So why are we punishing people for liking a character?
I mean seriously all day today I've been getting relentlessly tunneled and camped for playing Lisa Garland and Im even seeing in the forums that its a trend to be toxic towards Lisa players so why? Why aren't we allowed to like a character? (EDIT: I mean come on how can you hate her :( )

You're playing a new character, meaning you have fewer perks, meaning you'll be the easier target. This happens every single time. It happens to people trying out the new killer in the PTB as well.

Maybe because people are still levelling her up, they may not have all the meta perks available and as a result are easier to tunnel/camp?

Well no I've seen them run past Cheryl just to get to me or something else like that. It seems to be solely when I play Lisa I get a huge set of toxic behavior

Looking on the forums there seems to be a huge hate for Lisa and im not sure why. As far as I know she was welcomed with open arms when she was announced I'm not sure why she's being so hated on now.

Most likely because BHVR did quite a poor Job with their first Legendary Skin and some people think that it is smart to "punish" those who support it.

They're being punished for paying for it. Some are disgusted with the expensive price for the skin and are in turn making life difficult for anyone who dares purchase and equip it. It's not a good situation.
Although admittedly I tend to taste blood in my mouth when I see a Bunny Feng.

I am pretty sure it’s mostly because she is new. I noticed heavy tunneling on Cheryl as well (haven’t had a Lisa in my team yet).
but there will always be some killers that will target specific characters (there are quite some that will target Claudette and make sure every Claudette player has a bad time). There shouldn’t be too many of those though, and I guess once Cheryl and Lisa and longer in and maybe more legendary skins will be available this should normalize itself..

It's not the 'character' per se- its the people who just have the Lisa skin. It costs more than the DLC itself- almost enough Auric Cells to buy 3 characters. Personally if people want to pay that much for a cosmetic (since its just that- a new look and pose, nothing else) that's up to them, idc when I see them ingame. But you're gonna have your trolls that want to lash out at BHVR for letting this happen, so they go for the 'poor' Lisas.

Tunneling Lisa Skins might be an interesting protest tactic.
The legendary skins are lack luster money grabs indicated by the lack of a new voice for the skin and the marketing spin that this "new" character doesn't come with perks or lore.
This skin is more than the entire dlc.
Perhaps the protest is in an effort to limit the skins use and subsequent purchase of those skins to encourage bhvr to give a better value to these $15 "Legendary Skins"

Flashy skins are always a target anyway, catches the eye. I'm not for people being singled out in a large way, but if someone wants to target all Bill's (had a guy who did that!) then what can you do? Just not play Bill? Lol.

Well I pretty much saved up cause I figured it would be in the $15-$20 dollar price range and Lisa has been my favorite character for almost 10 years now ever since I got into the franchise so I knew it'd be great to nab her when I could. Do I think she was a bit overpriced? Yes but for how long I've loved Silent Hill and Lisa I really knew she'd be my favorite to play and it sucks people wanna hate her or me for buying her/playing her as if thats really gonna change anything.

That's fine, but my personal issue is that you're willing to pay a premium price for a bargain bin item.
There's no separate voice actor or lore tied to the skin at the very least.
By paying for the item anyway, you and others with a similar "I don't care" mindset are encouraging the company to continue to sell uncommon items at exorbitant prices.
The more people buy these things, the sooner we'll see even more overpriced items in the store.
In the end, there's nothing we can really do about it since the company will do whatever they want.
But a small protest might become something more potent the longer the company continues to ignore concerns and do whatever they like...

Man I actually really liked you too. It sucks you support ruining someone elses fun just because something you don't need to pay for isn't up to your standards. Sorry you don't think shes up to your standards but its gross you feel the need to ruin everyone elses experiences and gameplay for it because that won't do anything

Believe it or not, most people don’t care for lore, perks or a separate voice actor. They buy it because they like the design/look and enjoy the game.

I can value a cow turd at $15 and somebody out there will buy it. Does that mean that the cow turd is worth 15$? Most people probably wouldn't agree.
Yes, there's obviously people who will buy something for any price if they like something about it enough, but that's kind of the point. Some people will view it as worth it, and other people will question why they do.
As for how I feel, I personally think it is kind of a ripoff and sets a bad precedent. I feel bad saying that because I did buy into the battle pass, but I felt better doing that with how much free time I have rather than buying skin after skin, because it's simply more cost efficient for me to get skins that way than through buying a bunch off the store. That being said, I still can recognize that the system is kind of predatory in the way it works, and that it isn't consumer-friendly. As somebody pointed out in a previous comment, the skin itself is worth more than the whole DLC. Actually double. I found myself asking what the difference between a new character entirely and a legendary skin would be, and it seems like it's just another reskin just without perks and a new voice. So why would somebody pay 3x the price for a "character" that comes with less actual value in-game than an actual character?
Again, you can feel how you want about it, but even though it's all kind of a gray area, my line starts to be drawn when the value of something just seems way too off. Battle pass, sure maybe it's a little predatory but for some people like me it's more cost efficient. As for the legendary skins? Well, the cost vs. what you get for those is pretty obvious...

Yeah, I sometimes get a distaste in my mouth when I see a pink haired Nea named "toxicnea" or "toxicnoob3cutie" or a bunny Feng, but I won't camp or tunnel them for that.

It's just a feeling that I get. They can be 3 things. 1: A very nice and fair survivor. 2: A bad player. Or 3: A sweaty tryhard with stretched resolution. Something about the cosmetic just irks me.

It's pretty vindictive. What is basically happening is that some killers are seeing this skin, know you really wanted it, know you bought it, and know you want to have a fun time with it.
They see putting the kibosh on this as a challenge i guess. Its like a griefing opportunity presented on a silver platter.
Lisa's have a huge target on their backs. Why? Cause you really wanted to play as Lisa. I don't condone it, just imo.

I saw one post where someone proposed a protest by going after the Lisa's. Not too many people went along with it,at all. I mean,it's a $15 skin. I can see why people aren't happy. I'm a big fan of the character,but can't justify the purchase. That doesn't mean I have some sorta hatred towards someone than does buy it. That's kind of silly. Just be easier to start a thread and complain. If it gets enough traction the devs usually see it. There's plenty of digital stuff that's been sold for way more money,and you always see people take issue with it.

I was excited to see the Lisa's running around but the first and only Lisa I've seen so far was a Tbagging douche so I tunneled the ever loving ######### out of them. I hope to make friends with other Lisas! :3

When I see a Lisa Garland In game I immediately think "you paid £15 for a skin, when I down you I will let you go only once as you are contributing towards a character I want being available as a legendary skin in the future" everytime, unless they're really good then I treat them equally.
