There is no set release for crossplay, but it is coming out this year.

Anything that requires coordination between gaming platforms isn't going to be super quick. Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, and BHVR all need to get on the same page with every combination between them, so I'm not expecting anything to move at speed. We know it's in the works, I'm content with that for the next few months at least, then an update would be nice.

I just wish they would let people play together between XBXGPass/ MSstore (pc) and Steam. I think the matchmaking already enables it but you can’t still invite them to a custom or swf,

I wouldn't hold your breath. The new MMR was supposed to be released this month but that's clearly not happening. If it is then the devs have a few more days to prove me wrong! I hope that I am, but I don't see it happening.

they will give an official date when they have it ready, until then they won't reveal it to anyone asking
