Should devs take mlga down?
For anyone that doesn't know mlga (Make lobbies great again) is a programe that allows you to see what the killer is playing, their profile, lets you write notes under a killer that you can read if you get them again, and allows you to block killers so you can dodge them
Why is this allowed?
This is literally cheating
Here is an example:
-Programe detects killer is doctor
Me as a survivor bring calm spirit
Or if it was a wraith or hag I would bring a flashlight last second
There are soo many options survivors can do to get a advantage over killers regarding perks and items, but this programe is still available for survivors to use without issues, why is that?
I believe devs should focus on disabling this programe and possibly softban anyone that uses it

Yes. That is straight up cheating. Being able to see a killers perks or addons if I am reading what you wrote right takes away the uncertainity and unpredictability of the match up which is a big part of DBD. It's literally meant to be a part of the game and it's one of the reason swf with comms is considered so busted since it removes a lot of hidden info.
100% it should be eliminated and anyone caught using it should be banned for a moderate amount of time after the devs announce in game that it will no longer tolerated.
Although. while off topic seeing what killer you get in lobby I don't think itself would be too game breaking and might even improve the game. Especially since some killers kind of screw you without a specific perk counter-doctor basically destroys stealth builds without calm spirit- but with all the other stuff. Atrocious.
EDIT: if you meant only that they can see what killer itself you are playing. Then that factors not so bad. The being able to dodge or block killers though is bad.

Isnt MLGA detected by EAC?

Allowing survivors to know what killer they are versing is a terrible. If I know I am going to verse a spirit or deathslinger, I would just dodge the lobby. This would also make some killer unbreakable. Survivors would epic small game when they see a trapper, they would equip calm spirit when they see a doctor and so on... You get the point.
1 -
Lmao killers are going to have to 6 second switch in order to not give survivors a warning.
In all seriousness though this is cheating and should be 100% bannable.
11 -
So killers get that Information for free and can lobby dodge or change their loadout as they want. But when survivors do the same thing its cheating? Double standards again.
1 -
If the devs wanted survivors to have this information, they would have it. This is literally using third-party software to gain an advantage in a game that you're not supposed to have. The only double standard here is yours.
22 -
would love to reach what you conssider exploitable by killers, survivors can disable entire killer powers if they know what they are facing, killers can just see survivor items and thats it
Read it on reddit that there is a new version, and I've seen moment in my lobbies where survivors join for 1 milisecond and leave right away

Bruh absolutely not. This is using an outside program to tell you something that the game doesn't want you to know. By the same logic using an outside program to know every single survivor perk isn't cheating.
It's not about "equality", this isn't "double standard", this is cheating.
Screw the "survivor" equality lmao.

BIG GUY! Difference is devs decided survivors should go in blind, but not the killer. Not the player's decision, so hate the game, champion.
1 -
Unless something has changed greatly since I last saw, mlga does NOT tell you what killer the player is using. It just tells you the killer's steam name.
There ARE other programs that will read the log files and tell you what killer the player has selected. As it does not actually interact with any game files, it'd be impossible to actually blacklist it. Further, the process is so simple that anyone can slap together their own version with minimal effort and, in fact, could simply look at the log file without any other aids. That's up to BHVR to fix, they failed to provide any obfuscation that would've prevented it.
On the final point, it's far better to allow players who already know they dislike how a particular player plays or knows that they're completely outclassed by a player to just leave the lobby and find another game, rather than letting them enter the game only to DC or kill themselves on a hook in the first 30 seconds.
There IS good reason to hide WHAT the killer is, there's not much of one to hide WHO they are.
Just in case it comes up, the only time I play survivor is when I have a daily to complete. None of my Survivors are above level 10. I am an unashamed killer main, and I've got no problem letting people choose who they want to play with or against. If they don't want to deal with someone they know is going to slug everyone and wait around for bleed out, go ahead. If they decide they want to play the game only facing opponents who pose no challenge to em, fine. I'd rather kill players who actually want to complete and won't nope out in the first minute, anyway.

It raises the point.
Killers should not be able to see survivor items or check their profiles.
If I'm allowed switch at the last second I'm already able to stop them setting up to counter my item.
Checking Steam profiles let's killers know if its SWF and how many hours someone has played. Killers don't need that information.

Franklin's Demise is a perk that only does anything if survivors are carrying items. Overwhelming Presence is another. Killers should absolutely be able to see survivors' items.
3 -
This is an ongoing discuission. Surely the Killer should never see the names or Profiles of the Survivors. Gameplay-wise there is ZERO reason to see those.
But Items - if Survivors bring 3 Flashlights, the Killer should have the ability to equip Lightborn (for example). Sure, most Killers just dodge the Lobby, which is kinda sad. But preparation in general makes sense.
@Topic:
Someone wrote in another Thread that the Devs are aware of it and looking for a solution.

I raise another point.
Why do killers dodge people?
Is it because SWF makes the game unbalanced and unfun? yes.
Is it because certain players are incredibly toxic to verse? so people check their profile to make sure they're not the same person? absolutely.
If anything this shows some of the main problems in the game, SWF and toxicity.

