Why is Object of Obsession a perk?
It’s pretty funny when a boosted survivor uses it. and who is it supposed to help?

It is relatively broken in a coordinated SWF
Because a SWF can basically tell each other what the Killer is doing with Object.

It helps SWF. But then, devs pretend SWF doesn't exist, thus, OoO is fine.

Tryhard SWF. I hope it gets reworked or disabled on SWF, its far too powerful on coordinated teams

I made this suggestion a long time ago and I stand by it.
"Standing within the killer's terror radius while not in a chase for 45 seconds activates object of obsession.
Once object of obsession is activated, press the Active Ability Button while standing and motionless.
After activating object of obsession, you become the killer's obsession.
All survivors see the aura of the killer while inside the killer's terror radius for the next 30 seconds.
Your aura is revealed to the killer and the killer's aura is revealed to you for the next 30 seconds.

What this does.
- It makes it so that you have to earn the effect of object of obsession
- Object of Obsession is good for SWFs while being bad in solo play. This makes it so that the benefit is the same for SWFs and Solo
- Just like the current object of obsession the purpose of the perk is to draw the attention away from your team mates to yourself. This is why I've given team mates the tools to loop killers better while the effect is active.

Not as broken as you might think. The occasional ghost face and wraith math up makes the perk not always good.

No perk should completely counter a Killer like that.
There are perks that *helps* countering them like Spine Chill with Stealth Killers or Spirit, Iron Will with Spirit, Calm Spirit with Doctor, hell, Self Care with Freddy (to wake yourself up same way you did with Old Freddy)
But OoO is just a hard counter that makes facing Freddy stupidly easy.

I dont even know why object is a perk in a horror game.
What is horror about seeing the jumpscare coming from a mile away.

It's the most frustrating perk to go against as a basic attack 115% killer because they stay by the strong loops or they just have so much time to get to them. You basically have to ignore them or you'll lose the game.

The devs support bullying by SWF so hence the perk still exists.

Freddy nearly completely negates Borrowed Time for free, so I guess it's only fair that a different and much less commonly used perk nearly completely negates his mindgame efforts for free.

BT still works if you are awake, if you rescue Survivors while asleep or if Freddy is nearby you should ask yourself if that was wise or not.

It was a ill-advised addition to the game. It made some sense lore-wise for the Halloween chapter. The problems arise in the actual gameplay.
Then, to sorta balance it out, at least for stealth killers, they decided that nerfing OoO directly was too big brain. So, they introduced Undetectable, nerfing in the process a lot of aura reading perks that didn't need nerf to begin with and leaving OoO still very strong.

I honestly am scared of using it sometimes, but whenever I want the killer to chase me to get better I equip it, no matter solo or swf
