The new map is awful
It looks great. But its right up there next to Yamoaka and Lerys for me. If it wasnt for the penalty, Id DC if I get it.

I agree. I've saved up a bunch of map offerings that I'm gonna be using over the next week or two.

I used to hate the game as both roles. But after getting used to it i kinda like it. Play a few games before rushing to conclusions

I hate it too. It's like Hawkin's Lab where gens are extra hidden and every pallet is unsafe.

The problem I have with it is getting to the different floors. Want to go to the other floor? Use the staircase across the building. Even with 4 staircases it's annoying.

It's a corn size two store map with a bunch of pallets. I hate it.

There are no vaults. It makes Lithe useless. They need to fix it ASAP!

This is the biggest problem. It's even harder to get between floors than The Game.
None of the pallets are safe though. They're all very short loops, easy to mindgame.

Imagine using OoO on the new map... the killer would take so long to catch up to you. I don't like the new map either.

Ugh this too. Also the staircases with the dead ends at the top where hooks and totems can spawn.

Only reason why I hate the map is simply because it's loud and me being a Spirit main, I will happily take a DC penalty rather than play on a map that takes away one of my senses

I love it, its small but i really like it. I guess not everyone have the same taste. I would love to play only that map and that the devs give it a variation too. There is plenty of places that they can add as variations in the silent hill universe.
That not true. There is at least 2 "must break" pallet spawns. One is right next to the basement, other in a corner in the hallway and another one in one of the rooms in a broken wall. Oh and there is another one in the bathrooms.
There is a collapsed roof where you can reach second floor besides the stairs and a hole where you can jump down. Also you can jump to the yard from a broken wall in second floor. You can also jump to the inner part of the first floor though another broken wall or window.
There is also like 3 safe window jumps.

Hate it. Wish map tokens worked as 'ban picks' instead of how they currently work. Then i'd have a reason to stock em up.

Doesn't mean I'm going to stop playing with Spirit, chase music has been loud for so long that I learned to focus my hearing on certain things such as survivor's regular breathing and footsteps! Just give me some practice time on the map and trust me the map sounds won't bother me

Oh and I forgot to mention, I had a head pop and i wasnt running anything at all to make that happen. Then i got to thinking about it, it has to be a ######### to get the rbts off on that map. Whats the addon that hides the boxes till its activated? Yeah run that and tampered timer with a midwitch map offering and its going to be head pop city. In a month or two maybe not so mufh, but right now, holy ######### thats got to be a crazy combo

I'm not a fan of the size. The only problems with the new map are the exit gate spawns and the size.

It's actually one of my favorite things about this chapter, and maybe my favorite map in the game. They stayed so true to SH1. It has a couple of easter eggs. It actually feels like a horror map. You can play with those dead ends to traps survivors too -- one person got me earlier by opening only the bottom part of the stair case.
So idk, I'm super pleased.

For me Hawkins was the worst map. Keyword is "was" cuz now the new school map took the crone for being a stupid map. Good looking but gameplay is terrible on it. I gave it many tries today but now I'm starting to use map offerings every match just to avoid it

Only had the opportunity to play it once, but it did leave a sour taste in my mouth. My issue is how many corridors and rooms don't have loops, just pallets thrown in that you are forced to break. Can't mindgame them in any way.
Then the exit gates. I don't know if it was rng, but both gates had a pallet loop in front of them. Seriously?

This map has also so many dead end rooms. The killer can usually trap you inside a room after you dropped a pallet and can get a guaranteed hit on you no matter how well you played the pallet stun

I like it aesthetic wise and it has a bunch of easter eggs so I can appreciate that.
I hate it gameplay wise though because it is walking simulator, it is massive, and it has confusing routes making it hard to locate generators and stairs. If the map didn’t have such a confusing layout then it wouldn’t be so bad.

Ya the layout is insane...tons of ways to get down...2 ways to go up...need to check gens upstairs? Meh just forget them cause you spend half the game searching for the stairs...

I hate this map so much on both sides. I don't know how a person can look at a two story map. Give basically 0 ways to get to the second floor and, then say "Welp send it to live". Genuinely how am I supposed to pressure this, it feels like I have to hunt for a staircase more than I have to hunt the survivors. I can't even enjoy it as survivor because of the horrible Hawkins style pallets.

Two safe pallets on an entire map is ridiculous tbh, and the window jumps only apply when you're already upstairs. Even then, you can't really use them during a chase without Balanced Landing or that's a free hit.

I hate it because i get lost so easily. Struggle to find the room with the shortcuts, so reduced to walking around aimlessly looking for the stairs...
Hopefully time will change that.

Tried pallet freddy and got placed there. There are no unused pallets for pallet freddy to fake also pretty hard to go upstairs only 3 ways and they are kind of confusing. Like the map though.

I am really hoping people don't realize how broken Object is on this map. Its essentially a guaranteed loss. The map is terrible.

There are at least 2 pallets next to the stairs, possibly in infirmary, in 1F male toilet and two pallets at the back of the clock tower.
