wanted out of the game, I knew I was dead. Endgame chat the Huntress tells me I took the game hostage, which is why he was letting me just bleed out. I didn't think I did that at all. What are your guys thought on what could be considered taking the game hostage?

That's not a hostage situation. If 2 survivors die on hook and the 3rd survivor bleeds out on the ground the hatch will spawn no matter what allowing the killer to start the endgame collapse by closing it.

I guess the only reason to say anything like that is if you two hid all game without touching gens for 1o minutes or something like that but he could easily end the game once he found the third guy so I guess he was just salty and dumb. Probably wanted his 4k too much.

For survivors to hold the game hostage, you basically need 2+ survivors to refuse to touch gens. If they stealth around the map or exploit an area of the map where they're untouchable, then the killer can't kill them and gens aren't being done, so there's no way for the match to end. At about 10 minutes is when survivors refusing to participate in the game becomes a reportable offense.

I healed my teammate once, the killer downed her immediately, I began to look for hatch, which is the time he supposed I was taking the game hostage. I knew he wanted the 4k. He didnt look for hatch after I was downed, he just stared at me

Wish I had recorded honestly lol

Sounds like you were just playing the game normally and the killer was salty you didn't immediately give yourself up.
Did you read the entire thread? OP asked if what he as a survivor did counted as holding the game hostage, and everyone has said that, as far as he's described, "no." We've been telling him what actually counts as survivors holding a match hostage. No one has justified the killer's behavior. OP did not ask if the killer held him hostage.

No, you will eventually die

Griefing and holding the game is hostage are two different things. Love how you assume he's a killer main for having a different opinion than yours.

Holding the game hostage is actively playing in such a way that the trial will never end. This is more easily done by survivors who can, for example, refuse to work on generators, thus preventing the game from ending. You were not holding the game hostage and neither was the killer - you would've bled out eventually, guaranteeing the game would end.
We're talking about hostage situations here.

Holding the game hostage implies that the game will continue indefinitely at the whims of one or more players, and the only way out is to disconnect. Example: A killer or a fellow survivor has blocked you into a corner, you cannot move around them, and they refuse to let you out or otherwise continue playing normally.
I don't know how long you were looking for the hatch during the situation that you described, but it doesn't matter, because there is no possible way this could fall under the definition of "holding the game hostage." Even if you were scouring the map and avoiding the killer for like 15 minutes, Huntress could have triggered the EGC by finding the hatch herself. You were not preventing her from playing or progressing the game normally.

OK? Nobody said anything to the contrary, we were too busy answering the question that was actually asked: what is holding the game hostage and did it happen in this scenario?

When you're so hateful toward one group of players that it blinds you to the topic of the thread, the question asked by the OP, or even who the OP was in the situation.

The killer is definitely being a jerk, and is entirely wrong about he survivor "holding the game hostage," whatever it is they thought they meant by that. But the bleed-out mechanic exists specifically to curb any intentional griefing due to this type of behavior. I understand why this is not considered to be a reportable form of griefing (because it would be a waste of human hours for CS to sift through countless slugging reports), but it was definitely unnecessary and mean-spirited for the killer to do that.

I can't even tell who it is you mean when you say "I don't care what he said." The person you replied to? The OP?
"You're 100% wrong, that's griefing." The person never said it wasn't griefing. They simply said nothing the OP described counted as a hostage situation. They weren't wrong about anything: the survivor was not holding the killer hostage. That is all they said. They never said anything about what the killer was doing, and "griefing" was never being discussed.
"Love how you killer mains try to justify this behavior." No one justified anything. No one said the killer wasn't being an ass.
"I saw the screenshot. That's griefing." Okay? No one said otherwise, because that hasn't been the topic of discussion. You're the only one making that an issue.

I said the survivor was not holding the game hostage. Read the thread and my comment again.
Secondly I'm not ANY main. I play both sides since 2017 and I'm not siding with any side as I enjoy playing both sides.

That's not the topic of conversation.

Thanks guys, I know I wasn't taking it hostage. I feel bad for my teammate too, just lying there so long. It was a solo q game. I'll just record my gameplay, I know videos are fun
I did have a Freddy game on Red Forest where the Freddy Slugged me then went to go look for my friend. It was us 2 left. My friend then healed me and got slugged himself. The game went on for about 30 min, maybe more, with a heal, a slug, then a chase in which Freddy could never catch the person. I thought about DCing when it started but who wouldve thought it'd be that long. We gave ourselves up and the killer wouldnt even end it that way. I'm not sure how that game finished exactly, but Freddy got his 4k by the end of it. "What a waste of time" I thought. Since then I decided that a Killer trying to get his 4k is not really a game you want to be in. There are 2 types of 4k players: Straight up killer that ends the game, and the guy doing WHATEVER it takes for the 4k. The later kind are usually the ones we have trouble with i'm sure i.e camping, insidious bubba, basement bubba, sluggsville ppl. Anyways, don't want to get in a rant.

Make a new discussion about griefing if it bothers you so much or go away.

Yeah, there have been many times where the killer slugged for the 4k and I was like, "Screw this, this is gonna be boring," so I just gave myself up to get the match over with. Obviously they care more about killing me than I care about escaping, so if they consider my surrender for their boring gameplay style a win then so be it.
As killer, it's rare I slug for the 4k; there's usually a reason for it, like a challenge to complete. Otherwise, when there are two survivors left, I usually choose which one I want to die and which one I'm cool with giving a chance at the hatch. Slugging for the 4k is just a pain as killer, and I often find it stressful as I try to both keep track of the slug and locate the remaining survivor; I don't consider it fun at all. I can't imagine playing that way every match.

At this point you're effectively just sitting in chat repeatedly spamming "GG EZ."
It's a discussion about a video game, not some single-issue ballot debate. Have some perspective and engage with the topic. I don't think anyone here disagrees with the notion that the OP's killer was being a jerk.

No one held the game hostage in the OP’s example because the game was bound to end.
