i doubt its anywhere near that easy, but, yes i do agree. that was my first ever event in dbd and i was sad to see it didn't return last summer

I actually do think so. Gens are the same so those gens cosmetics can just be replaced (it's just texture).
Same applies to hooks. Only thing which might take work is adding those hook cosmetics on new maps since they look different.
That's it basically, or am I missing something?

i mean thats fair but, its BHVR, who knows what a simple gen or hook texture change could cause to the game

Yes, please. I miss the BBQ Event we had 2 years ago.
We didn't have it last year, so....can we please have it this year? It was so much fun.
