Idea for a new mechanic for early game

Add mechanical switches around the map that have a yellow wire leading to it fliping the switch will allow the gen to be repaired the killer can re flip the switch relocking the gen. If the gen is damaged while locked it will regress at 75 % normal speed with ruin it will regress at 100% speed and go back to what it was when unlocked corrupt intervention will block the 3 furthest switches the aura of swithes will be shown when 24m or closer.

    As @EarthToGravity said, it would work if it was a one time switch, although that's only in concept. We'd still have to see how it would play out.
