Trail of torment is dumb because it counter itself by exposing you using it (constructive feedback)
the perk on it's own is a very good idea and really i could maybe use it on some build, but the way it is right now, makes this perk worthless simply because it tells survivors you are now undetectable.
What is the point to have a perk making you have 0 terror radius if survivors will know you are now undetectable?
This perk is great to catch survivors off guard and honnestly is really easy to use and effective if it would be made right, but the whole perk is ruined and uneffective because of that simple fact, the gen is yellow when you use the perk, so every survivor KNOWS that you are at THAT GEN and coming this way, so what is the point from this? if they are working on a gen 40 meters away and see the yellow aura of the gen, unless the gen is nearly done they will walk away and wait it out, if they are far away, they won't even bother and keep working.
So was this perk any useful or did you got any value from it? most definetly not, no matter what, you will never get any value from this perk, no matter the range and no matter when/where, you give information to survivors, if they are far and work, nothing to worry about, if the survivor is around but don't know exactly where you are, they will now know where you were and keep hiding.
This perk doesn't give any benifits to the killer, the only effect i can think of would be if you damage a gen next to a hook and so counter BT, nothing else.
To make this perk actually good and worth using, you absolutely NEED to remove the yellow gen aura, this would make the perk good on it's own and really help catch survivors off guard, but if it keeps the yellow gen aura, it will never ever be effective and will give more informations to the survivors than helping you, this perk is actually hurting you more than it helps you, survivor sided perk on killers.
Remove the yellow gen aura and this perk will be used, i am sure of it, but right now, it simply hurts the killer.
Thanks for reading

Undetectable counters terror radius related perks. So they're not hook diving after you kick a gen. Or getting stacks on Stake Out.
1 -
I agree these perks are really weak and hard to use
4 -
who use stake out? and that wasn't the point of the post
2 -
People that want those sweet sweet bloodpoints and 1% generator progress points.
Those were the only two I could think of off the top of my head. Point is it has a niche.

Yeah, great perk, but really poor design. Anything to give survs another 1up tho right? Ugh
3 -
yes, that's true once again

Honestly the biggest limiting factor to this perk is the duration of 16 seconds. It wouldn't matter if the survivors knew what gen you kicked if the duration was longer. It's really hard to get much value from being undetectable when most of the time it wears off by the time you start approaching a survivor.
2 -
that as well, it's a very short duration, if it was 20 seconds it would be good really
1 -
Maybe a longer duration. But there's other undetectable perks that have requirements. Insidious requires you to stand still, Dark Devotion requires you to hit the Obsession.
I mean you don't have to use PH with this perk, and it can be used for mind games. Also I believe some survivor perks highlight a gen in yellow, so they could get tricked.
1 -
the only one is red herring, which is almost never used, and also if you work on another gen it shouldn't be yellow anymore so no confusion there
0 -
Better Together highlights gens yellow for other survivors while you are working on a gen.
0 -
It can also be used with Brutal Strength so you can quickly damage a gen and find a survivor before they have a chance to figure out that you're Undetectable.
0 -
Trial of Torment should be active after kicking a gen so the speed you kick won't matter as you'll be undetectable after you finish kicking.

I concur. A 60 second cooldown is more than enough for 16 seconds of undetectable. It's not that game breaking. The nurse has an add-on that gives her 16 seconds of undetectable if she lands a blink attack, but her aura isn't revealed to survivors. Why? Because that would be stupid and completely defeat the point of the add-on. Not sure why the same logic was not applied to this perk.

Only use I can think of is with blindness perks/addons.
The combo removes the downside.
0 -
so I need to hit survivors with another perk or add-ons to not have the downside of this perk?
0 -
Right. So the faster you kick the gen, the faster you can become sneaky and go after survivors.
0 -
that is true, bit u doubt a mind game is possible there, if they are around to see the yellow gen and the terro radius instantly dissapear, well it'S obvious what is going on
0 -
20% faster gen damage, doesn't change anything at all, they have the same time to react to it
0 -
pretty much. I don't like it either man.
2 -
If you use it with blindness builds, it's very strong. It actually has good synergy with deathbound and a few of his add ons, and I think hillbilly could greatly benefit from 16 seconds of silence... Overall I think it's underrated, but dependent on synergy to be really effective

20% isn't a lot? What gray rank are you?
I'm pretty sure becoming Undetectable at any point in the game is helpful.
0 -
20% is small, and I am rank 1 killer every single season 2-3 days after rank reset depending of how much I play, always get 3+kills every game, have 2.4K hours in this game, around 70% of it is killer sided, i am playing this game since 1.0.0, I have every dlc and most of my killers are maxed out, every perk and P3 and i've checked just now what my rank is in the dbd leaderboard here and I am 777 out of 99823 https://dbd.onteh.net.au/ look for suffering23 between 751-900 i am 777, now go back to your rank 20 brown matches mortis and grow up a bit.

Does that leaderboard track PS4 as well?

no i believe it's only steam, sorry

I think the undetectable effect itself is amazing. The yellow aura does ruin it, but I think without it the undetectable effect is actually really nice. Only problem I have with it is with audio. Demogorgon (one of the few killers who can naturally go undetectable at will without a perk) is a good example of this, because I can think of plenty of times (playing from both sides too) where a Demo would teleport through a portal and almost sneak up on somebody, but the mere sound of his stomping footsteps is enough to make them run away. I think if the undetectable effect lasted long enough, and maybe if undetectable made the sounds killers make less audible, like Demogorgon having quieter footsteps, then I wouldn't even mind the generator getting highlighted. At least then I could use a nice undetectable effect and try to get a hit out of it, kind of like somebody might try to do with Dark Devotion.
I agree with what you say though. It's an underwhelming perk.

I bet running this and BBQ w Freddy would be a nice combo tho. Gonna have to try it. You down them, hook them Activating BBQ and get info where others are, kick a gen to get undetected, and teleport to another. Hmmmm
0 -
could maybe work but still, short duration
0 -
Eh, no worries. I'm on steam now, but I don't think I'll ever play this game the way I did in 2017-early 19
0 -
IMO better use tinkerer
0 -
Yeah, you'd probably get about 8-10 secs after the teleport, which isn't much, but could be useful if you really know where survs are. Guess it'd be more of a gamble.

Just combine it with Thrill of the hunt+Third Seal so the totem can stay longer up and use this perk. That's the point of builds in dbd, to make perks work better together, removing downsides. One example I can give you is Spirit Fury+ Enduring. They both give eachother benefits that you wouldn't get by running them separately. Just work around it and if you dont like this combo use PGTW, a perk that gives you a big benefit and doesn't require that much of a skill, oh and also doesn't have a cooldown! Sometimes people just like complaining....

"Use PGTW, a perk that gives you a big benefit and doesn't require that much of a skill"
Let's talk about adrenaline, dead hard and DS shall we? you survivors have MAAAAANY perks without any downsides, we killers have too many.
0 -
One thing for certain, this makes survivors who use Better Together make people paranoid.
cough god damnit

It's because survivor perks can be strong, but killer perks can't, according to the devs. You wanna unsafe unhook? Borrowed Time! No drawbacks. You get unhooked? DS, no drawbacks! You wanna repair gens fast af? Prove thyself, NO DRAWBACKS!
Killer perks need to have cooldowns, timers, ultra specific conditions to be applied or a thousand different counters to the perk. There's a few exceptions of course, like Nurse's Calling, but most of them work like this.
2 -
that's true and it's so annoying, the devs are so afraid to make good killer perks while we killers have to deal with 16 powerful perks if they go try hard
