Clown should be reworked into a joke character
I want clown to be the most crazy absurd joke character in Dead By Daylight. Or instead of reworking clown make a new killer called The Jester. On the case of The Jester, a carnival map with rotating basement carousel hooks once a survivor is on it would be too cool.
Back on the topic of a Clown rework, instead of having these boring gas bottles, instead we could have exploding pies that put pie bits on you that make you slow down. Have a mori that is the clown literally sitting on you and crush your skull while a woopy cushion goes off. Have the chase theme be the stupid clown theme. Have Clown be able to BM you by pressing a clown nose and then theres a clown honk. There are so many possible funny practical gags that can be done for a joke killer and its a shame its going to waste. It only helps this case that Clown is probably the worst killer, which could help him in his case to be a joke killer.

The chase theme should be "entry of the gladiators", pressing Ctrl should honk the clown nose. Using your power should throw a pie to slow and blur vision on survivors as well as putting a physical pie on their face.

just imagine the bugs, itd be awesome.
You get hooked and a spinning basement hook and the physics slingshot you into the stratosphere never to be seen or healed again.
Literally all game breaking itd be worth it though, theyd actually have to do bug fixes

I didnt think of that, probably when nobody is in the basement the hooks would spin but when someone approaches the hooks it would stop spinning

Honestly I was just literally thinking of something similar to this! 😂 I never feel like the clown’s power really suits him just because of the clown aspect of it. Screw the backstory, if they give Jeff Hawk that power then call him “the chemist” and give the name “the clown” to someone else.

Clown in all reality is an extremely creepy and off-putting character with some really interesting lore, in this way he's one of my favorite killers. Just to throw that all away for a gag? no thanks.

Yeah neat idea but not really thematic in a dbd sense.
Clowns are up there with death spiders, sharks and public speaking on people’s phobia lists. The fact he’s a bit of a dark creepy twisted fiend kinda works.

I understand the idea of not trying to destroy the clowns lore. Thats why I also offer the idea of a new similar killer being The Jester or maybe The Freak that really drills in the joke aesthetic. Though its not like bhvr hasnt been opposed to doing joke things with clown in the past, as we see with the elephant skin.
Though to try to play this into the lore, the sort of joke act could be the way that the clown lure you into the false clown act to cut off your fingers. I feel like theres a way to make this work out.
More important I unironically feel like this kind of joke killer, even if its against the DBD aesthetic, alot of people would actually have a far better experience either having fun with a joke killer, and I imagine survivors would like to play against some joke killer.

Yeah a new killer could be interesting with common jokes slapped on them, maybe noise traps that give away locations of the survivor like woopy cushions and buzzers, the pie idea someone gave earlier could also be a thing. Im perfectly ok with keeping our sexy clown too

Would be funny if he made a loud fart when vaulting, and burping when a pallet hits him. I want him to be a funny and obnoxious killer. And the mori should be him pushing the survivors head between he's cheeks and fart while suffocate the survivor.

facts, its not just that hes bad, I also think hes just as boring to play as leatherface, my other least favorite killer to play in dbd.

Yeah that's what i don't get about the devs saying his power is underestimated. I don't really think it is especially compared to doctor but even if it was fantastic it would still be one of the simplest powers in dbd, that's the problem people have with him.
I personally think a totally doable rework would be to change his add ons to change the effects of his gas. I'm not really too big on add ons in general but it would make so much sense with him

Honestly the biggest clown rework that should happen is not making clown become a slug when hes reloading so slots dont have to be committed to fixing his weaknesses rather than playing on strengths. Clowns add on set is decent, there are better. There could be gasses of different effects which could be a cool rework

New secondary power: Big Red Nose
The Clown produces a shiny red nose from his pocket, momentarily dons it and honks it, producing a honking sound that can be heard by all survivors within his terror radius.
All survivors within the Clown's terror radius will briefly scream and reveal their location to all players, and all affected survivors will be inflicted with the obliviousness and blindness status effects for 30(?) seconds. Cooldown of 60 seconds (equivalent to doctor's static blast). It'd be best to modify the obliviousness status effect for this so that afflicted survivors also cannot perceive his red stain.
The aim of this is to allow Clown to momentarily jumpscare players like a true scary evil clown, while also giving him some much-needed tracking. They should give him new chase music like a warped version of Entrance of the Gladiators, but whenever they're affected by his Big Red Nose in place of his terror radius they hear ominous calliope music which gives them no indication of how far away or close he is. This way they become unsettled but can't hear Clown's footsteps and wheezes as easily over the calliope.

Great post my dude, I like your thinking :P there are so many possibilities to exploit clown tropes further, I like the character in DBD but sometimes it kinda feels like a wasted oppurtunity. In fact, there is so much they could do it might as well be his own game. Clown by Daylight, anyone?

That'd be cool yeah. A creepy killer Jester would be cool
But then again if we ever get Pennywise as a licensed killer then we're a few steps away from the whole roster being a giant funhouse. So maybe not, I think the cap for killer-tie-ins / killers who are related with similar origins is two, but that's just a personal preference / headcanon.
