How do you get remotivated to play the game?

Been on a DBD break for a few months now due to personal reasons and boredom of the repetitive grind.

I watch plenty of youtube videos on the game and wanna play again like I use to, but the problem is everytime I play 0its only for a game or 2 then I feel the boredom kick in. Just feels like I'm playing for no reason.

Anyway as I stated I'd like to get back into it so what's the motivation for you guys to keep playing game after game of DBD?

I usually shake things up quite a bit. If I'm tired of the build I'm running, I'll run something entirely different. I'm running Sabo even though I know it's not that good but it changes how I play and keeps things from getting too repetitive. If I'm playing a lot of one roll, I'll switch to the other for a bit. Try playing a killer you haven't played a lot of or using perks you don't usually run.

You can get burnt out of anything if you do it too much. Maybe you need a longer break, or if you still wanna play, set goals for yourself. Whether it’s working through the tomes or creating fun little challenges for yourself on your own.

I’m working on levelling everyone to 50 so I can unlock all the perks. Then I’m trying to get all the perks on my main. You could keep playing to grind for shards even & unlock some cool cosmetics you like. Or maybe you wanna try to get better at chases, so you try out the distraction role with some nifty builds. Change it up and you might have more fun.

I honestly just stay away from Meta builds at this point and try new things. Here's a couple of builds that keep me interested when I play:

Hex Build: Third Seal / Ruin / Devour / Lullaby

Mori Roulette 1: Rancor / Furtive / Dead Man's Switch / (4th perk of your choice)

Mori Roulette 2: Rancor / Nemesis / Enduring / Spirit Fury

I try not to play too much so I won't get burned out but if I'm not properly motivated I'll watch some video or just forced myself to play one because then I start to have fun and I'll play more. Getting hate messages also keeps me motivated as they're pretty hilarious to read. I've saved a few of them that I look at every now and then and get quite the chuckle out of them which makes me want to play more.

I don't play that many games in a session. Usually about 5 games, then I'm off.

I tend to also focus more on the Archives missions for the game, and if I have friends on, I might switch to a smurf with purposefully under-powered perks. Except for my Claudette build with Self-Care, Dead Hard (need to swap it, hate the perk now), Resilience and Spine Chill. Good build. Rank 18-20 character, all perks are level 2 but hey. It's until I can get her teachables done.

The sheer amount of money I've spent on this game keeps me coming back. Pretty sad if you think about it.

I stopped playing for a month a little while ago. The only "remotivator" was playing it with my friend. Right now, I just started collecting match stats for my own info...so that's a motivator.

I play on off with long breaks in between I came back because I wanted to get Huntress' memories before the rift ended, now I want to grind to tier 34 for that sweet military skin she has.

I quit for a couple of months, now I'm playing an hour or two a day. When I think I'm done for the day, I turn off my console and do something else.

I play survivor until i get pissed, then I play killer until i get pissed. Then I play something else. Then I watch funny DBD videos. Then i play survivor until i get pissed, then i play killer until i get pissed. Like the game it becomes a never ending cycle.

I seem to be the odd one out here but I’m in love with Prestiging my characters. Perhaps it’s more like paranoia? If I don’t get P3 Level 50 on all my characters then I won’t be able to hoard event items on them, because they’ll disappear when prestiging... maybe that’s unhealthy I don’t know.

I took a break for 6 months. When I saw yui I wanted to buy her. Shes honestly the reason I came back.

I generally watch videos from like 1 or 2 years ago, and I am like "Hey, time to do this!". Then I realise most of the fun stuff in this game has been patched out, and I just do some random ######### for a few trials, and then exit the game again.

I somehow still end up on rank 1 every season, so I guess its working out.
