A camp for a genrush

I played a game as Hillbilly and the first gen popped in like 20 seconds. The second gen popped 40 seconds later, so I got someone down with my Chainsaw and hooked them. Two people came to save him, I downed one and the other two escaped. I hooked him, the same 2 people came again and this time, I downed both. The last guy was easy to find and I got a Merciless. I was a "camper" apparently.

So, camping in response to a genrush, is it OK on a moral standart ?

    Why wouldn't it be ok?

I don't know, I get called out for it everytime I get a Merciless in a genrush 4k squad

Ignore them. As long as you're not cheating/hacking/exploiting/whatever, it's fine.

Camping is ok, same with genrushing. If survivors want to hammer out gens as fast as possible for a quick win that's their choice. Half the time what you define as "gen rushing" is just survivors playing well and not grouping up. You don't apply pressure and the gens fly. And unless they had 4 BNPs and prove thyself, they did not do the first gen in 20 seconds, nor the second gen in 40.

I think its near those numbers and the gens were close

If a killer gets any more than one, maybe two kills when camping, then there's nobody to blame but the survivors, really.

What's immoral about playing normally? The only thing you could argue being immoral is that clearly the Match Making System is broken since they put potato survivors up against you.

How do you personally stop the teams that are splitting up and working on 4 different gens at the start of the match?

So you admit youre a bad player that has to frustrate others in response for your own lack of skill. OKAY ... not.

It doesnt matter how often it happens, when it does it highlights the issues with the game. Its also the point of this thread. And stop being hostile, im trying to have a conversation with you not attack you.

So this is the issue with what you just said. In most games it probably took you 30 seconds to find that first survivor. Lets be SUPER generous and say it took 10 seconds to get that first hit. So were at 40 seconds and that gen probably has 20 seconds of progress on it.

Now you spend 20 seconds finding the next person on the next gen including the time it took you to lay that portal. So now were 60 seconds into the game. Well be generous again and say it takes you 10 seconds to get that hit. You lay your portal down and start walking to the next gen.

2 gens pop and all youve done is hit 2 people at this point. That first person has already sc'd (if they even bothered, they probably didnt) and there back on their gen, its probably about half dobe by now, that 4th gen is at 60 even with you kicking it, its only going to lose 10 secs or so.

But you keep going. You find the 3rd person. No pallets have been removed at this point because weve been super generous in giving you that first hit very quickly, lets be even more generous and say 2 have been. If you hit this person and dont commit to the chase, that 2nd gen we talked about is gone, that person didnt heal with tge gen being that close to done. The first gen is now at about 60 seconds. If you do commit to that chase both are gone and theres only 1 gen left. Because there are still so many pallets out there, if you commit to that chase its going to take you AT LEAST 30 seconds to down that person. By the time you get them hooked all 3 of the survivors are on the last gen. Its probably a quarter of the way done. This is a gg and youve only got 1 hook.

So now what? You just walk away from the one hook you got? Knowing theres 0 chance of you stopping that last gen from being done? Or...do you camp? Gens done anyway at least if you camp you might get one.

Do you want to try a different tactic?

You camp and tunnel regardless of whether you did or didn't.

I've had messages on PS all day today being called camper, tunnel etc. Most games i hook and walk away, i'll only tunnel or camp you if you try to ruin my experience by attempting to bully, be outright toxic or bring OoO.

Moral of the story, don't let anyone get to you in this game. People do not like losing and need to vent a reason as to why they lost. You as the killer are sadly that vent.

I don't think gen speeds are broken, they are balanced but I am a rank 7 killer and I go against rank 1 4-man swf squads. They have better perks since they played the game more while I don't have anything to slow gen speed. I don't live in an economically good nation so I have to wait for sales to happen. I don't have corrupt, pop or anything. If the game puts me against rank 1's, how do I counter them without having any perks to slow gen speed ?

Uhm... how, exactly ? They frustrate me, the game frustrates me (by putting me against rank 1's) but I can't frustrate the people who frustrate me ? Like I said, I don't have anything to counter them. I can't slow gen speed, I can't put pressure onto survivors since they are gods at looping and they are objectively better than me. I can't do anything at that point. If you think I can do something without camping to put pressure onto survivors, I am open to suggestions.

I asked you a specific question. How do you personally stop a 4 man that splits up. Thats what gen rushing is. There are other ways of them doing it but there not as optimal. You came in talking about how ONLY trash killers camp because of a gen rush. And if youre saying that you must have some magical wisdom the rest of us dont have. So I'll ask again, how do YOU stop a 4 man gen rush?

And no, I didnt just "choose numbers" if you play against these teams you know how it goes because it always plays out the same.

Slugging helps a lot, dont be afraid to slug whenever possible. If you see 2 people slug one chase the other. This wont stop a legit gen rush but it will slow it a touch

Don't try to follow survivors rules. Play like you want to play. Even if you have to slug, camp or tunnel.

Camp, tunnel, slug, Mori - it's all fair game. If the survivors get annoyed then they should complain that the game is annoying, not that you are. Maybe they'll try playing killer and see that literally everything that survivors do in the current meta is annoying.

As a killer, you've got one thing and one thing only that you can do to advance your objective of pleasing the Entity: make survivors dead. If survivors BM cause you did that in a way they didn't like, well, they're still dead and the Entity is still pleased.
