A Horrible Experience
Hey Guys, I just had the worst match i have ever played.
This game is the perfect showcase for me what a 4 man SWF can do.
Info about me: Im a Killer main and I know how the game works for the most part. I know how to run tiles and I know to not commit to a chase that goes for ever.
However I never had a game like this before and I would like somne advive/tips for what I could have done better.
Killer(me): Legion.
Map: The game
So I started the game and got a bit unlucky with patroling. The survivors or at least three of them started at the same place and it was the last gen i had to patrol but it popped before I could get there.
happens sometimes nothing to cry about.
Then I actually see them and manage to hit 2 of them with my power. One of them gets chased of course.
Now heres the problem of this game for me:
They all knew exactly how to run tiles, where they were, where they have been before and how many loops they could run.
All of them had dead hard but they didnt got greedy with loops. so they looped 2-3 times around a pallet and then dropped it. If they miscalculated the distance for a loop they used dead hard.
Its not a problem if one person knows exactly how to run tiles, but this was a 4 man where there was no weakling involved.
They all went to the shack tile after there first pallet loop when they gained some distance and they left before dropping the shack pallet.
I broke like 12-14 pallets this game and the only hits I scored were due to my power. except for two:
two times I commited to a chase long enough/ or they made a mistake to actually have them exhausted and without a pallet.
Now both times another survivor was there and ran into my face, bodyblocking me so the other one could gain distance to reach the next pallet.
This was my first game where I didnt even got a down and I have no clue what I could have done better in this situation.
Sure, ill get the GIT GUD comments, but I really want to know how XD
I get that it would have been a different game with nurse for example ( im decent at her) or spirit ( shes busted) or freddy who can do something against looping.
BUT i played Legion. I could injure them but not down them.
What could I have done better with a weaker killer, without a mori, without noed, without spirit fury enduring combo?
just with normal perks that are not super strong.
I really tired to switch targets often, but after the first hit they were just too organised.

Even if I knew what you could have done better I wouldn't tell you.

damn you're so cool, hey do us a favor we can't handle how cool you are could you just never post again? thanks!
on topic. I think you said it aka if you played a different killer like spirit, nurse, freddy, doc it would of been a different game because those killer have the best chances at catching survivors mid loop. Also 99% of players agree that if you get matched with a really good 4 man swf theres not much you can do.

Well i think removing the pallets slowly was the right move. If you had time to break that many pallets then the game went on for awhile. When it gets down to 1 or 2 gens if its still a massive struggle you can always revert to the tried and true basement. These teams are typically very altrustic so if you can get them to come to you then you can drag them into the mud.
A lot of it is playing the player. I had a guy (1 not 4 tbf) that was like this, he fell for 0 mind tricks. So i had to stop with the mindtricks and play him straight, when i switched tactics it threw him off and he made mistakes letting me down him.
At the end of the day though, as it currently stands, if a team is absokutely perfect you will lose, but thats very very rare.

You shouldn't be ruling out perks just because of XYZ. They are there for you to use, regardless of how others may feel about them. However the only reason why this doesn't matter is because the map and the players are random. You can't base your perks off something you don't know like their skill level or the map pick (unless you threw an offering).
You're going to have games were a group of players will know exactly what to do and how to beat you. Legion is no easy Killer on top of that. It may have been that you just weren't at their skill level. The only suggestion I might have is that you just go straight Gen patrol if all of them are running you that good. Especially if you're able to get them gen locked. I had a SWF's group destroying me while I was playing Freddy a long while back. I forced them to 3 Gen locked themselves where the Gens were all in view of each other and no more than 20 meters apart?
I spent the next 20 minutes just patrolling them, chasing Survivors off them but not too far. Hooking them between the patrol route I was doing until I finally got my 4k.

The best advice I can give is find the weak link, and make that your target. Also Sloppy Butcher and Thanatophobia work great against body blocking squads. Their ability to body block is based purely on their health, and the longer they take to heal, the longer they can't block for. And while they're getting smacked around during the block, the guy working gens runs slower too. My usual advice is if you see matching or themed names, presume it will be a sweaty game where you'll be dealing with them knowing every exact move you make.

Well, what perks were you running?
I'd recommend whispers for starters. It saves you a lot of time finding survivors. You can skip gens you know there are no survivors nearby.
Ultimately though, if the players are better than you, you have to kind of lower your expectations. Better players will win most of the time. You can then either decide to use them as practice to get better, you can give up, or you can try to force a 3-gen and keep them from completing it.

Where is the shack pallet on The Game? I didn't think it had one?

If survivors really want to win there is almost nothing in this game that prevents it. A coordinated 4-man SWF (and they don't have to be particularly good, just well coordinated) is an absolute nightmare for any killer. As they have 16 perks to share between them plus voice comms they will generally all always know exactly where you are, do gens much faster than normal in a pattern that prevents a good 3-gen, and usually all have one or two spots left over for some kind of second chance. If they all bring flashlights, puke.
If you run into a SWF of good survivors there's not really much point to trying. I'm sure you'll get your share of "get better" comments but the truth is that the game is heavily weighted in the survivor's favor, it's just up to the survivors to take advantage of it or not. This works when it's four strangers with limited communication ability. Like in a horror movie - things would go so much better if the camp counselors would just band together, but no, they get picked off one by one, weakest link first. But when it's four people on comms it's like pitting Jason against Delta Force.
My bandaid fix for this would be to eliminate one perk slot for every additional party member. 2 man SWF each get 3 perks each, 3 man get 2, 4 man get 1.

