A rant about a chapter I was extremely excited for
I need to start this off by saying I absolutely loved the news that Silent Hill was coming to Dead By Daylight. I love that world and also think this sets up the possibility of another video game chapter in the future. Before I start the rant I want to say some positives first.
Positives:
Survivor Perks:
The new survivor I've really enjoyed playing. Her perks have been extremely fun to use and I can't wait to unlock her perks on my main. I thought Blood Pact was going to be my least favourite perk but it turns out to be my favourite.
New Map
The new map looks amazing. It's extremely confusing but is extremely cool with the jumpscares and other easter eggs on the map.
Negatives:
Killer Perks:
The new killer perks were all buffed slightly since the ptb but they are still incredibly weak. The undetectable perk shouldn't show survivors the aura of the generator imo. When you compare how cool they are compared to the survivors perks it's extremely disappointing.
Cosmetic Links:
Has anyone said anything positive about cosmetic links yet? I understood it on legendary skins but not on the normal Cheryl skins. I love mix and matching cosmetic pieces and this just ruins it for me. The Legion also has this which baffles me. The reason Mr Puddles was such a good edition to the game was because you could put the elephant head on any other Clown cosmetic. Also Lisa costs more than the whole chapter?! This is extremely confusing.
It says a lot that this particular topic seems to be ignored by the team. I may be wrong which I will take the criticism for if I am but I don't think a dev has explained this whatsoever.
Playstation Theme:
For those that don't know you can buy a bundle that includes dbd, the silent hill chapter and I think two other chapters. The thing is if you buy this you get a silent hill ps4 theme. Now as someone who obviously already owns the game and already has every dlc I find it extremely annoying that i can't get the theme when I just buy the dlc from the store.
I'm sorry but I need to say all of this. There is just a lot of questions I feel the team need to answer in relation to this chapter. I love this game and have been enjoying the chapter but these little things have left a bad taste in my mouth.

As for the linked cosmetics it's 100% due to Konami and the license agreement they have with the characters. Nothing BE can do about this.

I absolutely despise these linked cosmetics. Legendary skins was one thing but ALL of them? Hard pass.

Nothing they can do about the Legion skins also? They can't even just say "this was not our decision".
Usually ever change in dbd has it's lovers and haters. I haven't seen a single person say they are happy with this.

Agree on the Undetectable perk. In my opinion this is even better for survivors than running Premonition. You don't get an area, you get a clear location where the killer is. So you know where he is coming from and where you have to watch out. And even feeling safe when you are far enough away, knowing 16s is not enough to reach you. Also the killer can't really walk around you without LOS to surprise you from behind or something. 16s is not enough for that, especially combined with the clear indication where the killer is. I don't see how you could ever get good advantage out of this perk, unless the survivors just don't pay attention.
I think so, the Legion Bunnies are a reference to Silent Hill when I got that right. Legion is original, but the costumes are not. Correct me if Im wrong

Honestly the map looks nice and i really like the idea with the easter eggs, but when it comess to gameplay this map is terrible. The game and hawkins are confusing too but they have at least almost empty hallways. This map has so much stuff lying all over the place. As killer its hard to find anyone if they hide and as survivor its hard to find gens or pallets.
Maybe i will get used to it by playing it more but at the moment i don't have fun playing this map at all :/

The Legion skin is from Silent Hill 3 so no, Konami wouldn't want their IP running around with just a head and some random other clothes on.

Why couldn't this bunny costumes be released as Clown's Mr. Puddles? Imagine how much funny outfits you can get if head was separate! I hope Konami will rethink their opinion about legendary outfits. Note that Silent Hill itself has a lot of outfits as easter eggs that makes this game look not serious. So why are they want this bunny outfits only be weared as one-piece?

Now i didn't know that. If that's true at least that explains something.
I'd suggest going to the courtyard and learning the location of the bell tower. If you know what side the bell tower is on you can work out exactly where the stairs are from that. The stairs are guaranteed to spawn diagonally across the map from each other.
I'm personally still finding it tough to locate gens.

I didn't know that. Still says a lot that bigger companies have allowed the devs to do this but not Konami. Especially when the rumour was that Konami were allowing dbd to create their own new skins. You'd expect them to trust mixing non-legendary skins should still stay true to the character.
Just hope no other licences follow this.

I usually get the adept first try but I can't atm. His ability has such an easy tell and is extremely slow. Extremely frustrating because the killer itself I think looks cool.
Just lost to a team of Neas and Meg. I could tell they were alright but nothing that good. But his chases potential is extremely bad and the fact he has no slowdown is hurting him a lot.

Just got the adept there now. Felt more like luck than anything else.
Personally I've just gotten into the habit of tormenting everyone, never using cages then using final judgement on death hook.

I hate the links i just sat there saying seriosuly so now I can mix and match as I would like, really game. I understood for legendary skins but for regular skins I'm saying this is bull I hope they only do this rarely because its not fun for me just to get a single piece I want when I have to pay for the whole thing. Plus i'm not a huge fan of the new legion cosmetics, I mean they look fine and cool its just that they are linked and its just ugh.

I don't normally complain and it isn't my sort of thing to make a rank but I felt I needed to put all the information floating around into one discussion. Also their is apparently a theme but I haven't seen it yet. Obviously no one who owns the game would buy it.
My biggest worry is that other licences will follow suit. Try and "protect" their licence by making all their skins linked. It's a real shame since they are also quite expensive.

I agree,it would be really stupid if they decide to continue this trend of linked cosmetics,but i'm pretty sure they did it that way because it was the only way to get more Silent Hill cosmetics.
I'm sure it was Konamis fault because the devs never had a problem with the skins for the other licensed characters.
But maybe these linked cosmetics could make it possible to get skins for characters like Freddy,Bubba,Quentin etc. in the future ?

The new map is God awful w deathslinger on ps4. It's so hard to land shots... Had fun w Freddy tho. Those teleports had em shook!

The cosmetic links are annoying, especially since they're applying to original characters (someone on another post pointed out a Nea one that's coming). One of the things that is fun about DBD is the ability to mix and match.
I'm wicked disappointed about the theme only being available in the $50 bundle. It is kind of insulting to those of us that have been supporting DBD that we can't get it without repurchasing the game/dlc we already have but some new player that may stop after a week will get the theme. It should've been available with the regular DLC.

I understand the robbie rabbit legion skins being one set only (plus it would look pretty stupid to pair it up with the normal cosmetics anyways imo) but I'm disappointed that all of Cheryl's cosmetics are linked. I wanted to mix and match stuff with the dark hair but I guess I'll stick to P3.

I mean, the survivor perks are not great neither, they sound great in concept but in practice they are just your average or powerful but situational perks that come into play once in a lifetime.
Soul Guard - People cried about this perk since day one without realizing how stupidly situational it can be, for it to come into play the killer must have an active hex in the first place for you to be able to pick yourself up and receive the protection hit, I mean, even if there is not hex active you get the endurance status effect amirite? for 8 seconds...
Blood pact - the speed boost is barely noticeable, if you somehow manage to activate it when the killer is about to reach you, he will probably hit you anyways. It may come into shine against 110% speed killers, but I dont see it having much use outside of it.
Repressed alliance - My personal favorite, it can deny 2 of the most powerful regression perks in the game: Pop and ruin. But they do not come into play every single game so, eh. I will run it anyways, I love the concept.

Dude I thought the same about the price of Lisa. I understand why she'd cost more but more than an entire CHAPTER? And we don't even get a custom voice or name in the lobby?
Auric cell's are way too expensive in general comparing to the amount you need to actually buy anything. IMO
