Serious question to those who cleanse against the Plague when there's no pools infected.
Why? Why on earth do you kill your team by doing that? I just had a Dwight single-handedly lose us an easy game because he kept cleansing. This Plague literally had her ability all game and could end chases in about 20 seconds. He killed another Dwight by cleansing in one spot, and killed me by cleansing in various different spots around the map.
Why on earth do you guys like to cleanse? If there's actually a good reason I might start doing it. But if you guys literally do it to get OnE eXtRa HeAlTh StAtE I will never understand.

Then you'll never understand.

I'm just going to suicide on hook if someone does that from now on, because now I can understand why people actually suicide on hook. Some teams literally kill each other against killers that rely on the team as a whole to play well.
4 -
Honestly, I dont understand either. Because giving her the Corrupt Purge is not worth the Healthstate someone gets from cleansing.
However, I cleanse myself if other people are doing that. But it is most likely a lost game at this point.
6 -
I don't even cleanse even then. Clearly I'm the idiot here, for thinking my team would get the hint and play it properly. I'm just going to be a complete pessimist from now on and suicide or cleanse if they do it twice.
3 -
Same here, mostly.
I avoid cleansing until someone else cleanses, and then it becomes a free for all. Its also kind of funny when the survivor who cleansed first gets downed by Corrupt Purge every time.
1 -
Their logic might be "If everyone can cleanse and corrupt all her pools, they all become clean and she only gets one activation of Corrupt Purge".
Before I get people jumping down my throat about how I'm killing everyone by cleansing, let me just say that this is only my guess at why other people do it. Let me say that again, other people do it and I'm trying to understand why they (people who are not me) do it.
Cue a reply from someone who ignores the second paragraph for the sake of comedy.

I have people doing it INSTANTLY on my team, like they don’t e en get broken but they touch an infected gen and run off to cleanse
0 -
That's exactly what the Dwight did. I wish Plague wasn't so damn team reliant.
Fun fact, this man hid in corners and evaded her while watching the rest of us die. He also kept cleansing after touching a gen.

Those players who bodyblock Oni as well are the worst. They will just give him his power more.

she starts with a corrupted fountain now, so not cleansing can be worse than cleansing (sometimes)
though i wont be the one who starts the whole cleansing stuff - ill do it in endgame / when the team is going down like nothing anyway and there is more profit in being healthy and going for hook rescues, though thats it.
i will start cleansing however once someone else cleansed, as that person is going to cleanse whenever they can anyway, so staying infected, loud and broken is just a huge disadvantage at that point.
1 -
See, that's reasonable, but she literally used it up at the start of the game. He had no reason to cleanse. He didn't even try to stop after either.

Clean yourself its very worth it
2 -
Screw that guy. That sounds annoying af.
0 -
It was, he literally killed the whole team. If there's potatoes like this in R1, then ima become a Plague main for the effortless games.
1 -
Nah actually, soak up the downs for that first go, spread out so she can't use Infectious Fright to slug you all and play it safe for the minute. That's the SMART thing to do, most people just go and cleanse for the ExTrA HeAlTh StAtE. You could also force it on her if you've got a good SWF team.

I always cleanse. Its not fun doing generators. However killer interaction is. Dodging plagues vomit and stunning her out of her corrupt purge is more fun then "oh dont cleanse just rush gens" Also the killer has a power wich can be denied by survivors what imo is a dumb design.
2 -
Oh god, they also annoy the hell out of me. I can only stand it if it'll get you off the Oni and he has full blood already.
1 -
The dumb design is also that it relies on the TEAMS. Plague crushes solo survivors. No offence, but if you were on my team, I would probably lose my ######### over it. Also, considering that most maps are open, it's very hard to dodge her. There's literally no interaction against a good Plague, dunno what you're on about. You'll only last remotely well on maps like Lerys.

Not everyone plays optimally and, quite honestly, it'd be pretty boring if everyone did/if every match against the same killer played out the exact same way :-/

It's the same reason that solo queue is often painful in general: many players have awful game awareness and tend to only think about their actions in the moment, not in the greater context of the trial overall. And it's why the perception of Plague from Plague players is often different from the reality many survivors experience. Plague will often annihilate a disorganized solo squad but struggle mightily against a coordinated team.
Against bad, average players, or simply disorganized players, I'll have everyone broken or infected within 1 gen and cruise to a W. Against a coordinated team of good players, it'll take me 3 gens to get everyone broken, and then they'll start to chain cleanse while they wrap up the last two gens. It won't matter that I have my power for the rest of the match at that point.

Dont stand in the open then. I get your point, but theres counterplay to her vomit. if you stun her she loses her power.
Its okay you dont want me on your team, but if you get me you have to deal with it.
People force their own playstyle on everyone else. just play the game man and if you cant get along with randoms then form a team.

its not about whats the best strat, its about whats the most fun.