I was Running BBQ, Thana, Dying light and monitor. However I know how good whispers is, but I had no problem finding people this game^^

Okay but how did they run to the shack if the map was The Game? It doesn't have a Shack.

Would I be wrong to say that the complaint is that other people are better at the game then you are? There are situations you don’t know how to react to and this is a problem with the game?

The aka "God Pallet" in the entrance to the killer shack which all outdoor maps I am pretty sure have. Indoor maps which I consider cancer won't have a shack and thus no pallet in the shack.
The Game is an indoor map. No shack pallet.

I think he meant he was starting the match. Not playing on the Game map.

Thats the problem with this game, only spirit and nurse can deal with the strongest swf teams.

It says "Map: the game". That'd mean the map was The Game wouldn't it?
I could be wrong but I think the Game Map is kind of bad for Legion to begin with. There are only certain drop off points so using your power is a little harder than on other maps imo.

No in the OP he says “Map - The Game” and I am also confused what he ment by shack tile.. there is no shack there
0 -
there is a shack formed tile in the game
0 -
There is no real shack in the game, however there is a tile that is exacty formed like the shack. God pallet, window and a doorway.
So i call it shack

Well considering I asked for tips and help, would it be wrong to say that you werent able to see what this thread is about?
Off course there are people better then me in this game. I lost to good survivors who won mindgames before. But these guys just ran tiles correctly and were on comms because no survivor would be able to sneak in for a bodyblock at the perfect time twice.
I never said its a problem with the game even if I think there its unbalanced. But this doesnt matter because I asked for help and tips in this thread.

The problem is that the game is severely unbalanced when you're dealing with swf on comms. There is no real advice except to just be way better than all four of the other players. The margin of error for you is negligible; one mistake or one missed opportunity could be all it takes for them to build an insurmountable lead in the attrition game.

Don't break unsafe pallets but pretend to so they leave the loop for the next one, this can catch them off guard and land a hit. Or use FF to get in front of an injured survivor and bodyblock they're planned escape route. This causes confusion so they don't gain enough distance when you're in fatique. These teams are really good so you need to up your game and switch tactics a few times or else they catch on.

The Game is probably not a great map for legions power. But typically with legion I do well with just using the power and hurting who is close by and just follow up with the down after I cool down. Most the time I don't go out of my way for farther targets. I'll use frenzy to get to a location quick and hit whoever is there and just follow up don't leave them.

There isn't. You have some similar jungle/pallet gyms, and one l-t wall. There is no structure on the map that is like the shack how you describe- the freezer room is the closest I can think of.

There is XD I dont know how to argue. You google "the game dbd" and you will get an image of the map layout. The shack tile is always in the lower area. Maybe someone can help and get a picture of it, but there is a shack formed tile. im 100% sure. It just doesnt have the same textures

DBD WIki has this image for the lower foor:
Please feel free to point out which of these rooms (ie 3 right 2 down) is the shack. Alternatively, next time you encounter it screenshot it and post it, I'd ove to see,

This is more or less the best advice I can give, also as a player who enjoys Legion (currently my second? most played killer of the month). If your mindgames aren't working, stopping the mindgame is in and of itself a mindgame, and it's a STRONG one. On my Wraith, if someone's consistently calling my bluff on doubling back on semi-safe pallets that have dropped, I can and will play it straight, and that gets me hits/downs way faster than had I kept trying for the mindgame.
I enjoy playing the "weaker" killers more than the strong ones right now, so I live on mindgames...one that I've recently started trying with honestly good success is: if you're stuck on a tile that has a section where there's no opening (so this doesn't work well for shack unfortunately), and the survivor knows you like to double back and has come to expect it from you, when you hit the part of the loop that has no gaps, stop moving. As in completely. Make sure it's far enough back that your light doesn't spill out into the gap you'd be walking towards, but also hide your body. And wait a couple seconds, listen for movement, see how the survivor reacted. Odds are they won't be leaving the tile since that'd give you distance had you doubled back again, so see if they assume you doubled back or if you're running it straight. I've had survivors that've been completely outplaying me running directly into me as I stand there for a couple seconds...I think it's just ingrained in their mentality that killers will ALWAYS be on the move trying to catch them, and therefore will use the information of "I can't see them but they're still right by me" as a reason to make a decision quickly, which often ends up being the wrong one.
Just food for thought though, and if no mindgame is working abandoning them in favor of playing it straight is completely acceptable.

What's the point of this post?

You were playing Legion so the odds were already against you. They're one of the weakest killers. Don't feel bad losing to a swf as Legion.