Killers should definitely be able to see what items a survivor has. In fact, keys should be far more visible than they already are. I miss them 9 times out of 10.
Survivors definitely should not be able to know what killer they're facing. I think it'd be fine if the screenname of the killer was shown. Maybe let killers opt out. But anything else they shouldn't get.

There is something seriously wrong if the game encourages people to hide their profile.
1 -
But survivors don't get to know if they are facing a toxic killer.
0 -
There would be something wrong if the game encouraged that, yes. However, it doesn't in the slightest. I can't think of a single decent multiplayer game on Steam that doesn't let me open up someone's profile. Those who don't want their profiles to be seen simply change the adequate privacy settings.
3 -
Show usernames in the endgame screen.
Killers check profiles and dodge survivors if they've played a lot. Legacy cosmetics cause lobby dodging as well.
0 -
Ive actually been doing that lately. Had a game that ended immediately from someone DCing while loading in. The survivors told me in the endgame screen afterwards that one of the survivors that dipped at the lobby screen TOLD them what killer I was using before the game started (was practicing spirit). I'd prefer not to have 4 ppl equip iron will due to cheating...so I've been equiping clown and swapping to Spirit just like ya said...
3 -
So make your play time private, problem solved.
2 -
Id be fine if they added what the killers name was somewhere in the lobby. It's not really an "issue" though as killers have much less chances to be toxic or they risk throwing their game and killers are usually less toxic (not trying to say there isn't any toxic killers, trying to say that the ratio of toxic survivors to toxic killers is favoured towards survivor).
0 -
My profile has always been private. I don't see any reason to not have it on private.
2 -
4v1 m8. The one needs to get some advantages.
4 -
But MLGA is banned, isnt it? And it is supposed to be blacklisted by the anti-cheat thing
@not_Queen @Peanits are you aware of this?
0 -
no but my RGB keyboard is. Imagine that LOL
MLGA has been around for years and doubt its ghoing anywhere, its been here before Freddy lol
1 -
It wasnt bannable nor blacklisted. It just wasnt white listed anymore since... What, late 2017? EAC support said you could use it back then. However mlga was used to see ping only (p2p) and salty survivor mains used to ban specific killer players too.
The software isnt the issue here, as been said, you can do it manually, that should be fixed, as thats how mlga finds out who the killah is.

It sounds fine and dandy but it can be beat by just last second switching.
Anything that can be beaten by last second switching isn't well designed. There's a whole lot of badly designed things in DbD.
0 -
Wow, that program came a lot since when I used it. Back then it was just to show ping in lobbies and became useless to me once the feature was implemented in the game.
0 -
I like the comments from Salty Survivors when I beat them. I also play other games where people might look at my profile and not gain information they don't need.
0 -
Killers already have advantages. They move faster, can see gens, hear rushed actions etc.
Seeing items and playtime is not needed. I can fast swap items last second anyway.
0 -
There are killer perks that only make sense to bring if you can see the survivors' items.
PS: You're part of the reason queues are so long. Survivors don't ready up, killers dodge. Equip your items, what are you so scared of anyway?
0 -
What? It's not even remotely the same thing. Survivors don't have unique attributes that are hard countered by specific perks or loadouts. The most a killer can do is galaxy brain it and remember that xsniperguy95x (I made that up) likes to run DS or something. Quite different than 4 survivors all running otherwise borderline useless perks like Small Game or Calm Spirit because they saw the killer.

Its not mlga or mleb as they didn't work when dedicated servers were implemented.
It seems to be a program built on the same code but that one doesn't specifically tell you what killer it is but it gives you the killer ip information from the server.
So it doesn't say what killer they are actually playing but it does gives info on how many times you have played them and allows you to write note. If they main one they can use notes to say this which may be what is happening.
Since this doesn't interfere with any dbd files and simply gets information you can also get on any pc with some knowledge much like in the past with mlga EAC can not see it. Its also a legality issue since for EAC to see it they would need to scan for files outwith the game itself which in some countries breaches privacy laws.

With this logic, survivors should have the same tools to avoid toxic killers. And or killers that they wish to avoid simply because they are OP, Freddy comes to mind, spirit is a maybe, but not as much.

Wow I wondered why the rare times I play Doc at least 2 survivors seem to have calm spirit, and that hadn’t been common since the first week after his buffs.
1 -
Do a last-second switch from Doctor to something else and you guarantee they play with a useless perk. They might even DC.
1 -
Pretty much only play Doc for dailies but I may do a last second switch anyways just in case. I mean there are certain killers Object of obsession is borderline broken against, spine chill vs wraith, etc so I may just let these program users think one thing til the last moment. Thank you!
1 -
CSGO with private profile and I get tons of hacker accusations. It's so funny. But maybe it would be better if we could check profiles in dbd only after the game is over. Don't know. I don't check profiles before match anyway.

Your joking right?
