Hook suicide, a different approach
I am calling for people who hate hook suicide people who immediately do it as soon as they hooked to do something about this. in the same vein as the Tunnel/camp all Lisas.
i hearby will hook suicide every single game i play, to show how terrible it is, until the devs decide to do something about it. I ask you to join me in doing so, to eventually stop this menace from happening.

I dunno how they would do it, i believe in low ranks ppl may really try to get out of hook and fail a skill check from struggle. To then have a penalty for it would be unreasonable. Maybe such a penalty could be removed in lower ranks, but i don't know.

The devs (or at least mods) pretty quickly condemned the widespread targeting of Lisa, locking out and pulling down all the threads that were discussing it, calling it out as griefing which is a bannable offense, I would expect this would be treated similarly.
...Although who knows, maybe it will grab the devs attention.

Ok. I got used to 3 and 2vs1 matches when people were crashing on a loading screen and it took BHVR 200 decades to fix

Not gonna lie, as Survivor I kinda miss having those instead of just being kicked back to the main menu for another 5-15 minutes.
I still remember one game where me and a Rank 10 Bill won a 2v1 against a Leatherface. Good times.
Of course as Killer it was boring as heck farming every other game.

I'm rank 1 in both but good job assuming. I think it ruins games in both sides and needs to be fixed. But every thread people argue that they should be able to leave so I am going to show them what it means when it happens every game.

They should be able to leave - I'll not play a GAME that holds you hostage against your will.
Edit - if you don't like suicides, go find a four man SWF to exclusively play with.

If you don't like how other people play, then find a four man SWF to exclusively play with. When you queued up for solo, you queued up to play with randos, for better or for worse.

I suicide on hook when I see my teammates crouch walking around the map when the killer isn't anywhere near them and when they hide in lockers.

Yeah I did and while I prefer they don't suicide - that's their right if they do. So your point looks useless here. It is also my right to just dodge people who do suicide all the time. But purposely doing the thing you dislike just to protest it - is stupid.

It should just conclude if either somebody d/c'd or not. I could unplug my ethernet cable for 1 minute and dbd would still wait to reconnect...This would lower the amount of people with bad connection. As for missing? Meh. It made me a better survivor but it was too often just 1vs1 with no mercy lol.

They have stated multiple times that tunneling and camping is not against the rules. Unless you go out of your way multiple games to harass the same person. Hell the other day, someone had a "challenge" they thought up where they tunnel/camp/kill/be toxic to a specific survivor each day. Like, one day would be dwight, another day would be Kate, etc.

There are 1000th of matches being played at every moment
Even if you did this 24/7 you would 't even change the procentile of number of hook suicides

No, people were making plans that if a lisa (or lisas) came into their lobby, they would purposefully, deliberately, and exclusively only hunt down, tunnel, and kill the lisas and then let everyone else go.
So if one person was playing Lisa they'd focus purely on killing them and then let the other 3 just walk out for free.

I'd like maybe an extreme blood point/ emblem penalty to hook suiciding. Yeah it wouldn't curb all the suicides but I think it would reduce the amount a good bit.
Or alternatively bake a large amount of bloodpoints into the struggle phase to encourage the survivor to buy his team as much time as possible even if he knows he's dead.