I hate the fact the plague only gets her power when survivors cleanse. Not that i know what id change it to but the fact that survivors have sole control over the biggest part of her power literally being able to deny its use is insane. Its a strong power to be sure but so rarely do i really get to use it that, while she is my fav character, i cant help but feel gimped while playing her

Cleansing for the most part is bad till the end.
If you can't run an M1 killer with 1 health state, you definitely can't run from her Corrupt Purge xD
0 -
I normally do it cuz playing with 20 fps and the effect just makes it worse but if no one cleanses I will suck it up.
0 -
At least now Plague starts with a corrupt pool by default. Literally being unable to use part of her power because survivors control Plague being able to use it is kind of annoying.
0 -
Bad design. She should have a rework where she's able to control her power, but survivors aren't punished by their teams' errors. How? Idk. But she should have a rework of that level.
0 -
If all the gens in an area are finished, I'll cleanse. If Plague wants to travel to an area without gens to get a temporary power, then more power to her.
0 -
Even then, I can understand in endgame, but what if someone runs her there, and she takes her ability and gets an easy kill? And you'll only be infected in about a minute of cleansing. It's just not worth it even then. Endgame is the only somewhat understandable scenario.

Ur dum haha bad opinion

Because its fun sometimes.

Dude there are red ranks that don't know what a Borrowed Time is and stay in the basement and you think they will have an elaborate strategic thinking like no cleansing? LUL
For me it's easy. You cleanse I go and die to suicide on the hook. Enjoy the rest of the ruined match

My new method now.
I'm just going to yeet myself out of the game.
1 -
If I’m playing solo, I won’t cleanse unless my team does. I’m fine playing with one health state, and I run Resilience a lot anyway.
However, if I’m playing with my friends as a 4man, at some point during the game one of us will say “shall we make this game interesting?” And then we start constantly cleansing and it becomes absolute chaos and so much fun.
0 -
Ye, that's fine if it's SWF I can get that. But when you die cause of someone doing it in solo's... Really sucks.
2 -
Oh yeah totally! I've noticed it's usually lower ranks that cleanse super quickly, as higher ranks tend to be more confident in their abilities to adapt to different killers. I've had some decent matchmaking recently where it's all greens and purples on the end screen, but last month's rank reset had me back in high yellows, and that's where I ran into people cleansing because they barely touched an infected thing. Love getting downed with that Corrupt because I focused on objectives over a health state /s
Downside to not cleansing in higher ranks is the likelihood of Black Incense. I haven't used it on my Plague yet because I want to have more than one in my inventory before I do, but I can't wait.
0 -
Ok but do you cleanse when her initial corrupt fountain is still up?
0 -
Still no, unless I wanna force it in a SWF. I try to get my team to spread out so she can't snowball upon the first activation. It works really effectively.
0 -
Survivors that insist on "Never Cleanse Against The Plague" need to be punished. This is why the Entity created Dwights that Cleanse for literally no reason.
Also, you're forgetting Black Incense Plague is a thing that can happen, and you're not always better off avoiding Cleansing every match.
2 -
Against that, force her power, then let her have aura reading for the rest of the game. If you pressure gens heavily and keep yourselves in a good position to chase, you likely wont die. But that takes a team who are somewhat coordinated, meaning that Plague STOMPS solo's with that. Just another example of why she needs a rework.
0 -
im not gonna gift her that 4k just so i can say "well at least i didnt give her her power".
if we have one guy hooked, another one downed and the third potentially in a chase i wont go there while fully infected, unless i know its safe to do so.
that would be suicide.
also i have no controll over what the randoms in my team are doing, so "just spread out" or "coordinate your approach properly" is great advise - for SWFs, which really helps me as a solo player.
0 -
Honestly, you'd find it odd how easily I'm able to coordinate my solo's team most the time. I can USUALLY (unless we get people like that Dwight) force them to spread out on gens early game which leads to a fast pace of gens getting done. But that's only if they understand my intentions which most people will. Sometimes I get rank 20's and just pressure gens myself while they die because it's their second game ever. Matchmaking... :3
If you also get a lucky team, you can definitely coordinate them to spread out. Most survivors usually get it. It's the reason I hate facing Plague. Her whole power relies on people who don't understand her. 1 person who doesn't can bring a team down of people who do. It's pretty depressing. I think she should get the Doc treatment, personally.

when I watched dbd i always wondered why nobody ever cleansed, but now my eyes have been opened
0 -
Her corrupt mode is REALLY strong. She's like Deathslinger, with an AOE and if on the high ground, a lot of range. In maps like Lerys, she's very loopable. But in pretty much any other map, you wont be able to loop a good Plague with good aim.
