Extremely weird match (not a mod appreciation thread)

I was up against a 3-man SWF that played like total noobs. We're talking a Dwight who ran out into the open instead of in the direction of literally anything when I hit him, nobody was doing any gens, ######### like that. I thought to myself that this must be a complete noob team, so I decided to let them go (accidentally sacrificed one, though).
Much to my surprise, half were around rank 10 - my rank. Some were as high as 6, which completely threw me off. I never thought survivors could be that boosted.

I've had those kind of matches before where I see the absolute carnage and domination I did and feel bad figuring the MM screwed over some poor Green/Yellow bastards only to find out that they were reds.
Although the fact that I'm a 1 Red Rank Survivor should tell you it doesn't take a whole lot of skill to Red Rank :D

I know it doesn't, I'm rank 5 myself. However, they were just... terrible. The last time someone played that poorly I was up against rank 20s.

my rank 1 (I play since 2017) it hasn't the same value of someone with 100 hrs. It's not being boosted, it's just matchmaking being #########, allowing people to rank up easily with just a saving build and not considering devotion while matching.

I just had a trial where the survivors actually prevented NOED outright by cleansing all the totems on the map. This had never happened to me before as a killer and only once as a survivor. I congratulated them, naturally.

Lag spike, maybe? I find that I get big lag spikes right at the start of the trial, even if the rest is stable.

It's at least a relief that this happens less on killer side due to some things like camping and tunneling not being strong in high ranks which filters them out pretty well. or am I wrong? are there more bad killers in red ranks than I think?

In my experience, red rank killers deserve to be there. Survivors, on the other hand, not so much.

That's neat, I was once rank 1 and I remember it being hard - even nurse was not easy to play and the first P3 killer is nurse. Which gets me to question, is it still that hard at rank 1 killer?

There are a lot of Potato Killers in Red Ranks. The easier Rank Reset affects Killers as much as Survivors. Not every Killer who is in Red Ranks (or Rank 1) deserves to be there.

In theory yes. But this does not mean that it is hard in general. Both Killer and Survivor are pretty easy to play. I mean, I was Rank 1 as Killer before I was Rank 1 as Survivor this Rank Reset. In general, I get more Pips/Game as Killer than as Survivor (because I get more Double Pips as Killer). And I would not consider myself a good Killer, I guess my Survivor would run my Killer around for quite a bit.

I was checking lately how effective face-camping with bubba is... after a few games (all against were red ranks) i was actually net positive on pips... People were just running for the safes against bubba and gen speed was imcompreable lower all across in all games, swf or not.
It showed me that you don't need skill to climb up... all you need to do is to just play a lot.
