New prestige rewards = lunar event sparkle effect
Do you guys remember the cool effect you had as survivor when you took a lantern?
Maybe that's going to be the new prestige rewards, I remember how people suggested this a lot back then

The effect also made hiding harder. I don’t think that would be a good idea, at least by itself.

Well, legacy makes hiding harder aswell (or lets say blending) but many people still use it because it looks cool. Those who are that tryhard that even cosmetics matter to much for them dont have to use it

The great thing about it is that Mcote openly said that cosmetics should be pay to lose and should not offer an advantage meaning as long as its sparkly then it wouldn't be breaking the stealth mechanic of the game people could still play stealthy they would just not use the cosmetic.

I looked up a discussion about this topic and I believe Not_Queen said that they were going to implement them when they came out.

They probably had to figure a way to apply it to base skin keep in mind that is really hard to do.

Its possible now that i think about it blight actually does that already when a killer is walking you see the blight sparkles behind them trappers for example maybe thats what they meant when they said they wanted to find a way to incorperate it.
Either way i just hope prestige rewards are not a let down people have waited for a hot minute for new prestige rewards and i dont know about you but some more outfits would be welcomed.

Good. No one buys Pink Haired, Green Haired Nea, Botanist Legacy Claudette, Red Jacket Adam, Shirtless David, etc, etc, etc, etc because they want to hide.
And those are top selling outfits.

Yes, you don’t have to equip it. But won’t it be disappointing to the people who don’t want it? You get another useless cosmetic. That’s the reason people don’t prestige today! The lantern glow effect is fine, but give us something else to go with it, something that everyone will use during their playtime like more shards or BP.

that would be a huge disadvantage ingame though...
i think the whole point of having that sparkle effect back then was to make it harder to hide from the killer, so they could hook you and destroy your lantern more easily.
not that i'd be against it, im just saying that gameplay wise no one would really want to wear it.

okay, let me rephrase this:
no one that isnt part of the toxic / chase hungry community would want to wear that, as it would give them a competetive disadvantage in terms of not being able to play stealthy.
also a pink outfit is something else than a glowing effect comming off of your body - the later makes it literally impossible to hide anywhere, while the first just wont allow you to blend into your surroundings, yet still allows you to hide behind objects and such.
ive had many people die to their cosmetic choice, just because they tried hiding with said cosmetics and got immediately found.
in short:
i wouldnt want to have my prestige reward be a huge disadvantage ingame.

You do know there are other ways to hide other than crouching right....
Lockers, behind walls, basement plays, behind trees.
Pyramid Head is basically getting a free tracking already with the Barbed Wires tailing survivors the entire time we're not caught.

you wouldnt be able to hide behind any small or thin obstacle (such as trees or scrap from autohaven), as your cool new glowing effect is going to be taller than your playermodel - aswell as being a lightsource. that literally attracts the eyes of a killer. it would be the same as with old legacys, which would give survivors who were wearing them a huge disadvantage, as they wouldnt be able to hide properly anymore.
and i have seen many people state they wouldnt wear them, just because they would be "hidden like a christmas tree" as many liked to put it.
you can not deny that it would heavily influence the stealth abilities of any survivor wearing this effect.
also pyramid head only gets the tracking on his paths when survivors walk or run through them - plus the effect goes away after being caged / saving someone from a cage.

If that would mean that every Blendette was forced to have that aura following her 24/7, I'm down.
It wouldn't encourage me in the slightest to prestige any of my characters though.
