Already disliking this event
I really don't understand why there's a condition to be met for survivor, but not for killer. IMO it should just be to finish a match as either role while holding the crown. Not only that but I don't see why offerings can't spawn in an additional crown, I'd prefer the event be something to bring players together rather than make them even more competitive than they already are.

Not only this, but as someone else pointed out in another post, licensed characters, despite being unable to acquire the cosmetic, can still take the crowns

This has nothing to do with achievements, this event is time limited, achievements are not.

Yeah it is super annoying to get as survivor. People just run around trying to find crowns instead of doing gens and it takes ages to find one anyway.

Not sure about that, I couldnt take it as Michael Myers (didnt know he cant use it), maybe the interaction is bugged and sometimes it lets licensed characters take it.

How many Crowns can spawn on a map?
I found 3 in my last match.

It’s not too bad. Once I grind out my killer crowns I’ll probably just let the survivors with crowns escape as well. I had a killer do this for me earlier too. Once people are used to how the event works I think more people will chill out a bit and just have fun with it.

i found 4 in a match, but they were definitely not all always there. i think the crown might cycle through spawn locations or something

Well i say i found 3, but i actually found only 2, but saw 2 Survivors + me with the sparkles. 😋
Anyway, okay, so it might be (somewhat) map- & spawn-dependant.

No, I find it annoying that as a survivor, in order to get a cosmetic you have to escape while also holding a crown, looking for a crown can waste enough time for the killer to gain enough momentum at the start of the match that nobody will escape.

Because you need to escape to unlock the crown cosmetic, and if nobody does gens you won’t escape? Are you seriously surprised that this is a point of frustration for people?

Am I surprised that people are complaining about something because it isn't just handed to them even though it looks a little ridiculous and is completely free and didn't need to be added to the game at all in the first place but was done by the devs just to give people something? Yes, yes I am. Also, you don't need to do gens to escape. You just need to survive longer than the other 3 people.

I've easily earned all killer adepts (other than nurse; because I won't spend the time to learn how to play her) and I play survivor 75% of the time. Adepts on both sides are super easy at lower ranks. Doing adepts on either side is difficult at high ranks. It's really all about the survivors or the killers skill level. Perks don't mean much at lower ranks against below average players. That sums up this entire game.

I can only hope for this. So far I've had nothing but mega tryhard campers. Even when we all used BBP items. All I want is a crown, and that hope is really dying fast. Entity seems to be doing it's job right!

Well, they can run around looking for them the whole game. If they don't go gens and escape, it means nothing. No gens, no win (unless you are a filthy hatch camper).

I got it for all of them too. Killer is still more difficult regardless of rank.

Do the crowns provide any bonus beyond a cosmetic, extra BP for wearing it?, because if not folks are welcome to them in my matches. Maybe I'm to much of a pragmatist.

You get a small amount of BP for unlocking the cosmetic the first time (I think 500 BP), but other than that, they're just cosmetics.

A small amount. And imo the crowns look really dumb so I don't even care to have them for my killers. I'm not going to play farm simulator but I will make sure at least someone gets their crown in all of my matches.

Funny how you don't like that survivors just want the crowns handed to them but that's exactly what happens to the killers, you could take a crown, go AFK and you'd still get it.

Indeed. I don't get why killers aren't just farming with survivors. They have nothing to lose. In fact, they'll get more BP out of it that way.

I'm not a fan of the killers having the crowns handed to them either. But imagine the whiney posts on here if they made killers get a 4k to get the crown. Killers would be complaining it's too hard and survivors would be complaining because the killers are being too sweaty during the event. At least this way they only need to listen to one group of people cry.

Pretty sure it’s 1 then when someone takes it, it disappears and another one spawns somewhere else. I’ve had a game where all the survivors got the halo

I saw 3 survivors with glowing things, so I know for a fact there is at least 3.

What do you mean finish a match as either role? That pretty much is what you have to do. As a survivor you have to escape. As the killer you have to get a 4K...that’s my understanding.
you don’t need offerings to spawn more halo’s as it just spawns somewhere else once a survivor takes it. Everyone can get a halo in one match.

When the cakes also work for me, thats when I will start farming with the survivors when I'm the killer. Not when they don't work for me either. Then I just see it like an escape cake which is a roll of the dice for the survivor who burned it if they get much points out of it.
I got a report from someone because he only got 7k points because I didnt want to farm for his cake. LUL.

Yeah when someone takes it, it spawns somewhere else. I’ve seen a halo in a spot that it wasn’t earlier in the match.

The crowns are just obnoxious to try and locate. If I get one for a survivor cool but I'm not going out of my way searching. I'd rather work gens/cleanse totems. The crown cosmetic isn't worth wasting time trying to find a pillar.

did u noticed that it doesnt buff the bloodpoints like on other events.It doesnt multiply bloodpoints earned after the game.

To agree with one OP point, maybe making the crowns a bit of a competitive scavenger hunt ain't the greatest in bringing folks together, but people are saying that everyone in some matches got one so they don't seem that scarce. I'm just not overly fussed on most cosmetics if I get one I get one, if not then no big loss. Don't really see a reason to complain about it though.

Survivor can grab the crown, go find a killer and suicide on hook if that was the case. Same as it has in hallowed blight after cankers were drained

Sort of my feeling as well. I don't really care for the event but it is not costing me any money and I don't see any way they could do these crowns and not get complaining. Give both sides a condition such as escape for survivor and get x kills for killer and people would complain. Killers would be sweaty, both sides would be pissed.
Give nobody a condition and just make both sides have to finish a match. You would have everything collected for the event in 2 hours and people would be complaining at the amount of survivors suicide on first hook because they found a crown and just want to get the game over to move on to their next survivor.

It's more that killers already gain more BP AND get a slowdown in game for people trying to greed for crowns. So why should they only have to pick up 1 and thats all they have to do? At least I expected the requirement of hooking someone who grabbed a crown and/or earning at least ruthless killer to unlock it. I've had 4 games on David where I grabbed a crown, did 4 gens and still ended up dead because of NOED, being rid of a crown, while I can play Wraith, grab the crown and go afk for the remainder of the match and still get it.
That is a bit too unbalanced when killers essentially gain free cosmetics while survivors arent really guaranteed any cosmetic. So yeah, the complaint is worth as its not "a little easier". Its literally as easy as pressing m1 once and you're done.

You want killers to have to get a ruthless killer to get a crown? So survivor has to escape and killer has to get 3 kills normally. All in the name of making it fair? You don't see how adding this stipulation to killers is going to make them more sweaty and add to the heartache of obtaining the crowns on survivors? Am I the only one who reads these "its not fair" comments as if I was talking to my 6 year old?

people like you need to understand that the devs put alot of hard work and time into doing these events whether you like it or not, and you should be more grateful for it. i love DBD so much but all i ever see is people complaining instead of enjoying the game

I agree, survivors should unlock the head piece once they have gotten it, not if they survive or not. Really puts me off from going for the survivor head pieces when I know I may not get it simply because a Bubba chose me too face camp.

This event blows. In a game where stealth is king why would they think it's a good idea to have a big yellow halo on your survivor or killer? Seems pretty stupid to me. Is this the first event we've had in 2020? Didn't we have like 6-7 events the last two years? And there's no double bps at the start of this one? Seems pretty lackluster to me.
